April 2025 Comic Book Sales Rankings

April 2025 Comic Book Sales Rankings

It is time to check out the April 2025 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we must settle for going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we must work with what we get.

Keep in mind that the Top 200 sales rankings are based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at over 125 local comic book shops selling American comics. These sales rankings represent sales to consumers by local comic shops.

We all know that these ICv2 sales charts based on the ComicHub system are not the best. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics, this is the best that we have to go by. You do see that these sales charts give a rough sketch of the market because titles that get canceled correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.

The data for the April 2025 comic book sales rankings was collected based on a five-week month, from April 6 to May 4, 2025.

You can go over to ICv2 and check out the Top 50 for April 2025 for free, or opt for a pro membership (It is well worth the money) and get the Top 200 for April 2025, and then come back here for a detailed analysis of the April 2025 comic book sales rankings!

As always, DC Comics relies entirely on the Absolute Universe and Bruce Wayne to power its sales success. The Top 10 titles for DC Comics included four Absolute Universe titles and Batman.

This is the area of the April 2025 Sales Chart where things get interesting. From this point on, we will see titles that normally are unranked or sell in the Dead Titles Walking category, placing higher in the sales chart. There are two reasons for this.

First, as Marvel Comics declines in sales, the more we see that DC Comics and smaller publishers are able to crack into the Top 200. Second, Marvel Comics only had fifty-eight new comics in April 2025. That is far off the pace of the eighty-eight new comics that Marvel Comics unleashed last month in April 2025. The vacuum left behind by Marvel Comics, not saturating the market with titles in April 2025, is naturally filled by DC Comics and small publisher titles that normally are unranked or lower in the Top 200.

DC Comics placed twenty comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the fourteen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in March 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had nine comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had eleven comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had thirteen comics in the Top 50 in April 2022.

DC Comics continues to take advantage of a lack of Marvel Comics titles flooding the market in May 2025 and the decline in sales numbers by Marvel Comics.

Image Comics placed three comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the two comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in March 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as Image Comics had six comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were flat from two years ago, as Image Comics had three comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

The Battle for the Top 75

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-two comics in the Top 75 in April 2022.

We continue to see that Marvel Comics cutting back on the number of new comics in May 2025, compared to a normal month, begins to massively impact their performance in the sales chart.

DC Comics placed twenty-seven comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the twenty comics that DC Comics had in the Top 75 in March 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had twelve comics in the Top 75 in April 2024.

Image Comics placed five comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the six comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in March 2025.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Image Comics had six comics in the Top 75 in April 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Image Comics had six comics in the Top 75 in April 2022.

This highlights how critical the Hasbro franchise titles have become to Image Comics. Image Comics has to address this quickly if it wants to remain relevant in the Top 75.

IDW Publishing placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that IDW Publishing had in the Top 75 in March 2025.

Numbers were also up from two years ago, as Oni Press had zero comics in the Top 75 in April 2023.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had sixty-one comics in the Top 100 in April 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had fifty comics in the Top 100 in April 2022.

Marvel Comics has made so many missteps launching new comics that have died out of the gate and been canceled before they can even hit twelve issues. The result is the sudden drop in the sales charts.

DC Comics placed thirty-six comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the twenty-eight comics that DC Comics had in the Top 100 in March 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had twenty comics in the Top 100 in April 2024.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had thirty-three comics in the Top 100 in April 2022.

Again, I do not think any of DC Comics’ titles sold better than they did in prior months. It was just the lack of the normal amount of Marvel Comics titles that allowed DC Comics to rise up the rankings.

Image Comics placed ten comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the nine comics that Image Comics had in the Top 100 in March 2025.

The Joshua Williamson Award For The Writer With The Most Titles In The Top 50

Three writers had more than one issue from the same title in the Top 50.

Jed MacKay averaged the number 37 spot.

Joshua Williamson averaged the number 26 spot.

Deniz Camp averaged the number 17 spot.

However, Joe Kelly blew everyone away by averaging the number 6 spot. The fact that Kelly placed three comics in the Top 10 is insane! That is a feat you don’t often see.

Therefore, the winner of the Joshua Williamson Award for April 2025 is…Joe Kelly!

177 Doom’s Division #1 (Doom) (Marvel Comics) (Resolictiation)

196 One World Under Doom #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolictiation)

One World Under Doom had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10 but better in the Top 50 than March 2025, when One World Under Doom had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Marvel Comics’ big event continues to underperform. It must be massively disappointing for the big event title to sell outside of the Top 10. It is also disappointing to see five of the eight tie-in issues selling outside of the Top 50. This big event has not been a smash hit with readers.

Hasbro Franchise

15 Transformers #19

29 GI Joe #6

77 Void Rivals #18

100 GI Joe: A Real American Hero Jinx #1 (One-Shot)

105 GI Joe: A Real American Hero Spirit #1 (One-Shot)

129 GI Joe: A Real American Hero Roadblock #1 (One-Shot)

192 GI Joe: A Real American Hero Beach Head #1 (One-Shot)

The Hasbro franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in March 2025, when the Hasbro franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were worse as the Hasbro franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Transformers #19 clocked in at the number 15 spot, which is the same spot this title took in April 2025.

Void Rivals #18 fell from the number 53 spot to the number 77 spot.

GI Joe #6 ticked up from the number 32 spot to the number 29 spot. The days of this title being a constant Top 25 seller seem to be over.

All of the GI Joe: A Real American Hero one-shot issues were a massive sales failure, even in a soft sales month with Marvel Comics not shipping their usual amount of titles. Three of the four were in the Dead Titles Walking category. And the Jinx issue that avoided the Dead Title Walking category did so just barely by taking the number 100 spot.

Spawn Franchise

43 Medieval Spawn #1  (Of 4)

62 Spawn #363

112 King Spawn #44

115 Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #5

Spawn #363 climbed from the number 71 spot to the number 62 spot.

King Spawn #44 rocketed up from the number 176 spot to the number 112, which is far higher than we have historically seen this title. This is more evidence of titles climbing up higher in the rankings than usual due to Marvel Comics not selling as well and shipping far fewer titles this month, which all combine to lower the ceiling.

Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #5 also shot up from the number 147 spot to the number 115 spot. Again, see above.

Gunslinger Spawn #42 rocketed up from the number 178 spot to the number 178 spot to the number 118 spot. Again, far higher than this title has historically sold due to the aforementioned reasons.

Spawn Rat City #13 went from unranked and climbed back into the rankings to the number 180 spot. Again, the aforementioned reasons allowed several titles that are usually unranked to sneak back into the Top 200.

Ghost Machine Titles

69 Geiger #13

92 Redcoat #11

Unranked: Hornsby & Halo #6

Unranked: The Rocketfellers #5

Ghost Machine had zero comics in the Top 50. This was the same as in March 2025, when Ghost Machine had zero comics in the Top 50.

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #17 (Dark Horse Comics)

Unranked: Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – The Battle of Eriadu #1 (Dark Horse Comics)

The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was the same as in March 2025, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #3 dropped from the number 70 spot to the number 75 spot.

Star Wars: The High Republic – Fear of the Jedi #3 climbed back into the rankings and took the number 181 spot. Again, due to the aforementioned reasons about Marvel Comics, we see another title that was unranked being able to take advantage of the vacuum left by Marvel Comics and sneak back into the Top 200.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #3 was unranked for the second consecutive month. Nobody was asking for this adaptation.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – The Battle of Eriadu #1 had an embarrassing debut and failed to make the Top 200 and went unranked. Ah, here we have the patented reverse Midas touch of Alyssa Wong in action once again. We also get another High Republic title that is a complete sales failure. This is just more proof that the Lucasfilm story group is clueless as to what readers want from them.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #1 also had an awful and failed to make the Top 200 and went unranked. I am unsure why anyone would have thought readers would be interested in a Poe Dameron title.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #17 was unranked, like it has always been. This will never change.

The Star Wars franchise remains in a complete state of failure with very little hope going forward.

155 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #5

157 Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32 (Resolictiation)

171 Amazing Spider-Man #69 (Resolictiation)

The Spider-Man franchise had four comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was better in the Top 10 and Top 25 but down in the Top 50 compared to March 2025, when the Spider-Man franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up in the Top 10 but down in the Top 25 and Top 50, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had four comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were up in the Top 10 and Top 25, but down in the Top 50 from three years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in April 2022.

Peter Parker placed five comics in the Top 11! All five Spider-Man franchise issues in the Top 50 are Peter Parker titles. Eight of the twelve in the Top 100 are Peter Parker titles.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 had a monster debut, elbowing out the onslaught of Absolute Universe titles, Loeb’s Batman, and the Ultimate Universe titles to take the number 1 spot. Impressive. Never underestimate the unmatched sales power of Peter Parker.

Amazing Spider-Man #2 then dropped from the number 1 spot to the number 9 spot. Phenomenal. Placing two comics from the same title in the Top 10 is incredibly difficult.

Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 had an excellent debut at the number 8 spot. The combination of Godzilla and Peter Parker is like the unrivaled combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Unstoppable.

Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 had an impressive debut at the number 11 spot. Benjamin Percy has another hit on his hands with this four-issue mini-series.

Spectacular Spider-Men #14 bounced up from the number 110 spot to the number 90 spot.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #5 snuck back into the Top 200 and took the number 155 spot. The aforementioned reasons for this soft sales month allowed this title, which was unranked, to rank higher than normal.

Let’s check out the sole lady of the Spider-Man franchise.

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #12 ticked up from the number 101 to the number 91 spot. This is another Dead Title Walking that took advantage of the aforementioned reasons for this soft sales month to climb back into the Top 100.

Let’s hop over to the Venomverse.

Web of Venomverse: Fresh Brains #1 had a pedestrian debut even in a soft month, with the number 54 spot. Not a lot of readers were crazy for this one-shot issue.

Eddie Brock Carnage #3 ticked down from the number 77 spot to the number 78 spot.

147 Kid Juggernaut #1

154 Sabretooth The Dead Don’t Talk #5

183 Magik #3 (Resolictiation)

187 Rogue: The Savage Land #3 (Resolictiation)

The X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50. This was worse than March 2025, when the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and fifteen comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as the X-Men franchise had three comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were down in the Top 10 but up in the Top 25 and Top 50 from three years ago, as the X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in April 2022.

We are seeing the X-Men franchise cooling off compared to a year ago, when this franchise saw a massive relaunch.

Let’s start with the three “flagship” core team titles.

Uncanny X-Men #13 took the number 14 spot, which is the same spot this title took in March 2025.

X-Men #15 climbed from the number 33 spot to the number 20 spot.

Exceptional X-Men #8 ticked up from the number 47 spot to the number 46 spot. The aforementioned reasons for this soft sales month allowed this title to stay in the Top 50 for one more month. Exceptional X-Men continues to be the sales dog of the three flagship titles.

Let’s hop over to the secondary team titles.

X-Force #10 ticked up from the number 65 spot to the number 61 spot. With this issue, X-Force concludes.

X-Factor #9 fell from the number 63 spot to the number 83 spot. It never made any sense to think that Mark Russell was a good choice to helm a mainstream superhero comic book. This title will be cancelled with the next issue.

NYX #10 crashed and burned, falling from the number 41 spot to the number 109 spot. Welp, all the readers who hopped aboard NYX #9 for the Manhunt tie-in story immediately dropped this title. Zero surprise. NYX was canceled with issue #10, so this Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly misfire is officially done.

Weapon X-Men #3 ticked up from the number 112 spot to the number 110 spot. This title is continuing the trend of the X-Men franchise’s secondary team titles failing in the sales chart.

Let’s check out the duo titles.

Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 51 spot. This trip down Amnesia Lane from Chris Claremont failed to find an audience. A large part of that is probably because readers who would have had any fondness for this title were chased away by Marvel Comics years ago.

Deadpool/Wolverine #4 fell from the number 55 spot to the number 64 spot. This five-issue mini-series is likely to conclude outside of the Top 75.

Let’s hop over to the dudes of the X-Men franchise.

Wolverine #8 ticked up from the number 24 spot to the number 16 spot.

Cable: Love and Chrome #4 climbed from the number 162 spot to the number 96 spot. This is the same place in the rankings that Cable: Love and Chrome #2 scored in February 2025.

Kid Juggernaut #1 had a hideous debut in the number 147 spot. This is another title on a long list where Marvel Comics’ editorial is delivering comics nobody was asking for.

Sabretooth The Dead Don’t Talk #5 climbed from the number 181 spot to the number 154 spot. With this issue, this mini-series has concluded. This title was a sales failure for Marvel Comics.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the X-Men franchise.

Magik #4 fell from the number 17 spot to the number 24 spot. It is amazing that this title is still in the Top 25. I did not expect that for a character like Magik, who has no history of sales success. Of course, the art is phenomenal and is surely driving a significant portion of the sales.

Storm #7 dipped from the number 36 spot to the number 39 spot. This title continues to hang tough in the Top 50. This is another title that has exceeded my expectations.

Rogue: The Savage Land #4 ticked down from the number 43 spot to the number 47 spot. I love that this title is still in the Top 50!

Laura Kinney: Wolverine #5 climbed from the number 69 spot to the number 53 spot. Even in a soft sales month, this title could not crack back into the Top 50. Those days may be behind this title.

Phoenix #10 dipped from the number 72 spot to the number 73 spot. This title should be dropping out of the Top 75 in the next month.

Avengers Franchise

17 Ultimates #11

40 Avengers #25 (Doom)

41 Superior Avengers #1 (Doom)

56 Ultimate Black Panther #15

59 Iron Man #7

101 Red Hulk #3 (Doom)

131 Thunderbolts: Doomstrike #3 (Doom)

142 Immortal Thor #22 (Resolictiation)

158 Sam Wilson: Captain America #4

162 West Coast Avengers #6 (Resolictiation)

190 Incredible Hulk #23 (Resolictiation)

The Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to March 2025, when the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Avengers franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in April 2022.

Avengers #25 dipped from the number 38 spot to the number 40 spot. This title continues to be a lock for the bottom half of the Top 50.

Superior Avengers #1 had an unimpressive debut, barely making the Top 50 at the number 41 spot. Not many readers were excited for this Steve Foxe-penned One World Under Doom tie-in six-issue mini-series.

Thunderbolts: Doomstrike #3 clocked in at the number 131 spot, which is the same spot issue #2 took in the March 2025 sales ranking. Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly continue to have no sales success.

Iron Man #7 dipped from the number 58 spot to the number 59 spot. This is the first time in seven issues that this title has not varied wildly from its prior month’s rankings. We shall see if Mr. Emma Frost is finally finding some stability in the sales rankings.

Red Hulk #3 fell from the number 88 spot to the number 101 spot. This title continues to do worse than I had anticipated.

Sam Wilson: Captain America #4 climbed from the number 190 spot to the number 158 spot. The aforementioned reasons for this soft sales month allowed this title to avoid dropping out of the Top 200. We shall see what happens once Marvel Comics resumes shipping its normal number of comics. At any rate, this title continues to be a sales disaster for Marvel Comics and more proof that the editorial staff is clueless as to what their customers want from them.

Fantastic Four Franchise

13 One World Under Doom #3

36 Fantastic Four #31 (Doom)

113 Doom Academy #3 (Doom)

122 Doom’s Division #2 (Doom)

146 Fantastic Four #30 (Doom) (Resolictiation)

148 Fantastic Four #4 Facsimile Edition

177 Doom’s Division #1 (Doom) (Resolictiation)

196 One World Under Doom #1 (Resolictiation)

The Fantastic Four franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was worse than March 2025, when the Fantastic Four franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Fantastic Four #31 fell from the number 31 spot to the number 36 spot. Wow. The One World Under Doom big event has been a massive disappointment for the Fantastic Four title. This title continues to sell worse than Fantastic Four #28, the last issue before One World Under Doom debuted, which took the number 22 spot in January 2025.

Doom Academy #3 fell from the number 96 spot to the number 113 spot. The free fall continues for this bizarre decision of a comic from a no-name writer, Mackenzie Cadenhead. This is just another example of Marvel Comics’ editorial being completely disconnected from their customer base.

Doom’s Division #2 crashed and burned, falling from the number 50 spot to the number 122 spot. This was no surprise. Tiger Division has never had any sales success. I am probably the only person who finds this team interesting.

The Ultimate Universe

5 Ultimate Wolverine #4

10 Ultimate Spider-Man #16

17 Ultimates #11

56 Ultimate Black Panther #15

65 Ultimate Spider-Man #15 (Resolictiation)

87 Ultimate X-Men #14 (Resolicitation)

104 Ultimate Wolverine #3 (Resolictiation)

The Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50. This was flat in the Top 10 and Top 25 and worse in the Top 50 than March 2025, when the Ultimate Universe had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 50, as the Ultimate Universe had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Ultimate Wolverine #4 climbed from the number 9 spot to the number 5 spot. Incredible. This title continues to be white-hot.

Ultimate Spider-Man #16 dipped from the number 7 spot to the number 10 spot. This sales juggernaut is refusing to drop out of the Top 10.

Ultimates #11 dipped from the number 16 spot to the number 17 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has sold outside of the Top 10. It looks like those days are behind this title as it settles into being a consistent Top 25 selling comic.

Ultimate Black Panther #15 climbed from the number 66 spot to the number 56 spot. This is the second consecutive month this title has sold outside of the Top 50. This has always been the weakest-selling Ultimate Universe title, and it looks like it is now going to be a constant Top 75 seller.

Batman Franchise

125 Absolute Batman #2 (Resolictiation)

126 Absolute Batman #3 (Resolictiation)

127 Harley Quinn #50

170 Absolute Batman #5 (Resolictiation)

173 Batman the Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #6 (Of 10) (Resolictiation)

178 Poison Ivy #32 (Resolictiation)

The Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50. This was better than March 2025, when the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as the Batman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were flat from two years ago, as the Batman franchise had two comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and six comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were up in the Top 10 but down in the Top 25 and Top 50 from three years ago, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50 in April 2022.

All three Batman franchise titles in the Top 25 were Bruce Wayne comics. All six Batman franchise titles in the Top 50 were Bruce Wayne comics. The top nine selling Batman franchise comics were Bruce Wayne comics. Twelve of the thirteen Batman franchise comics in the Top 100 starred Bruce Wayne. The only non-Bruce Wayne comic in the Top 100 was Nightwing #125.

Batman #159 dipped from the number 1 spot to the number 3 spot. The old man Jeph Loeb still has it!

Detective Comics #1096 climbed from the number 52 spot to the number 31 spot. Tom Taylor finally cracks the Top 50 since taking over this title from Ram V.

Batman Superman World’s Finest #38 climbed from the number 73 spot to the number 35 spot. This is the highest we have seen this title in months. We shall see if this is a momentary blip due to Marvel Comics’ lack of shipping their normal amount of titles, or if this is a real rebound in the sales chart.

Batman: The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #7 ticked down from the number 49 spot to the number 55 spot. This is the first time this ten-issue mini-series has sold outside of the Top 50.

Batman Dark Patterns #5 climbed from the number 89 spot to the number 67 spot. It looks like this twelve-issue mini-series is going to be unable to return to the Top 50.

Batman and Robin #20 rebounded from the number 126 spot to the number 99 spot. This title barely escaped the Dead Titles Walking category in a weak sales month. The All-In initiative writer swap continues to undermine this title.

Let’s check out the sole Bat-Boy title.

Nightwing #125 climbed from the number 83 spot to the number 71 spot. This once constant Top 50 seller is now lucky to just be back in the Top 75. On the plus side, Nightwing continues to be the only Batman franchise comic not starring Bruce Wayne that is able to make the Top 100.

Let’s conclude with the ladies of the Batman franchise.

Catwoman #75 climbed from the number 163 spot to the number 119 spot. This is still lower than Catwoman #73, which took the number 113 spot. Torunn Grønbekk is somehow managing to do the impossible and deliver sales numbers as bad as Tini Howard’s. It has been such a long time since DC Comics placed a quality mainstream superhero writer on Catwoman.

Harley Quinn #50 bounced up from the number 185 spot to the number 127 spot. The aforementioned reasons for a soft sales month appear to have pulled Harley Quinn up to the highest ranking in the sales chart that we have seen since Elliot Kalan took over this title. Still, Kalan’s run continues to be as bad a sales disaster as Tini Howard’s run.

Superman Franchise

18 Summer of Superman Special #1 (One-Shot)

26 Absolute Superman #6

32 Superman #25

35 Batman Superman World’s Finest #38 (We Are Yesterday)

117 Superman #233 Facsimile Edition

139 Superman The Last Days of Lex Luthor #3 (Of 3)

197 Power Girl #20

The Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10 and Top 25 but better in the Top 50 than March 2025, when the Superman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25, but up in the Top 50, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were down in the Top 10 and Top 25 and flat in the Top 50 from two years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in April 2023.

Numbers were flat in the Top 10 and Top 25, but up in the Top 50 from two years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in April 2022.

Summer of Superman Special #1 had a nice debut, taking the number 18 spot.

Superman #25 climbed from the number 61 spot to the number 32 spot. This ended this title’s two-month stint outside of the Top 50. DC Comics desperately needs this title to remain a constant Top 50 seller.

Action Comics #1085 bounced up from the number 109 spot to the number 84 spot. Action Comics has now sold outside of the Top 50 in five of the past six issues. This is a disaster for DC Comics. There was little reader interest in G. Willow Wilson’s two-part story on this title.

Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor #3 climbed from the number 157 spot to the number 139 spot. With this issue, this three-issue mini-series has concluded. This title was a sales failure for DC Comics.

Power Girl #20 barely squeaked back into the Top 200 and took the number 197 spot after going unranked for two months. This is another title that historically has had awful sales numbers that got a boost due to Marvel Comics creating a vacuum with their low number of titles shipped this month.

Justice League Franchise

4 Absolute Flash #2

6 Absolute Martian Manhunter #2 (Of 6)

150 Justice League Unlimited #5 (Resolictiation)

156 Green Lantern Dark #4 (Of 7)

193 Absolute Wonder Woman #5 (Resolictiation)

Unranked: Metamorphosis: The Element Man #5

The Justice League franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10, but better in the Top 25 and Top 50 than March 2025, when the Justice League franchise had four comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in April 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as the Justice League franchise had one comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in April 2022.

Justice League Unlimited #6 ticked up from the number 23 spot to the number 21 spot.

DC X Sonic the Hedgehog #2 had a solid debut, taking the number 25 spot. This was higher than I anticipated. It will be interesting to see how this five-issue mini-series performs.

Let’s check out the Green Lantern franchise.

Green Lantern Corps #3 ticked up from the number 80 spot to the number 74 spot. This title managed to barely sneak back into the Top 75. I would expect this title, with its weak cast of characters, to fall back in the rankings with the next issue.

Green Lantern #22 climbed from the number 128 spot to the number 95 spot. The decision to co-star Kyle Rayner on this title has continued to lead to lower sales numbers.

Green Lantern Dark #4 climbed from the number 180 spot to the number 156 spot. This has been a Dead Title Walking from the jump. Nobody cares about this Elseworld tale from Tate Brombal. DC Comics editorial likes to roll out titles that are a total miss with the consumer.

Aquaman #4 took the number 79 spot, which is the same spot Aquaman #3 took in March 2025. It is terrible news that this comic cannot be a consistent Top 50 or even a consistent Top 75 seller. DC Comics desperately needs franchises outside of Bruce Wayne and the Absolute Universe that can consistently sell well each month.

The Flash #20 climbed back in the rankings and took the number 130 spot. This is another title that has historically sold awfully, but managed to take advantage of the soft sales months due to sneak up the sales rankings. This tile continues to be a dumpster fire. The Flash should be a constant Top 50 seller. There is no excuse for DC Comics with their total failure on this franchise.

Green Arrow #23 climbed up from the number 193 spot to the number 143 spot. This title continues to be another huge underperformer for DC Comics.

Metamorphosis: The Element Man #5 was unranked for the third consecutive month. I love Metamorpho, but Al Ewing has completely thrown up all over himself with this title.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.

Zatanna #3 climbed from the number 42 spot to the number 34 spot. Pretty cool to see my favorite female JLA’er still hanging in the Top 50!

Wonder Woman #20 rebounded from the number 82 spot to the number 48 spot. This title just barely snuck back into the Top 50. Wonder Woman is part of the Trinity and one of the most iconic DC Comics characters. She should be doing better than this.

Fire & Ice When Hell Freezes Over #1 had an embarrassing debut at the number 102 spot. It’s never good to debut as a Dead Title Walking. But this was all so predictable that anyone other than a DC Comics editor knew this was going to happen. The decision to hire Joanne Starer for a mainstream superhero comic book is beyond mystifying. Starer has never had anything other than spectacular sales failures. This six-issue mini-series is already cooked.

This was worse in the Top 10 and Top 25, but better in the Top 50 than March 2025, when the Absolute Universe had six comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50.

Absolute Batman #7 ticked up from the number 3 spot to the number 2 spot. Absolute Batman continues to be the crown jewel of the Absolute Universe.

Absolute Wonder Woman #7 ticked down from the number 6 spot to the number 7 spot. The Absolute Universe is so phenomenal that it has even made a writer like Kelly Thompson, with a history of zero sales success, enjoy a Top 10 selling title! The Absolute Universe is nearly unstoppable.

Perhaps DC Comics’ editorial team will reconsider hiring Hollywood actors as writers for their mainstream superhero comic books.
