It is time to check out the August 2025 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we must settle for going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we must work with what we get.
Keep in mind that the Top 200 sales rankings are based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at over 125 local comic book shops selling American comics. These sales rankings represent sales to consumers by local comic shops.
We all know that these ICv2 sales charts based on the ComicHub system are not the best. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics, this is the best that we have to go by. You do see that these sales charts give a rough sketch of the market because titles that get canceled correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.
The data for the August 2025 comic book sales rankings was collected based on a four-week month, from August 3 to August 30, 2025.
You can go over to ICv2 and check out the Top 50 for August 2025 for free, or opt for a pro membership (It is well worth the money) and get the Top 200 for August 2025, and then come back here for a detailed analysis of the August 2025 comic book sales rankings!

August 2025 Top 200 Comic Book Sales Rankings
The Battle for the Top 10
Marvel Comics placed eight comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the three comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 10 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were up as Marvel Comics had seven comics in the Top 10 in August 2024.
Numbers were flat from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had eight comics in the Top 10 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had seven comics in the Top 10 in August 2022.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had six comics in the Top 10 in August 2021.
Welp. Reality comes fast for people who thought DC Comics had Marvel Comics’ number in the Top 10. I never thought there was any substance to DC Comics’ two-month stretch dominating the Top 10. I definitely knew that Marvel Comics had nothing to fear. It was more of the Absolute Universe enjoying excellent success, but it was a facade covering up the fact that none of DC Comics’ other franchises were selling well.
Marvel Comics boasted an excellent diversity of franchises in its Top 10 comics. Three comics were from the Spider-Man franchise, one from the X-Men franchise, one from the Avengers franchise, one from the Fantastic Four franchise, one comic from the Ultimate Universe franchise, and one big event comic. DC Comics wishes it had this kind of diversity at the top of the sales chart.
DC Comics placed just two comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were down by a massive margin from the six comics that DC Comics had in the Top 10 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were flat, as DC Comics had two comics in the Top 10 in August 2024.
Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in August 2023.
Numbers were down from three years ago, as DC Comics had three comics in the Top 10 in August 2022.
Numbers were down from four years ago, as DC Comics had three comics in the Top 10 in August 2021.
As expected, both of DC Comics’ comics in the Top 10 were from the Absolute Universe franchise. What a brutal fall from grace for DC Comics. It has to be discouraging that even with the white hot Absolute Universe, DC Comics is selling worse than it did three and four years ago. And we all thought DC Comics was circling the drain back then.
Image Comics placed zero comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were down from the one comic that Image Comics had in the Top 10 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in August 2024.
Numbers were flat from two years ago, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in August 2023.
Numbers were flat from three years ago, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in August 2022.

The Battle for the Top 25

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had fourteen comics in the Top 25 in August 2021.
Marvel Comics’ comeback kept on rolling in the Top 25 as they had an excellent rebound from July 2025. However, the bad news is that Marvel Comics is still off the pace compared to a year, two years, and three years ago.
DC Comics placed six comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the eight comics that DC Comics had in the Top 25 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 25 in August 2024.
Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 25 in August 2023.
Numbers were down from three years ago, as DC Comics had seven comics in the Top 25 in August 2022.
Numbers were down from four years ago, as DC Comics had seven comics in the Top 25 in August 2021.
Woof. The Top 25 performance must be discouraging for DC Comics. The good news is that DC Comics is doing better compared to a year ago or two years ago. However, the bad news is that DC Comics is still doing worse compared to three years and four years ago. And everyone thought DC Comics was in dire trouble three years ago and four years ago.
Image Comics placed two comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the three comics that Image Comics had in the Top 25 in July 2025.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 25 in August 2023.
Numbers were flat from three years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in August 2022.
Numbers were flat compared to four years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in August 2021.
The Battle for the Top 50
Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 26-50 range typically sell in the 49,000 to 30,000 unit range.
Marvel Comics placed thirty-two comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the twenty-seven comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 50 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as Marvel Comics had thirty-five comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had twenty-three comics in the Top 50 in August 2021.
Marvel Comics’ comeback continued going strong in the Top 50. However, the news is mixed when looking at prior years. Marvel Comics is off the pace compared to a year and two years ago. However, Marvel Comics is up considerably from four years ago.
DC Comics placed twelve comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the fourteen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had nine comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as DC Comics had fifteen comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Numbers were down compared to four years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-one comics in the Top 50 in August 2021.
The news for DC Comics in the Top 50 was grim. The good news is that DC Comics is still doing better compared to one year ago. However, DC Comics is doing worse compared to two, three, and four years ago. This should be distressing for DC Comics, considering how poorly they were doing over the past two to four years. It is tough to see DC Comics pulling out Big Event stories, big universe-wide initiatives, and they are still performing worse in the Top 50 than they were two to four years ago.
Image Comics placed four comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were flat from the four comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in July 2025.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as BOOM! Studios had zero comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Numbers were flat from four years ago as BOOM! Studios had two comics in the Top 50 in August 2021.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 49 spot. Given the two heavyweight franchises, this comic should have had a much higher debut number. Even IDW Publishing, with its inept editorial staff, is still able to have sales success with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
I have not been impressive with BOOM! Studios’ Power Rangers titles as of late. And BOOM! Studios has had zero sales success with their Power Rangers comics. So, I am not completely surprised by this weak debut number.
IDW Publishing placed zero comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the three comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 50 in July 2025.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as IDW Publishing had one comic in the Top 50 in August 2024.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-three comics in the Top 75 in August 2022.
Marvel Comics extended its comeback to a significant margin in the Top 75 compared to last month. Even better news is that Marvel Comics did better than it did a year, two years, and three years ago. Marvel Comics may have taken some body blows the past two months, but they are still DC Comics’ worst nightmare.
DC Comics placed twenty comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the twenty-seven comics that DC Comics had in the Top 75 in July 2025.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-seven comics in the Top 100 in August 2021.
Marvel Comics continues to be a sales juggernaut as its Top 100 numbers were up compared to the past four years. There is no slowing down for Marvel Comics.

Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #2 fell from the number 5 spot to the number 24 spot. This was a larger drop than I was expecting. Given the strong debut number and the sales success of Marvel’s other Godzilla comics, I thought this title had a good chance of remaining in the Top 15.
Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone (Kai-Sei Era) #1 had a poor debut at the number 118 spot. This is far worse than Godzilla (Kai-Sei Era) #1, which took the number 47 spot in July 2025. Clearly, a Godzilla title that does not star Godzilla had limited consumer appeal.
Mothra: Queen of the Monsters #5 went unranked for the fourth straight month.
Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens #3 went unranked for the third straight month.
Star Wars Franchise
75 Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #7 (Marvel Comics)
86 Star Wars #4 (Marvel Comics)
91 Star Wars: Jedi Knights #6 (Marvel Comics)
197 Star Wars Doctor Aphra – Chaos Agent #3 (Marvel Comics)
Unranked: Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #3 (Dark Horse Comics)
The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to July 2025, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were flat, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
The Star Wars franchise continues to be an utter dumpster fire for Marvel Comics. There is no hope on the horizon for this franchise.
Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #7 ticked up from the number 76 spot to the number 75 spot.
Star Wars #4 fell from the number 62 spot to the number 86 spot. Wow. Look how the mighty have fallen. It is stunning that this title is out of the Top 75 with just the fourth issue.
Star Wars: Jedi Knights #6 rebounded from the number 155 spot to the number 91 spot.
Star Wars Doctor Aphra – Chaos Agent #3 plummetted from the number 157 spot to the number 197 spot. This title looks like it is going to be unranked soon. The combination of a Hollywood writer with an unpopular character is another misfire by Marvel Comics editorial.
Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #3 went unranked for the third consecutive month.
Spider-Man Franchise
3 Amazing Spider-Man #9
6 Black Cat #1
10 Amazing Spider-Man #10
28 All-New Spider-Gwen The Ghost-Spider #1
36 Spider-Man & Wolverine #4
37 All-New Venom #9
39 Venom Black, White & Blood #1
63 Eddie Brock: Carnage #7
70 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #36
87 Amazing Spider-Man #8 (Resolicitation)
112 Miles Morales Spider-Man #37
132 Spider-Man & Wolverine #3 (Resolicitation)
141 Marvel & Disney What If…? Goofy Became Spider-Man #1 (Resolicitation)
146 Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse #4
189 Amazing Spider-Man #7 (Resolicitation)
193 Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Sixteen #1 (Resolicitation)
200 Spider-Girl #3
The Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when the Spider-Man franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were flat from three years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Let’s start with the star of the show: Peter Parker.
Amazing Spider-Man #9 climbed from the number 15 spot to the number 3 spot. Amazing Spider-Man #10 ticked down to the number 10 spot. What an impressive flex by Amazing Spider-Man to place one issue in the Top 5 and two issues in the Top 10. Very few titles have the sales muscle to ship two issues in a month and enjoy excellent sales for both issues.
Spider-Man & Wolverine #4 rebounded from the number 68 spot to the number 36 spot. What an impressive recovery for a title that was outside of the Top 50 for the past two issues.
Let’s zip over to the knock-off Spider-Men.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #36 climbed from the number 85 spot to the number 70 spot. Miles Morales Spider-Man #37 then plummeted to the number 112 spot. Like I said above, not many characters have the selling power of Peter Parker.
Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse #4 crashed from the number 89 spot to the number 146 spot. This is the lowest in the rankings that we have seen in this five-issue mini-series.
Let’s check out the Venomverse.
All-New Venom #9 rebounded from the number 64 spot to the number 37 spot. This is a bit lower than the number 32 ranking that All-New Venom #7 snagged in June 2025.
Venom Black, White & Blood #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 39 spot. This four-issue mini-series should be out of the Top 50 by the next issue.
Eddie Brock: Carnage #7 climbed from the number 72 spot to the number 63 spot. This is the third consecutive month that this title has gone up in the rankings. Impressive.
Black Cat #1 had a monster debut at the number 6 spot! Five open order covers, two reprint covers, four incentive covers, eight retailer-exclusive covers, and one event-exclusive cover. All of these covers are excellent. However, if I have to pick my favorites, I would go with the JeeHyung Lee cover, the J. Scott Campbell cover, and the Lucio Parrillo cover
G. Willow Wilson is the writer, and she is a poor fit for mainstream superhero comics and has never had any sustained sales success. I expect Black Cat to be out of the Top 50 in quick fashion.
All-New Spider-Gwen The Ghost-Spider #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 28 spot. What a surprise. Marvel Comics’ editorial team is up to their same old stupid ideas. Publish a title with a poor creative team and watch the title die in the sales rankings. Cancel the title after twelve issues. Then roll out a brand new title with a new #1 issue with the same creative team. And somehow, Marvel Comics’ editorial thinks they will magically get a different result. Talk about slamming your head against a wall and not expecting it to hurt after the first time.
Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 debuted at the number 10 spot in May 2024. Stephanie Phillips was the writer. Like everything Phillips writes, Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider promptly died in the sales rankings as issue #2 fell all the way to the number 52 spot. By just the fourth issue, Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider was a Dead Title Walking as issue #4 fell to the number 104 spot. The title was canceled with Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #15, which took the number 160 spot in June 2025.
I do not understand why Marvel Comics’ editorial continues to do this over and over, despite it never working out for them. I would expect Phillips’ All-New Spider-Gwen The Ghost-Spider to end up right back in the Dead Titles Walking category, where Phillips’ prior title was in June 2025.
Spider-Girl #3 fell like a dead duck from the number 115 spot to the number 200 spot. Good lord! This title fell from its debut at the number 54 spot to one spot away from being unranked in just three months! That is breathtaking. Torunn Grønbekk continues her quest to become the new Tini Howard of sales. This title is another weird idea and sales disaster for Marvel Comics’ editors.
X-Men Franchise
9 Uncanny X-Men #19
23 Magik #8
25 X-Men #20
32 Giant-Size X-Men #2 (2025)
36 Spider-Man & Wolverine #4
38 Wolverine #12
42 X-Men #21
48 Psylocke #10
53 Laura Kinney: Wolverine #9
60 Storm #11
62 Wolverine by Chris Claremont #1
76 Emma Frost The White Queen #3
94 Exceptional X-Men #12
105 Wolverines & Deadpools #2
132 Spider-Man & Wolverine #3 (Resolicitation)
133 Deadpool / Wolverine #8
144 Phoenix #14
152 Uncanny X-Men #18 (Resolicitation)
183 X-Men Age of Revelation #0 (Resolicitation)
Unranked: Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #5
Unranked: X-Men: Tooth and Claw #1
Unranked: Wolverine: Revenge – Red Band Raw: Black & White Edition #2
The X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when the X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as the X-Men franchise had three comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and twelve comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were up from two years ago, as the X-Men franchise had four comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as the X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Uncanny X-Men #19 climbed from the number 22 spot to the number 9 spot. This is even better than Uncanny X-Men #17, which took the number 12 spot in July 2025.
X-Men #20 rebounded from the number 61 spot to the number 25 spot. This is slightly lower than X-Men #17, which took the number 23 spot in June 2025.
X-Men #21 then dropped from the number 25 spot to the number 42 spot.
Giant-Size X-Men #2 dipped from the number 28 spot to the number 32 spot.
Exceptional X-Men #12 dropped from the number 73 spot to the number 94 spot. This title continues to be the sales dud of the main “core” X-Men team titles.
Let’s check out the duo titles.
Wolverines & Deadpools #2 climbed up from the number 136 spot to the number 105 spot. This new title from Cody Ziglar cannot escape the Dead Titles Walking category.
Deadpool / Wolverine #8 plummeted from the number 77 spot to the number 133 spot. With just the seven issues, this title has finally succumbed to the Dead Titles Walking category. Given the big-name characters, this title has underperformed from the start.
Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #5 fell from the number 125 spot and right out of the Top 200 to end up unranked. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series has now concluded. This was an awful way to end this mini-series, which was a total sales failure from the start.
Let’s zip over to the dudes of the X-Men franchise.
Wolverine #12 ticked up from the number 44 spot to the number 38 spot. This is roughly where Wolverine #9 was when it took the number 39 spot in May 2025. Wolverine has now sold outside of the Top 25 for four consecutive months. Marvel Comics cannot be pleased with Saladin Ahmed’s sales performance on this flagship title. This should be a consistent Top 25-selling comic.
Wolverine by Chris Claremont #1 had a bad debut at the number 62 spot. This one-shot issue underperformed.
Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the X-Men franchise.
Magik #8 took the number 23 spot, which is the same number Magik #7 took in July 2025. Talk about consistency!
Psylocke #10 bounced up from the number 83 spot to the number 48 spot. This title managed to sneak back into the Top 50 after four consecutive months outside of the Top 50. This title has seen wild fluctuations in the sales chart over the past four issues, as it has bounced from just outside the Top 50 to just outside the Dead Titles Walking category. It has become impossible to handicap this title in the sales chart.
Laura Kinney: Wolverine #9 climbed from the number 83 spot to the number 53 spot. This title has managed to pull off a two-month rally after almost falling into the Dead Titles Walking category when it was at the number 99 spot in June 2025. This is either a result of increased sales numbers or that the comic book market was soft in August 2025, and sales numbers in general were down. The next few months will be instructive.
Storm #11 climbed from the number 78 spot to the number 60 spot. This title has been outside of the Top 50 for three consecutive months. I do not think this title can get back to its Top 50 status. However, remaining a constant Top 75 title is certainly a possibility.
Emma Frost: The White Queen #3 dropped from the number 43 spot to the number 76 spot. I am not surprised that this title is already out of the Top 75 with just the third issue. Amy Chu is a relative no-name writer and has never had any prior sales success. I know that Emma Frost is popular, but she still needs a strong creative team to have sales success.
We continue to get some excellent variant covers for Emma Frost: The White Queen. My favorite this month was the Fan Yang cover.
Phoenix #14 crashed from the number 108 spot to the number 144 spot. This is the third consecutive month this title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category. This is what we have come to expect from a Stephanie Phillips title.
Avengers Franchise
8 Captain America #2
34 The Mortal Thor #1
41 New Avengers #3
47 Bring on the Bad Guys: Red Skull #1
55 Imperial War Planet She-Hulk #1
80 Incredible Hulk #28
83 Avengers #29
92 Imperial War Black Panther #1
115 Red Hulk #7 (Doom)
127 Superior Avengers #5 (Doom)
137 Vision & the Scarlet Witch #4
139 Captain America #1 (Resolicitation)
156 Incredible Hulk #27 (Resolicitation)
166 West Coast Avengers #10
178 Bring on the Bad Guys: Loki #1 (Resolicitation)
The Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were flat from two years ago, as the Avengers franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Let’s kick it off with the team titles.
New Avengers #3 dropped from the number 35 spot to the number 41 spot. Welp, any hopes of New Avengers being a consistent Top 25 disappeared with just the second issue. It looks like the hopes of New Avengers being a consistent Top 50 title are not going to happen, either.
Avengers #29 climbed from the number 105 spot to the number 83 spot. This is a rebound but still worse than Avengers #27, which took the number 74 spot.
Superior Avengers #5 fell from the number 114 spot to the number 127 spot. It looks like this six-issue limited series is going to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.
West Coast Avengers #10 dropped from the number 128 spot to the number 166 spot. Six out of the past seven issues have been in the Dead Titles Walking.
Let’s look at the one duo title.
Vision & the Scarlet Witch #4 ticked up from the number 149 spot to the number 137 spot. This Steve Orlando comic is never escaping the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s hop over to the dudes of the Avengers franchise.
Captain America #2 ticked up from the number 10 spot to the number 8 spot. Very impressive.
The Mortal Thor #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 34 spot. The Immortal Thor was selling in the 40s, a few months before it got cancelled. It looks like restarting this title with the same writer is going to lead to the exact same sales numbers. Shocker. Only a Marvel Comics editor would be surprised.
Incredible Hulk #28 climbed from the number 90 spot to the number 80 spot.
Red Hulk #7 fell from the number 91 spot to the number 115 spot. This title continues to alternate between being in and out of the Dead Titles Walking category for the past five issues.
Let’s end with the one villain title.
Bring on the Bad Guys: Red Skull #1 had an unremarkable debut, taking the number 47 spot.
Fantastic Four Franchise
4 One World Under Doom #6
5 Fantastic Four #2
40 Death of the Silver Surfer #3
52 Doomed 2099 #1
65 Marvel All-On-One #1
109 Fantastic Four #1 (Resolicitation)
172 The Thing #4
179 Fantastic Four Fanfare #4
182 Fantastic Four Facsimile Edition #8
The Fantastic Four franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 10, worse in the Top 25, and flat in the Top 50 than July 2025, when the Fantastic Four franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as the Fantastic Four franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Let’s begin with the team titles.
Fantastic Four #2 dipped from the number 2 spot to the number 5 spot. This was an impressive rank for the second issue of this new title.
Fantastic Four Fanfare #4 fell from the number 141 spot to the number 179 spot.
Let’s zip over to the dudes of the Fantastic Four franchise.
Death of the Silver Surfer #3 crashed from the number 18 spot to the number 40 spot.
Marvel All-On-One #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 65 spot. I enjoyed this one-shot issue, but many consumers passed on it.
The Thing #4 climbed from the number 186 spot to the number 172 spot. This five-issue mini-series is obviously going to conclude in the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s wrap up with the one villain title.
Doomed 2099 #1 had a blah debut at the number 52 spot.
The Ultimate Universe
7 Ultimate Wolverine #8
16 Ultimate Spider-Man #20
17 Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion #3
21 Ultimates #15
26 Ultimate Spider-Man #19 (Resolicitation)
30 Ultimate X-Men #18
79 Ultimate Black Panther #19
88 Ultimates #14 (Resolicitation)
The Ultimate Universe had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when the Ultimate Universe had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25, but up in the Top 50, as the Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Ultimate Wolverine #8 ticked down from the number 6 spot to the number 7 spot. It is wildly impressive how much of a sales beast this title has been.
Ultimate Spider-Man #20 ticked down from the number 13 spot to the number 16 spot. This title is no longer the crown jewel of the Ultimate Universe, as Ultimate Wolverine has outsold it for the past four consecutive months.
Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion #3 fell from the number 11 spot to the number 17 spot. It must be disappointing to see a title that debuted at the number 2 spot already selling outside of the Top 15.
Ultimates #15 ticked up from the number 26 spot to the number 21 spot. This ended a two-month stretch of this title selling outside of the Top 25.
Ultimate X-Men #18 dipped from the number 28 spot to the number 30 spot.
Ultimate Black Panther #19 fell from the number 60 spot to the number 79 spot.
Batman Franchise

123 Batman and Robin #24
136 Batman the Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #8 (Of 10) (Resolicitation)
150 Catwoman #78
Unranked: Harley Quinn #53
The Batman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was worse than July 2025, when the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and twelve comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Let’s start with the Bruce Wayne titles.
Detective Comics #1100 bumped up from the number 37 spot to the number 27 spot. This is the second consecutive month this title has climbed in the rankings.
Immortal Legend Batman #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 31 spot. This six-issue mini-series from Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom did not pull in readers like I expected. I expected this title to command a Top 25 debut.
Batman Superman World’s Finest #42 fell from the number 56 spot to the number 81 spot. This is close to where this title was when Batman Superman World’s Finest #40 took the number 84 spot in June 2025. This title has lost much of the sales mojo it once possessed.
Batman Dark Patterns #9 ticked down from the number 80 spot to the number 84 spot. This twelve-issue limited series continues to underperform.
Batman: Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #2 fell from the number 49 spot to the number 93 spot. This was not a big surprise given the pedestrian debut number this six-issue mini-series scored. It is going to be a struggle for this title to stay out of the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s check out the Bat-boy titles.
Batman and Robin Year One #10 dropped from the number 57 spot to the number 67 spot. Welp, last month’s sales rally ended quickly. This twelve-issue-limited series cannot get back into the Top 50.
Robin & Batman Jason Todd #3 carsehd and burned, falling from the number 64 spot to the number 121 spot. Ouch. This three-issue mini-series concluded with a thud.
Batman and Robin #24 fell from the number 98 spot to the number 123 spot. This title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category for four of the past five months.
Nightwing #129 fell from the number 66 spot to the number 90 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has avoided the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Batman franchise.
Batgirl #10 climbed back into the rankings and took the number 95 spot. This is a title that just barely escaped the Dead Titles Walking category for the first time in months.
Birds of Prey #24 climbed back into the rankings and took the number 107 spot. Since this title shipped two issues in June 2025, I expected it to get back into the rankings but remain a Dead Title Walking.
Poison Ivy #35 ticked up from the number 115 spot to the number 114 spot. This is the third consecutive month that this title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category.
Catwoman #78 climbed from the number 187 spot to the number 150 spot. DC Comics has to make a change at the writer position. Torun Grønbekk is performing as badly as Tini Howard. Por Catwoman cannot catch a break with the creative teams that editorial keeps saddling her character with over and over.
Harley Quinn #53 was unranked for the third consecutive month. What a complete sales disaster this title has been. Hiring a TV writer to helm this title was another masterpiece of stupidity by DC Comics editorial.
Superman Franchise
33 Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #1 (Of 5)
51 Supergirl #4
54 Superman #29
61 Superman Unlimited #4
64 Action Comics #1089
81 Batman Superman World’s Finest #42
97 Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #3 (Of 5)
170 Superman #28 (Resolicitation)
181 Adventure Comics #210 Facsimile Edition
The Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was worse than July 2025, when the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Let’s start with the Clark Kent titles. First, things are not looking good for the Superman titles. They should all be performing better than they are.
Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 33 spot. This five-issue mini-series should have had a Top 25 debut. DC Comics continues to struggle to generate sales success outside of the Absolute Universe and Bruce Wayne comics.
Superman #29 fell from the number 33 spot to the number 54 spot. This title has now sold outside of the Top 50 for three of the past four issues. This should be unacceptable for DC Comics.
Superman Unlimited #4 fell from the number 40 spot to the number 61 spot. This title has sold outside of the Top 50 for two of the past three issues. This is another embarrassment for DC Comics. This should be a Top 25 or at least a Top 50 seller.
Action Comics #1089 ticked up from the number 70 spot to the number 64 spot. This title has no hope of getting back into the Top 50.
Let’s check out the one lady of the Superman franchise title.
Supergirl #4 fell from the number 38 spot to the number 51 spot. This title has sold outside of the Top 50 for two of the past three issues.
Let’s wrap up with the man’s best friend title of the Superman franchise.
Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #3 dropped from the number 65 spot to the number 97 spot. This five-issue mini-series is at risk of concluding in the Dead Titles Walking category.
Justice League Franchise

58 Justice League Vs Godzilla Vs Kong 2 #3 (Of 7)
78 Justice League Red #1 (Of 6)

175 Secret Six #6 (Of 6)
187 Green Arrow #27
195 The Flash #24
Unranked: Green Lantern Dark #6
Unranked: Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over #5
The Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was worse than July 2025, when the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were flat in the Top 10, down in the Top 25, and flat in the Top 50, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
Let’s start with the team titles.
Justice League Unlimited #10 fell from the number 25 spot to the number 46 spot. This title has now sold outside of the Top 25 for three of the past four issues. This is a title that DC Comics needs to remain a Top 25 seller.
Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2 #3 rocketed up from the number 141 spot to the number 58 spot. This was expected since this title shipped two issues in June 2025. While this month was a nice rebound, this seven-issue mini-series is selling much worse than Justice League vs Godzilla.
Justice League Red #1 had a terrible debut at the number 78 spot. What a disastrous debut for this six-issue limited series. This is not a surprise. Saladan Ahmed has been hit or miss in the sales charts during his career. Also, the roster for Justice League Red is bizarre. I have no idea why DC Comics editorial thought this was a brilliant idea.
JSA #10 climbed back into the rankings at the number 111 spot. This title shipped two issues in June 2025, so this rebound was expected. This ranking is slightly better than JSA #8, which took the number 118 spot.
Secret Six #6 climbed back into the rankings at the number 175 spot. This six-issue limited series has now concluded. Secret Six was an epic sales disaster. Secret Six went unranked for three out of six issues. The remaining three issues were in the Dead Titles Walking category. Again, only a DC Comics editor would be surprised that hiring a writer like Nicole Maines, who has zero qualifications to be a mainstream superhero comic book writer, would lead to a sales disaster.
Let’s check out the Green Lantern titles.
Green Lantern Corps #7 fell from the number 100 spot to the number 106 spot. This title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category for three of the past four issues.
Green Lantern #26 dropped from the number 86 spot to the number 155 spot. Thus ended the one-month tour outside of the Dead Titles Walking category. The editorial decision to make this title a team title starring Kyle Raynor, Killowog, Hal Jordan, and Carol Ferris has backfired in DC Comics’ face. Sales on this title have tanked. Green Lantern should be a Top 25 or at least a Top 50 selling title. This is yet another instance of editorial malpractice by DC Comics.
Let’s look at the dudes of the Justice League franchise.
Aquaman #8 fell from the number 101 spot to the number 128 spot. This title has been stuck in the Dead Titles Walking category for four consecutive months.
Mr Terrific Year One #4 fell from the number 135 spot to the number 158 spot. This six-issue limited series has been a complete bust.
Green Arrow #27 fell from the number 176 spot to the number 187 spot.
The Flash #24 barely managed to sneak back into the Top 200 rankings by taking the number 195 spot. This snapped three consecutive months of The Flash going unranked.
DC Comics’ editorial handling of big-name characters like Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and The Flash is inexcusable. There is no reason why all of these titles should be Dead Titles Walking. It is editorial malpractice and should lead to people losing their jobs. DC Comics editors continue to mystify me in their inability to generate success outside of Bruce Wayne and the Absolute Universe.
Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.
Trinity Daughter of Wonder Woman #3 fell from the number 104 spot to the number 134 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this six-issue limited series has been in the Dead Titles Walking category. Newsflash. Nobody cares about Tirnity. This is just another case of the disconnect between DC Comics editorial and the consumer.
Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #1 had an embarrassing debut at number 125. Woof. Brutal. This six-issue limited series is off to such a bad start that there is a good chance it ends up going unranked before its conclusion. Nobody was interested in this Greg Rucka offering.
Wonder Woman #24 plummeted from the number 52 spot to the number 99 spot. Tom King’s Wonder Woman continues to underperform as it has now sold outside of the Top 50 for four consecutive months and has sold outside of the Top 75 for two of the past three issues.
Green Lantern Dark #6 went unranked for the second consecutive month. This seven-issue mini-series from Take Brombal has been a sales disaster.
Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over #5 was unranked for the fourth consecutive month. Only DC Comics editorial would think that hiring Joanne Starer to write a mainstream superhero comic book was a good idea. This title has been another prime example of how badly out of touch DC Comics’ editorial is when trying to figure out what their consumer desires. Again, I am unsure how some of DC Comics’ editors can keep their jobs after constantly fumbling the ball.
The Absolute Universe
1 Absolute Batman #11
2 Absolute Superman #10
12 Absolute Green Lantern #5
13 Absolute Wonder Woman #11
14 Absolute Flash #6
22 Absolute Martian Manhunter #6 (Of 12)
45 Absolute Batman #10 (Resolicitation)
66 Absolute Wonder Woman #10 (Resolicitation)
99 Absolute Martian Manhunter #5 (Of 6) (Resolicitation)
149 Absolute Batman #9 (Resolicitation)
151 Absolute Flash #5 (Resolicitation)
160 Absolute Superman #9 (Resolicitation)
The Absolute Universe had two comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when the Absolute Universe had five comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.
Absolute Batman #11 held steady and took the number 1 spot for the second consecutive month. Even more impressive is that Absolute Batman has taken the number 1 spot in nine out of eleven issues. Phenomenal.
Absolute Superman #10 ticked up from the number 3 spot to the number 2 spot. This is the fourth consecutive month that this title has scored a Top 3 finish.
Absolute Green Lantern #5 took the number 12 spot, which is the same spot in the rankings this title took in June 2025.
Absolute Wonder Woman #11 dropped from the number 6 spot to the number 13 spot.
Absolute Flash #6 fell from the number 7 spot to the number 14 spot.
Absolute Martian Manhunter #6 dropped from the number 10 spot to the number 22 spot. It is ironic that in the month that this six-issue limited series gets extended to twelve issues, Absolute Martian Manhunter scores the lowest sales ranking for an Absolute Universe issue that we have seen to this point. Of course, this is just a testament to the sales power of the Absolute Universe franchise that the “worst” selling title is still a Top 25 seller!
Supernatural Comics
57 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #11 (Marvel Comics)
59 Hellverine #9 (Marvel Comics)
68 Bring on the Bad Guys: Dormammu #1 (Marvel Comics)
69 Bring on the Bad Guys Mephisto #1 (Marvel Comics)
176 Resurrection Man Quantum Karma #5 (Of 6) (DC Comics)
Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #11 dipped from the number 51 spot to the number 57 spot. This is the third consecutive month this title has sold outside of the Top 50.
Hellverine #9 rebounded from the number 169 spot to the number 59 spot. This was to be expected since this title shipped two issues in June 2025. This was an improvement over Hellverine #7, which ranked in the number 74 spot.
Resurrection Man Quantum Karma #5 climbed back into the rankings at the number 176 spot. This title has been unranked for three of its five issues.
Cosmic Comics
11 Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 (Marvel Comics)
74 New Gods #9 (Of 12) (DC Comics)
147 Predator: Black, White & Blood #2 (Marvel Comics)
Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 had a nice debut at the number 11 spot. We shall see how this five-issue mini-series performs going forward.
Predator: Black, White & Blood #2 crashed and burned, falling from the number 46 spot to the number 147 spot. Readers were not impressed with what they received in the debut issue of this title.
New Gods #9 dropped from the number 63 spot to the number 74 spot. This title has managed to deliver its second consecutive month in the Top 75.
Legacy Character Comics
51 Supergirl #4 (DC Comics)

158 Mr Terrific Year One #4 (Of 6) (DC Comics)
195 The Flash #24 (DC Comics)
200 Spider-Girl #3 (Marvel Comics)
Unranked: Runaways #3 (Marvel Comics)
Unranked: New Champions #8 (Marvel Comics)
Unranked: Teen Titans Go! #6 (DC Comics)
There were zero comics in the Top 50. This was worse than July 2025, when there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Titans #26 dropped from the number 139 spot to the number 152 spot. This title needs a new creative team because it is forever a Dead Title Walking.
Runaways #3 fell from the number 165 spot and right out of the Top 200 to end up unranked. I mean, nobody other than a Marvel Comics editor can be surprised by this. Hiring Rainbow Rowell to write a mainstream superhero comic book doomed this title to being unranked in quick fashion.
New Champions #8 fell from the number 199 and out of the Top 200 to end up unranked. This title has now been unranked for three of its last four issues.
Mantle Swap Comics
37 All-New Venom #9 (Marvel Comics)

63 Eddie Brock: Carnage #7 (Marvel Comics)
70 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #36 (Marvel Comics)
95 Batgirl #10 (DC Comics)
105 Wolverines & Deadpools #2 (Marvel Comics)
112 Miles Morales Spider-Man #37 (Marvel Comics)
There were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was better than July 2025, when there were zero comics in the Top 50.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 50 in August 2024.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in August 2023.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 50 in August 2022.
This category continues to be unpopular with consumers. But Marvel Comics still seems to be obsessed with this approach. On the other hand, DC Comics has largely abandoned this approach.

Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Battle of the Top 25 by a score of 2-1. Neither publisher is impressing in the Battle for the Top 25.
Marvel Comics beat DC Comics in the Battle of the Top 50 by a score of 5-1. DC Comics continues to be utterly clueless in this battle. Which makes no sense given the impressive selection of female superheroes at their disposal. But to have success, DC Comics needs to start investing in better talent at the writer position for their female superheroes.
Gwenpool #4 climbed from the number 120 spot to the number 98 spot.

Marvel Comics managed to barely beat DC Comics in the Battle of the Top 50 by an unimpressive score of 1-0.
Neither publisher is doing a good job in this category, but DC Comics is particularly horrendous. The highest-ranked comic for DC Comics was Batgirl #10, which just barely avoided being a Dead Title Walking by snagging the number 95 spot. Gross.
Dead Titles Walking
