Marvel Comics October 2025 Solicitations: 5 Biggest Takeaways

Marvel Comics October 2025 comic book solicitations are here! October will begin a new age for the X-Men as the franchise is dominating the new comic book solicitations. That is thanks to a new direction called X-Men: Age of Revelation that will not only involve mutants but other heroes like Spider-Man and the Avengers. What else does Marvel Comics have planned to keep an eye out in October? Find out with our five biggest takeaways from Marvel Comics October 2025 solicitations.

1) X-MEN AGE OF REVELATION DOMINATES MARVEL COMICS OCTOBER

Just looking at Marvel Comics October 2025 solicitations it is clear they are leaning in on the X-Men’s newest saga to carry them through the month. The majority of X-Men comics will be taking a break in October to make way for their Age of Revelation comics. This franchise takeover has quickly become a theme for the X-Men franchise in the post-Krakoa era. This is the second time in seven months where most X-Men comics are paused for a big event, which happened back in March for the X-Manhunt crossover.

So what is Age of Revelations? For those not reading all X-Men comics, this saga will see Doug Ramsey, the heir of Apocalypse, creates his own Krakoa-like utopia in the form of Age of Revelation. Every comic book in the Age of Revelation timeline will be set 10 years into the future. In this future the Revelation Territories, the successor to Krakoa, threatens an Earth that has been transformed by the mysterious X-Virus.

In this new Age of Revelation timeline the X-Men have been through some big changes. Many of these changes invoke other future versions of the characters we’ve seen in stories like Age of Apocalypse and Days of Future Past. It certainly drives home how Doug Ramsey is really living up to being positioned as the heir of Apocalypse.

While Age of Revelation is taking over the X-Men franchise it is not consuming the rest of the Marvel Universe. We are getting Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers involved with their own dedicated titles rather than getting their ongoings involved. Given those franchises popularity adding them to the Age of Revelations makes the saga bigger. This could also indicate that we will see Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers more involved in X-Men events. It is a quiet change that addresses how uninvolved the rest of the Marvel Universe heroes are on the X-Men events.

2) CLOCK IS TICKING FOR THE ULTIMATE UNIVERSE

Based on the publishing line’s October solicitations we are full steam ahead with The Maker’s return coming at any moment before the close of 2025. The big sign for The Maker’s return will likely come from the ending of Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5. The Maker is front and center on the main cover holding Miles Morales sister. This could clue into how The Maker really always planned for Miles to act as his back-up in case something went wrong with the Ultimate Universe.

The big question from how Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5 is if it will end up teasing a new crossover between the Marvel Universe and Ultimate Universe. Thus far, all the teases involving The Maker’s return have been about the Ultimate Universe heroes being the one’s taking on The Maker and his Council. But given that The Maker made it clear he was planning to get revenge on Reed Richards and the Illuminati we could see Earth-616 play a role in the story. Which would provide a transition from One World Under Doom to whatever Ultimate Universe event we get in 2026.

Then there is the big tease of a major death happening in the pages of Ultimate Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four debuting in The Ultimates. Both of these things have been long teased for Ultimate Spider-Man and The Ultimates. We’ve been faked out in both instances. If both or either development happens it could play a big role in what we could see happen in the big Ultimate Universe event.

3) WHAT DOES IMPERIAL END MEAN FOR THE MARVEL COSMIC CORNER?

October marks the end of Marvel’s latest cosmic epic in Imperial. This cosmic event has involved all the big cosmic hitters, including Avengers’ Hulk and Black Panther. Because of that it has left a lot of questions around what will happen with all of Marvel’s cosmic characters. Afterall they have all been involved in Imperial.

That makes the ending of Imperial #4 as big as anything Marvel has going. Imperial’s ending will set the stage for what will be happening with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Hulk, Black Panther, Shi’ar Empire, Kree, Skrull, and more. With Jonathan Hickman being the writer the ending could give all these characters a big new direction like he did before for the Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, and Ultimate Universe.

One group that appear to be benefiting the most will be the Skrull. As we saw with Imperial #2, the Skrull have been revealed to behind the death of many cosmic leaders and the universe turning on Wakanda. It has been a long time since the Skrull were presented as a major threat. That will hopefully mean we will see the Skrull’s become an ongoing threat as the Marvel Universe could use them, Kree, and Shi’ar to be big deals.

4) FANTASTIC FOUR CROSSOVER WITH GARGOYLES

The biggest surprise to come out of Marvel Comics October 2025 solicitations is the announcement of the Fantastic Four crossover with Gargoyles. Maybe this is an announcement that I completely missed but as a big fan of both Fantastic Four and Gargoyles this is simply fantastic. Adding to the surprise is that it is not a crossover that was expected. When thinking about the Gargoyles the first Marvel heroes I think of them crossing over with would be Spider-Man and X-Men. Still, given the Fantastic Four’s momentum this isn’t surprising.

Adding to the excitement for this Fantastic Four/Gargoyles is the fact Greg Weisman is going to be writing it. There really isn’t anyone else that should be writing the Gargoyles first crossover with Marvel in the modern era than their creator. Weisman also has a history of writing very good Marvel characters. No doubt he’ll do a good job with this one-shot.

The question from here is if we will see any more Marvel branded Gargoyles’ comics? Recently we’ve seen Dynamite being the publisher for the Gargoyles franchise’s comic books. Disney has done this with their other franchises as they haven’t made use of Marvel as their full comic book publishers. Though that has been recently changing as Marvel is pushing some Mickey Mouse and Scrooge comics. Maybe this Fantastic Four/Gargoyles one-shot is the first step into that for the franchise Weisman created.

5) AMAZING SPIDER-MAN LEADS NEW GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Amazing Spider-Man is taking a unique direction of splitting up Peter Parker into two characters. But that is being done, from what we’ve been told, by not cloning Peter. Instead somehow Peter is literally being split into two. This is so that there could be a Spider-Man on Earth and a Spider-Man handling cosmic matters.

On the cosmic side of things, it looks like the Cosmic Spider-Man will be putting together his own version of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That is seen in the cover for Amazing Spider-Man #13 where the cosmic web-head is recruiting Rocket Racoon, Symbie, and several others for a new Guardians of the Galaxy-like team. The timing is certainly interesting with October seeing the end of Imperial. Amazing Spider-Man #13 could hint at Spider-Man playing a role in the new state of the Marvel cosmic side.
