Robin #183 is the final issue as it gets canceled to make way for the “Battle of the Cowl” event. Nicieza brings back one of Robin’s deadliest foes to finish the series in a story called “Robin Dies At Dawn!”. He takes the time for a quick check on Tim’s (now ex-) girlfriend, the Spoiler, and Anarky (who wants to be Robin’s version of the Joker). Based on this story, you can expect to see the Spoiler and Anarky back in future storylines. The question is which series will they be in.

The main story is the showdown between Lady Shiva and Robin. Shiva outclasses Robin in every area except one. His mind. Robin shows that he is every bit the statigist that Batman was. He knows he would loose a one-on-one fight with Shiva so he plans ahead and sets his trap ahead of time. Nicieza deserves a bonus for this issue.

Williams’ art is a mixed bag to me. Some panels are really good. Others are very sparse and cartoony. I don’t know if he needs more time to draw an issue or if this is his prefered style. I just wish we would see more of the good panels.

Recommended to see the wrap up of this title and to see what direction Robin is headed. Also recommended for the teaser about Jason Todd.
