Swierczynski has crafted a good finish to “The Mortal Iron Fist”. The biggest part of this issue is devoted to the showdown between Cheng and the now powerless Danny Rand. The author shows us why Danny would be a tough fighter even without his powers. I think many readers forget what Danny when through as a child.

The plan of taking over Rand Industries through buying small portions of stock over a long period of time and through various corporations was a good one. This seems realistic in the corporate world.
One of the little touches Swierczynski uses is Danny’s loyalty to his employees. Even though his assistant helped his enemy he stands by her in her time of need. This kind of dedication explains why people would work for someone who is a super hero. Danny’s enemies routinely attack his business. If Danny was a jerk with the employees, no one would risk their life by working for him.

Another good point was the preview from 10 years from now. It will be interesting to see if Marvel follows what is implied by the preview.

Russ Heath continues to produce quality art on the flashbacks. Unfortunately, this makes Travel Foreman look worse. Travel does an ok job but is a let down when compared to other artists on this series.

Recommended. This is still a quality read.

  1. Man, Bunker Bulletins is a great idea! I follow this blog every single day and I realize that you may not have the time to do a review of every comic book in any given week. Therefore, I welcome this new feature. This way we, the followers of this blog, could still get a quick idea of your and Rokk’s opinion on some comic books.

Just a small request: Reviews of Batman #682 and JSA #21.

Thanks in advance. And keep up the good work.
