HIGHLIGHTS FROM POWER RANGERS PRIME #12
Completing Power Rangers Episodic Debut Structure
Power Rangers Prime #12 solidifies the episodic approach to storytelling to this initial run. This issue ends in a way that you do feel like you just experienced a three episode debut of a new Power Rangers series. It is an important tone to hit as we are in a period without a new Power Rangers TV series. Melissa Flores and Michael Yg are really filling in that hole with the story structure that is paid off well in this twelfth issue.
Lauren Shiba & Rita Repulsa Lead the Way
Lauren Shiba and Rita Repulsa have been the consistent force that Power Rangers Prime needed. Through all the ups and downs of this series Lauren and Rita have been here to keep the story going. They play that role once again in this finale. Their roles are perfectly fitting to their respective character arcs. And it speaks to the strength of their arcs that Lauren and Rita can shift between leading certain panels and playing supporting roles with ease. It makes all the other characters stronger because they can shift between these two roles.

New Power Rangers Cast Shine
Power Rangers Prime #12 is by far the best issue for the new cast members. That goes for the Prime Rangers, Eltarians, and VR Troopers. Even though not every story beat for these characters has been on point you do feel like there is a payoff for everyone’s arcs. That shows the strengths of Flores and Yg’s storytelling that the payoffs are rewarding. Everything from the action to words makes sense to who these characters have grown to be.
Every Character Makes an Important Decision
By the end of this finale every character is forced to make an important decision. Creating a structure where every character ends up having to make a key decision shows the impact of these twelve issues. Every character arc came together to leave each Power Ranger, VR Trooper, and Eltarian in a spot that has something interesting going on. It helps drive home how this is a great entry point for the Power Rangers, hitting an important aspect of every new series in the franchise. By doing so a future where you are invested in every character is where we are left off.

Power Rangers #12 does its job of delivering a strong conclusion to the initial run for this series. There is a payoff to every character arc from both the protagonist and antagonist side of things. By the end we are left in a spot where you will be very invested in seeing where things will go next. The investment that’s created is so strong you are left excited for the future of Power Rangers Prime.
