Sanity resumes this week as we only have eleven titles headed to the Bunker today. The past couple of weeks have been overwhelming with the amount of comic books that have flooded us. I am glad to actually get a relatively small week so that I can catch my breath. I am behind in my reading and still have not finished all the titles from last Wednesday.

Part of my being behind in my reading was my work trip to Wilmington, NC. The trip was great. From a business standpoint it was successful as we managed to go through mediation and get a large settlement for our client. And personally, the trip was a blast because we went out every night and enjoyed all the bars and pubs that populate downtown Wilmington. I have to say that pound for pound, Wilmington has more pubs than most cities.

My favorite part of the trip was stumbling upon Schaeffer BMW. I am a huge fan of Eastbound and Down. If you have not seen this show on HBO then do yourself a favor and check it out. It is so wrong that it is right. I love this show. And if you dig Will Ferrell‘s movies then you will probably enjoy Eastbound and Down.

At any rate, the show is set in Shelby, North Carolina. What I did not know while I was on my business trip is that they film Eastbound and Down in Wilmington. One of my favorite scenes is when the main character, Kenny Powers, is at Schaeffer BMW, where the owner, Ashley Schaeffer, Will Ferrell, hires Kenny as a “celebrity” spokesperson. Ashley Schaeffer has Rick Flair hair and lets out small and subdued “Wooo’s!” during his dialogue. It is great.

So, needless to say, when I rolled past Schaeffer BMW while I was in Wilmington, I got all stupid and giddy. Ah, the simply things in life that entertain me. Anyway, enough wasting everyone’s time. Let’s talk comics.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? This is easy. It would be Green Lantern #40. I have loved just about everything Johns has done on this title. I have also enjoyed the build-up to Blackest Night. I would be surprised if I did not like this issue.

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? I am really not that interested in Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds #4. Part of the reason is that I love the Legion and this title really has very little at all to do with the Legion. Johns is more focused on his true loves: the Superman Family, the Flash Family and the Green Lantern Corps.

Also, the pathetic shipping schedule has killed any interest I had in this title. Sorry, having to wait nine months just to get four issues is a joke.

Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Nova #24 should be a good read. It is hard to go wrong with a DnA penned cosmic title. This issue is sure to have plenty of action and a few swerves.

However, Dark Avengers #4 is the Marvel comic book I am most looking forward to reading. Bendis is a ball of fire on this title. I fully expect this issue to be an entertaining read.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Uncanny X-Men #509. Out of the nice selection of comic books from Marvel this title is the weakest link.
