It looks like we have another large shipment of comic books headed to the Bunker today. This week comes to a total of 12 titles. While last week was a monster DC week, this week is a huge Marvel week. As always, I’ll try to post as many reviews as possible.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? That would be Supergirl and the Legion of Super Heroes #33. Bedard has crafted the most interesting story arc on this title is a very long time. And Calero is cranking out some excellent artwork. I think this is the first time I’ve actually been looking forward to reading the latest issue of the Legion.

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? Superman #666. This title continues to be terribly average.

Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Man this is a tough choice. It comes down to either Astonishing X-Men #22 or Iron Fist #8. Both are fantastic reads with great artwork. It is close, but I’m going to have to go with Iron Fist #8.

One reason for picking Iron Fist is Astonishing X-Men’s irregular shipping schedule. We got the last issue of Astonishing X-Men, issue #21, on May 2, 2007. Here we are finally getting issue #22 on August 22, 2007. That is almost 4 months in between issues. That is simply too long to wait between issues and it kills a lot of the momentum the title had built as well as killing a lot of my enthusiasm about the title.

The other reason for picking Iron Fist is because it is just an amazing read and I simply cannot get enough of this new Iron Fist.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? It comes down to either X-Men #202 or Amazing Spiderman #543. Both titles are unimpressive, but Amazing Spider-Man is downright miserable. I cannot wait for JMS to leave Amazing Spider-Man so that there is the outside chance that I might actually enjoy reading this title again.

I’ll try my best to start posting reviews as soon as possible. I hope everyone enjoys their new comic books for this week.
