This is a rather tame week for The Revolution. We are only getting 16 titles headed to the Bunker today. This is a pretty small and unexciting collection of comics from DC this week. On the other hand, we are getting plenty of Marvel titles and some real gems as well.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Um, how about none?

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Batman: Battle for the Cowl #3. This has been an extremely unimpressive editorially mandated story. And we all know exactly what is going to happen in this issue.

Which Marvel comic book am I looking forward to reading? There is plenty to choose from. I am looking forward to Wolverine: Weapon X #2. The debut issue of this title was a good solid Wolverine story. That is something that has been lacking on Wolverine’s titles outside of Millar’s Old Man Logan story.

Captain America #50 should be a good read. Brubaker rarely coughs up a bad read on this title. I am not expecting him to start now.

I am looking forward to reading Agents of Atlas #5. This title has been such an enjoyable read. Parker has created a rather unique and interesting team with the Agents of Atlas. And best of all is that Carlo Pagulayan returns with this issue.

However, the comic book that I am most looking forward to reading is Fantastic Four #566. I have enjoyed Millar’s run on this title. And, unlike some readers, I am actually interested in the Masters of Doom story arc. I don’t mind the concept that Doom would have a Master that trained him. Hopefully, Millar can meet my expectations for this issue.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? I am not that excited to read Thunderbolts #132. This title is at risk of getting the dreaded axe from The Revolution’s pull list. Thunderbolts is getting lost in the shuffle in the 616 Universe with the three different Avengers teams that are running around. At this point, Kirkman’s Ant-Man is the only thing that is keeping my interest in this title.

However, the Marvel comic book that I am least looking forward to reading is Uncanny X-Men #510. This title continues to be a complete miss with me. It is a collection of recycled plotlines that lack focus and are delivered at a slow pace. And it is all wrapped up in some pretty cheesy dialogue.

  1. I’m a bit surprised to see that “FCA:Dance” made your list, yet it isn’t something you’re looking forward to. I bought it today (now that the “No Conner, no money for DC” rule can be set aside) but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet. (I did read “The Brave and the Bold” – Rip was smokin’ hot, but the whole issue was just a setup for some Magog crap later on. Feh.)(And the last “Secret Six” – disturbingly hilarious.)

In any case, I’m hoping that it will somehow matter that the Super Young Team is supposed to be the Fifth World version of the Forever People. I have very fond memories of those space hippies.

  2. Whoa, wait! I thought we were digging Outsiders! When did this thing drop off the radar for the Revolution!?

  3. I’m a week late on this, but have you given League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century issue 1 a read?

Seeing how much you admire Moore’s works(and of course you’re not the only one) I had expected you to give it a go immediately.

I’m very interested in your opinion on FC Aftermath Dance. I will decide on whether I buy it, based on your(and some other equally sophisticated reviewers) opinion(s). I love Japanese heroes, but I’m not quite sure if DC knows where it wants to go with this team(or any DC universe team for that matter).
