Transformers has continuously escalated the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. That is going to get even bigger with the release of June’s Transformers #21. Ahead of its release Skybound and Image Comics has provided us with a preview of the June 11th release to share.
As mentioned, Transformers #21 will be taking the Autobots vs Decepticons to another level. That is thanks to the arrival of Megatron, who has quickly reminded the Decepticons who is in charge of the villainous group. With Megatron’s return to Transformers it brings into question if we will see greater tie-in to the rest of the Energon Universe. That could be what we see tease as the Autobot and Decepticon leaders have their big showdown, as teased in the solicitation:

LOS ANGELES 05/15/2025 — Today Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading games, IP and toy company Hasbro, revealed interior pages and the lineup of variant covers for TRANSFORMERS #21, the two-time Eisner Award winning series from writer Daniel Warren Johnson (Extremity, Do a Powerbomb), artist Jorge Corona (Middlewest), and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon). The next chapter of the tentpole Energon Universe story will be available on shelves in comic book shops June 11, 2025.

In addition to the main cover by Daniel Warren Johnson and series colorist Mike Spicer, the lineup of variant covers for TRANSFORMERS #21 includes an open-to-order cover B by series artist Jorge Corona & Mike Spicer, a 1:10 incentive variant continuing the connecting cover series by David Nakayama, a 1:25 incentive variant by Derrick Chew, a 1:50 incentive variant by Pye Parr, and the Energon Universe second anniversary mural variant covers by Jason Howard (Super Dinosaur) & Annalisa Leoni (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast).
