Blogroll Part 2

All right, it is time to continue our look at the comic book blogs that The Revolution loves to read.

Comic Book Legacy: This blog is run by Kevin and it focuses on comic book reviews, comic book movies and anime. Kevin cranks out some great reviews. Kevin adds just enough detail in his reviews to give the reader a great sense of the issue without spoiling the entire story. Kevin cranks out a nice amount of reviews each week. Kevin has a good critical eye and I have found that his recommendations are pretty spot on.

What is particularly cool about Comic Book Legacy is that Kevin also reviews episodes of super hero cartoons and anime as well. Kevin has a nice writing style and that make his reviews pleasant to read.

Comic By Comic: This is an excellent blog that focuses primarily on comic books and comic book movies. Rich does a fantastic job with this blog. Rich has a great sense of humor and this blog always has some highly entertaining posts. Lately, I have been enjoying Rich’s casting call for various Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood. Not only are they hilarious, but the actors that Rich has chosen have been perfect.

Comic Pants: This is a great team blog run by Nick Budd and David Martindale. Comic Pants touches on a wide variety of comic books. The guys crank out their “Weekly Ones” that are reviews that focus on their favorite issues of the week. Then the guys crank out their patented “Pants Stampede” which are quick bullet impressions of every comic book that they read that week that did not make it into the weekly ones. These reviews do an excellent job conveying their impressions in a concise but still informative manner. This is a very professional blog that is well worth checking out.

Comics In Crisis: This is a hilarious blog run by Brian Reaves. Brian delivers some humorous posts that investigate the odd and silly side of comic books. Some recent posts include topics such as stupid super powers and 10 lies that comics make us believe. Brian crafts some incredibly funny and entertaining posts. This is a nicely written blog that is definitely worth looking at.

Good Comics Should Be Good: I probably don’t need to give a shout out to this blog. I am sure that everyone is already familiar with Brian Cronin’s blog over at Comic Book Resources. Brian touches on an incredibly wide range of comic books. There is no publisher and genre that Brian does not review or discuss at some point. This is an intelligent and professional blog. Brian is a good writer and always delivers well crafted posts.

Diversions Of The Groovy Kind: The Groovy Agent runs this delightful blog. I absolutely adore Diversions of the Groovy Kind. This is such a wonderful flashback blog that focuses in on all the awesomeness of the comic books from the 1970’s. Groovy Agent’s posts always put a smile on my face. It is great to see the comics of the 1970’s getting plenty of love. If you missed out on the 1970’s then do yourself a favor and check out this blog.

Doomkopf: Jim Doom, Doom DeLuise, Doom Fritter, Fing Fang Doom and Doominator combine to deliver the team blog known as Doomkopf. I absolutely love Doomkopf. First, it is a great looking blog. The design is professional and a notch above blogs like my own blog! These guys deliver one fantastic blog. They review monthly comic books, trades, graphic novels and movies. These guys cover a nice range of comic books from Marvel and DC to small presses and all different kinds of genres. There is definitely something in this blog for all comic book fans.

The boys of Doom all craft nice reviews. They are able to combine a nice sense of humor with some rather insightful and intelligent criticism. And I have found their recommendations to be pretty dependable.

El Blog de Jotace: This is another one of the Spanish blogs that I like to frequent. Jotace_DT runs this blog. Yes, it is in Spanish, but there is a Google translation button for you English speaking people. The blog is a better read if you can read Spanish because Jocate_DT’s humor works better when read in Spanish than in the Google translated English. The “Big Culo Day” posts really got me chuckling. “Culo” means “ass” for you non-Spanish speakers out there. Jocate_DT gives us some classic ass shots of various comic book characters throughout the many decades of comic books.

This is a passionate blog that offers some pretty funny observations about comic books in general. Jocate_DT will muse about older comics just as soon as he will with newer comics. There are also plenty of nice scans on this blog.

Every Day Is Like Wednesday: This blog is the creation of J. Caleb Mozzocco. Caleb does a fantastic job with this blog. First, I have to give props to anyone who uses a Morrissey song as the basis for their blog title. Caleb reviews monthly comic books, trades and graphic novels. This blog covers a wide range of comic books from Marvel and DC as well as plenty of Indie comic books as well. I enjoy learning about graphic novels that I would have never known about if not for Caleb’s reviews. The recent review of “The Lagoon” is a good example of this.

Caleb’s reviews are intelligent, detailed and insightful. Of course, Caleb also delivers some nicely done humorous posts like his series of “Man up, Martian Manhunter!” posts. Definitely check this blog out.
