Energon Universe Preview: G.I. JOE #9

The G.I. JOE did not have the best debut as a team. They barely surviving their first major battle against Cobra Commander and his forces. While they were ultimately able to escape together the damage done by the battle with Cobra was impactful. In the most recent issue we saw Baroness decide to take a break to deal with her own thing. Now ahead of its July release Skybound and Image Comics has provided us with a preview of G.I. JOE #9 to share.

As mentioned, G.I. JOE #9 will continue the spotlight on Baroness, who has been joined by fellow JOE Cover Girl. This team-up has led to the beginning of exploring Baroness’ history in the Energon Universe. That is going to continue as the solicitation for the upcoming comic book states:

WHO IS [SPOILER]?  Baroness and Cover Girl are about to find out as they fight for their lives! Meanwhile, Clutch and Hound investigate Cobra’s Energon weapons!

G.I. JOE #9 will arrive with its main cover be handled by artist Tom Reilly. Additionally, G.I. JOE #9 will also have several variant covers from artists Andrea Milana, Alan Quah, John Amor, and Ito. Check out all the covers and three-page preview below.
