MARVEL COMICS

ETERNALS #5
SUB-MARINER DEPTHS #2

Wow, this is a bizarre week for The Revolution. We are only getting a teeny tiny shipment of comic books headed to the Bunker today. This week’s shipment consists of only six titles. I cannot remember the last time I got such a small weekly shipment. It appears that both DC and Marvel are taking a week off from their respective big events.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? That would be Batman #680. As everyone knows, I have been a huge fan of Morrison’s Batman RIP story arc. I look forward to the next installment of this bizarre adventure.

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Trinity #18. This title continues to be a swing and a miss with me. It is not unreadable like Countdown was, but it certainly is not anything that gets me excited.

Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Well, we only have two titles to pick from so it makes this decision pretty easy. I am going to go with Eternals #5. I have enjoyed what the Knaufs have brought to the table on this title.

Do I find this title to be as impressive as what the Knaufs gave us on Iron Man: Director of SHIELD? No, but to be fair, I am a huge Iron Man fan so I am biased. Also, another factor is that while the Eternals are classic Kirby characters, they have never managed to garner much of a following.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Sub-Mariner Depths #2. The debut issue of this title was gorgeous to look at. Unfortunately, the story itself was a dull read.

As always, I’ll try my best to start posting reviews as soon as possible. I hope everyone enjoys their new comic books for this week.

  1. Ha! It’s funny how different our tastes are 🙂

As far as Marvel is concerned, I can’t wait for the 2nd issue of Submariner: Depths. I found the first issue a fascinating read and couldn’t put it down. And I’m much less interested in Eternals which somehow started to bore me around issue 3 🙂
