Top Comic Book Moments For April 2017

April has come and gone. With another month gone by we had yet another period of standout moments from the worlds of DC Comics, Marvel, Image and more. April big revelations that included Captain America finally revealing his intentions to the Marvel Universe’s public and Batman and Flash investigation into the Watchmen Button getting the spotlight. These moments along with others such as Invincible going to war, Norman Osborn making his presence known, an old Batman villain reappearing and many more made April memorable. See what all these big moments were down below.

All-New Wolverine #19

Laura Kinney has had a lot of great moments since taking over the role of Wolverine. This interrogation scene was possibly her best. Having Laura reveal to the guy behind the trafficking ring they stopped learn that his mother was listening to his confession was priceless.

All-Star Batman #9

Learning that “The Cursed Wheel” back-up story was actually a tease for things to come in Dark Days, the big event by Scott Snyder, was fantastic. This is something that was a pleasant surprise to cap off the back-up story in All-Star Batman. It also creates the possibility that Dark Days will end with Duke finally taking on whatever role he has been training to take within the Batman Family.

Amazing Spider-Man #26

Nick Fury telling all of the agents in SHIELD that Parker Industries are as big of a threat as Hydra is telling for how Peter has not been great at being a CEO. A lot of his decisions has been ruled by his feelings and adventures as Spider-Man rather than planning for a long-term future. Now with Mockingbird, someone who has been built as his new love interest, going up against Peter things should only get worse before they get better as Peter’s “Parker Luck” comes back to haunt him.

Archie #19

While Archie and Jughead are best friends they should never try to help each other from getting out of a tangled mess. It’ll only lead one of them down a mountain.

Batgirl And The Birds of Prey #9

Black Canary using her sonic scream to allow her to fly for a short period was something that isn’t how I ever thought she would use her powers. It is an interesting way to give her a power up and opens the possibility for Black Canary to further explore how she can use her sonic scream in other ways.

Batman #20

Though Batman may not rank as the top fighter in the Batman Family, the thing that puts him in a class of his own is his never say die attitude. It’s pushed him through injuries that would take out any other person during a fight.

Batman #21

For fans who hate it when Batman always seems to beat characters that should easily kill him this fight with Reverse Flash was a dream battle. Reverse Flash completely dominated the fight, though Batman did get a few good shoots in.

Elektra #3

Elektra was in complete Terminator mode as she systematically defeated everyone that had the bad luck of getting in her way. The sheer fear of what Elektra could do to everyone was a sight to see.

The Flash #21

Seeing the other versions of the Justice League create some interesting crossover potentials in the future like the pre- and post-Flashpoint DCU’s meeting one another since Superman is supposed to now be from both worlds now.

Hal Jordan And The Green Lantern Corps #19

The look into the possible future of the Green Lantern and Sinestro Corps alliance leading to everyone just being part of the GLC may be the first signs of things not turning out well. Especially given the Green Lantern Corps history whenever they are the dominant Lantern Corps in the DCU.

Injustice 2 #1

Superman dropping the truth bomb on Batman was extremely harsh but great welcome back to the Injustice Universe.

Invincible #135

Robert Kirkman continues to test what it means to be a hero in the Invincible Universe. The war with Thragg’s Viltrum Empire has caused Mark Grayson not to think like a superhero but a soldier fighting a war.

Iron Fist #2

Having Iron Fist competing in a fighting tournament on an unknown island has been a great change of pace from everything else going on in the Marvel Universe. Plus this just invokes the best part of the Mortal Kombat movie back in the day.

Justice League Of America #4

Batman always has his fair share of badass moments and this is no different. The sight of Batman holding a Captain America-like shield and telling Lord Havok he doesn’t die is just another one of them.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #14

Never in the history of the franchise has Rita Repulsa been more threatening and terrifying than in the latest Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic. Her threat to Trini sounds like Rita has the full intent of killing Trini and the Power Rangers one by one.

Nightwing #18

Leave it to Damian Wayne to find something to be annoyed about, especially when he is around Dick Grayson. Though to be fair it is not fair that Damian’s doll clone didn’t try to be creative by creating a deadly name like Deathwing did.

Nightwing #19

Though flattering this is not the welcoming party that Nightwing expected to have during his search for Doctor Hurt and Robin.

Old Man Logan #22

I am all in on Team Mariko. Sorry Team Jean Grey fans but Mariko is the only one that has given Logan a chance at a normal life.

Secret Empire #0

Captain Marvel has not had the best year in terms of being seen as a superhero, especially given her decisions during Civil War II. So how do you turn Captain Marvel back into a hero? Put her on the same scene with the Roman Reigns of the Marvel Universe in Captain Hydra……I mean Captain America.

Super Sons #3

This is the closest Superboy will ever get to hearing Robin admit he was wrong. It’s all about baby steps in the road to becoming BFFs.

Superman #20

As much as I am always going to be more of a fan of Batman than Superman, even I have to admit how much this scene brought a smile to my face. Especially seen the height difference between the two made it even better.

Superman #21

If Superman ever feels like retiring from being a superhero he’ll have a great career as a plane. The airline industry could sure use him with everything that has happened recently.

Teen Titans #7

Is it to early to start shipping a Kid Flash-Raven romance? Raven does have some experience in that area if all of the original Wally West’s history is still intact.

Titans #10

Bumblebee has possibly never had a bigger spotlight to show off just how much of a badass she can be when going all out with her powers. This definitely elevated her to show why she’ll be a useful member of the Titans in the future.

X-Men: Blue #1

Nothing like a good old X-Men run-and-ice strategy to take down Juggernaut. It’ll never get old, just new.

X-Men: Blue #2

Magneto’s history has always been one the saddest origin stories. It has given him a defense for why he has gone down the road he has. It’s not an excuse but good to see Jean Grey learn about his history to add depth to their current standing.
