HIGHLIGHTS OF INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE: BATTLE BEAST #6
Juggernaut of Emsiu Truly Challenges Battle Beast
After spending so much time searching for a true challenge Battle Beast found it in Juggernaut of Emsiu. That challenge came in the most brutal way that you know that Battle Beast absolutely loved. His entire life has been about finding some that can at least entertain his thirst for a good fight. As a reader when you see someone match Battle Beast in a fight you know they are a badass. It is the best character development that Juggernaut of Emsiu could get.
Ryan Ottley is One of the Best in the Business
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #6 is Ryan Ottley at his absolute best. Drawing two brawlers who hold nothing back in a fight is right up Ottley’s alley. He gets across the brutal way Battle Beast and Juggernaut of Emsiu love to fight. You felt the impact every blow and slash that was thrown. It is just one giant spectacle that hits on the fun action movie high you want from this type of comic book.

Set-Up for Series Future
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #6 does everything it needs to close out this story arc in a satisfying fashion. Our series lead got to get the challenge he spent six issues looking for. The last few pages dedicate itself to set-up what will come next. How does the rest of the Invincible Universe factor into the series future. We get that answer in a big way as more connective tissues to other parts of Invincible are brought in. What they are make what comes next as exciting as what we just got in these first six issues.
WHAT DIDN’T WORK IN INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE: BATTLE BEAST #6
Action Drowns Out Certain Character Voices
Because of how loud and fun the action in this issue was it made the “quieter” character focused scenes appear dull in comparison. This is a problem for Prince Salaka part in the story as it is his scenes that are impacted the most. Prince Salaka is put in a spot where it is tough to care about what is going on with him. The action is just to good that you are left looking forward to the next fight so much the drama just falls by the waist side.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #6 is an absolute blast. Robert Kirkman knew exactly the story that needed to be told. That is simply to craft a story that Ryan Ottley steps in to carry with his amazing artwork. It shows the immense trust Kirkman and Ottley have in each other as a creative team. Ottley does not disappoint as it is just fun ending this series first story arc with Battle Beast and Juggernaut of Emsiu holding nothing back in their brutally bloody fight.
