I hate to see this series end. Shooter has built an epic storyline that will now be 4 issues shorter. Unlike many writers, Shooter has taken a character(Princess Projectra, who he created back in the 60s) and layed out an explanation for why she would turn to the “dark side”. This was not done without building the foundation.

Projectra has lost her homeworld and has gradually been turning to a mission of vengeance. She is pretending to still be the same old Legionnaire while she is getting ready to take revenge against the United Planets. The ending to this story should be epic. With the steps she has taken in this chapter, there is no turning back.

The other major story dealing with the invasion of the Alien Destroyers and the “virtual beings” reaches crisis point by end of this issue. Will Brainiac 5 be able to stop the invasion? Is there a connection between the two storylines? Next month’s issue should reveal the answers.

The art of Manapul is very good at times, especially when he draws special effects. He needs to work on his drawings of people. He does a good job and is showing improvement.

This story earns high marks because of Shooter’s plotting and characterization.
