The Starbreaker Supremacy has been a new turning point for the Green Lantern franchise. This is the culmination of everything that has been built around the Fractured Spectrum arc. It led to a universe that has been consumed by the Sorrow Lantern. Because of that Hal Jordan and his crew have gone on a mission to reclaim the universe’s emotions by going on a journey to the Source Wall. What will they find there? Let’s find out with Green Lantern #26.

GREEN LANTERN #26 SOLICITATION

The avatars of emotion are free, and now our cadre of Lanterns leads an attack to knock out the Sorrow Lantern and bring back emotion to the rest of the universe! HIGHLIGHTS OF GREEN LANTERN #26
VAMPERIC EMOTIONAL SPECTRUM AVATAR ENTITIES
Jeremy Adams and V Ken Marion go all in on how the new Emotional Spectrum avatars are vampiric in nature. They feed off the emotion they each represent. How that leads them to do all they can to make Hal Jordan, Sinestro, Carol Ferris, and the others get to the most extreme end of the emotions they represent was well done. It is a cool way to use what it means to wield the Emotional Spectrum as a form of power. The back-and-forth highlights the impact the Fractured Spectrum era has had on the franchise.
KYLE RAYNER GOES WHITE LANTERN MODE
With how the new Emotional Spectrum avatar entities acted there was a need to find a way to gain control of them. The answer to that being Kyle Rayner tapping into his ability to become a White Lantern was a great call. Adams and Marion do a great job treating Kyle’s status as a White Lantern as a temporary power-up. It uses how Geoff Johns established the White Lantern powers to help Kyle’s current character arc have a big payoff.
SPECTACLE IS ALL WE NEED
White Lantern Kyle Rayner’s return led to highlighting what the Starbreaker Supremecy is. This story is one giant spectacle. It very much feels like we are reading an old school approach to comic book storytelling. Things don’t have to be complicated with who the heroes are and complex villains. The actions of Starbreakers push the heroes to take great action. That great action is shown with Marion and colorist Romulo Fajardo Jr. getting the chance to show each main Green Lantern riding one of the Emotional Spectrum avatars. The visuals are epic that just get you hyped for how this story will wrap up.

WHAT DIDN’T WORK IN GREEN LANTERN #26
KELI QUINTELA’S UNECESSARY SUB-PLOT
With everything that goes on with Hal’s crew it made the brief interlude in what is going with Keli Quintela add nothing to the story. There is just not enough time to dedicate time to get invested in Keli’s sub-plot. There are way too many characters in this story that the brief page with Keli stands out as something that could’ve been cut. Though given how much time has been given to Keli in this and the Green Lantern Corps series, she will likely play an important role in this story. That said, this issue didn’t build much excitement for that role Keli will be given.
FINAL THOUGHTS
As Green Lantern #26 it becomes more of a spectacle comic book. That is highlighted by what Kyle Rayner’s action leads to a kick ass moments involving most of the cast. It all builds even greater hype for what will happen in the second half of the Starbreaker Supremecy story arc.
