BOOM! Studios Reveal New Power Rangers Infinity Team

Recently it was announced that the Darkest Hour event would mark the end of BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers era. This was paired with the announcement about Playmates Toys acquiring the license to produce and distribute Power Rangers toys in starting in 2025. That created questions if Hasbro would continue their partnership with BOOM! Studios for more Power Rangers comic books. Now we have a hint of the future as BOOM! Studios and Hasbro have announced a new one-shot titled Power Rangers Infinity.

The new Power Rangers one-shot will be handled by former Green Lantern and Star-Lord writer Sam Humphries and Crowded art team know as Brandt & Stein. BOOM! Studios pitch for Power Rangers Infinity teases the following:

Diehard Rangers fangirl Lola somehow finds herself mixed up in a marvelous mess of multiversal madness! Lola, along with a ragtag team of off-kilter Rangers from across the Grid–dubbed “Infinity Force”–must come together to face off against the mildly dangerous D-list villainess Poisandra who has managed to snake her way across the fragile multiverse.

Speaking on what to expect from Power Rangers Infinity Sam Humphries had the following to say:

“Fans are already saying that out of all the Power Rangers comic books that reference hockey goalies AND Jane Austen, Power Rangers Infinity is the greatest of all time……I’m truly honored, and I absolutely couldn’t have done it without Ted and Ro. Not only is their art hilarious and heartbreaking, but they never once said it shouldn’t be done. Not one time!”

Brandt & Stein had the following to add about their work on the Power Rangers Infinity one-shot:

“It was an honour to be asked to contribute to the Power Rangers mythos, but Sam’s story made it a delight….A story of triumph and the washed-up dregs of aborted teams and more heart than it could reasonably lay claim to? How on earth could we say no to that? Now give us that Peggy spinoff!”

The Power Rangers Infinity one-shot is scheduled to be released in comic book shops and digital storefronts on August 21st. When released the main cover will be done by Paulina Ganucheau with variant covers by Brandt & Stein, Goñi Montes, and Sweeney Boo. Check out the covers below:
