Things went to another level in last month’s Ultimate Wolverine as the Opposition got a big reality check. It is a reality check that they may have angered Colossus and Magik to such a degree they don’t know what is coming for them. As we are just over a month away from The Maker’s return the actions by the Eurasian Republic could play a big factor in what we’ll see in Ultimate Endgame. HIGHLIGHTS FROM ULTIMATE WOLVERINE #11
Nothing Like Ultimate Colossus & Magik’s Wrath
Ultimate Wolverine #11 may go down as one of the most impactful comic books in this incarnation of the Ultimate Universe. That is all thanks to what Colossus and Magik do by pushing the button on their major bomb. This move by Colossus and Magik is a payoff to one of the major sub-plots involving the experiments the Eurasian Republic has been running. Specifically, the experimentation with psychics and how they ended up turning Ultimate Charles Xavier’s brain into a bomb.
Ultimate Wolverine Hero Moment Fail
The sense of inevitable dread is felt throughout Ultimate Wolverine #11 because you know there is no stopping Colossus and Magik’s move. But to the credit of Wolverine, he does make a great effort to try to stop the inevitable. Seeing Wolverine pilot a Sentinel to try to stop the Xavier Bomb from being dropped created great amount of tension. It is a tension that makes the bomb drop hit harder. Alessandro Cappuccio does a fantastic job at showing urgency in everything. There was no time to waste but really there was no time at all and that comes through the artwork.
The Opposition No More?
The Ultimate Xavier Bomb drop impact is immediately felt as it appears all the major members of The Opposition were killed by it. You really feel that impact with the second to final page of Ultimate Wolverine #11. Seeing a bloody Wolverine holding the dead bodies of Ultimate Shadowcat, Gambit, Black Widow, and Guardian. The anger and sadness of the scream we see from Wolverine in the final panel of that page is visceral. It really makes you wonder what he will do now that he has nothing to lose.
Ultimate Jean Grey Factor Still in Play
Ultimate Wolverine #11 starts and ends with the tease of what Colossus and Magik will do with the Phoenix subject. We know that the Phoenix subject is Ultimate Jean Grey, who has been captured and experimented on for an unknown number of years. They were using the brain of Ultimate Charles Xavier to maintain control over her. Now they are teasing, turning Jean into a Phoenix Bomb like what they did to Xavier’s brain. If that happens the events, we see in this issue will just be a blip in comparison to the Phoenix Bomb they’re preparing.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Ultimate Wolverine #11 is shockingly impactful comic book. What goes down here could go down as one of the most memorable single issues of this iteration of the Ultimate Universe. That comes down to what Ultimate Colossus and Magik do to change the game in their war against The Opposition. It’s an act that leaves us wondering what Wolverine will do after what he was forced to witness.
