I always liked the original Kobra series (Jack Kirby, etc). It layed out the basic storyline that Kobra would follow over the years. One of the major players in it was the good brother who opposed Kobra. This story builds on how the new Kobra is selected/trained. Of all the “Faces of Evil” stories, this is the best I have read.

The author lays out a logical reason for why the new person becomes Kobra. Kobra appears to be even more vicious than the previous one. This is one of the few times where it seems that the villain is thinking before he makes any moves. His plans are well thought out. If Kobra continues to be handled this way, the heroes are in for some bad times.

If this would lead into a new Kobra series, I hope this creative team gets the assignment. Brandon, Lopez and Farmer make a good team. This is one “Face of Evil” that actually seems evil.

Highly recommended.
