Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: 10 Biggest Takeaways

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: 10 Biggest Takeaways

Marvel Comics December 2025 comic book solicitations are here! December will see Marvel deal with the fallout from One World Under Doom. At the same time Marvel will not be waiting long to begin their next big event. Their next big event comes in the form of Ultimate Endgame, the event they used the two year existence of the new Ultimate Universe to build up to. What else did Marvel Comics December 2025 solicitations reveal? Find out with our breakdown of the ten biggest takeaways from Marvel Comics December 2025 solicitations.

10) NEW SPIDER-MAN & WOLVERINE FUSION DEBUTS

Marvel is not waiting for DC Comics to create more amalgamation characters to debut. The new character is being positioned as a villain. The design for the character is hidden by the shadows, but the silhouette shows a lot of Spider-Man and Wolverine elements to them.

To Kaare Andrews credit the cover for Spider-Man & Wolverine #8 does give this new character a throwback to the 90s. This very much has the vibe of just throwing an idea out there to see if it works. And the solicitation does tease there may be a DBZ fusion element with Peter and Logan having met their “demise” just as this new character debuts. We’ll see what happened soon enough.

9) MARVEL SWIMSUITS RETURN FOR WINTER BREAK SPECIAL

Marvel wasted no time in making sure they follow up on the success of bringing back their Swimsuit Special. Afterall, having to wait until Summer 2026 is way to long for Marvel that of course they’ll get impatient in doing a follow-up. So what better way to follow-up than having the heroes throw on their swimsuits for a winter special. That really shows how hot Marvel’s heroes are that the cold New York winter is not enough to cool them off.

Jokes aside, the Marvel Winter Break Special is not at all surprising to see happen. Marvel wastes no time taking what made something special and driving it into the ground until it is no longer special.

8) THE END OF 2099 MARVEL UNIVERSE

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: The End 2099 #1

After trying so hard to make the 2099 Universe an alternative within their publishing line Marvel is finally bringing it to an end. That ending is coming thanks to The End 2099 mini-series by Steve Orlando and Ibraim Roberson. And of course, to make The End 2099 as big as possible the multiverse is being brought into the story.

Based on the solicitation for The End 2099 it certainly seems like Orlando and Roberson are taking some inspiration from Secret Wars. Choosing the Age of Apocalypse Wolverine, Claremont/Byrn Cyclops and Marvel Girl, and House of M’s Scarlet Witch plays into that. Picking these specific may be a way to attract non-2099 fans to pick up the comic. Though given that none of the present day Marvel Universe characters are part of the sales pitch it does not seem The End 2099 will have lasting impact. If it did Marvel would’ve promoted Iron Man or others involvement as well.

7) MARY JANE WATSON UPGRADES VENOM DESIGN

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: Venom #252

The impact that Mary Jane Watson is having on Venom will continue with yet another redesign. Keeping with her background as a model MJ is switching things up to go from the black and gold look to be a Venom version of Spider-Man’s iconic red and blue costume. Marvel is selling this as an homage to Spider-Man’s first appearance in the black suit, even having MJ’s Venom take similar poses for the covers.

While Marvel would like credit for trying something new with Venom this redesign could indicate things aren’t going well for the series. Venom has been one of Marvel’s better selling comics and they didn’t do a whole lot to redesign the character until now. But going through yet another redesign within a year since Venom’s relaunch with MJ feels like a desperate attempt to pump up sales.

If that is the case it is likely needed since Marvel has teased a Venom-centric Spider-Man event for 2026. So they need to have Venom have as much attention to it as possible so that Amazing Spider-Man isn’t carrying the event on its back.

6) FALL OUT FROM ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: The Will of Doom

Outside of the decision of who will be the new Sorcerer Supreme Marvel is staying quiet about what the impact of One World Under Doom will be. There are only four comics that have direct call outs to deal with One World Under Doom. Two of those will be the one-shots, The Will of Doom and previously Sorcerer Supreme. Then there is the new Doctor Strange series that will deal with that character’s status quo. Finally, in terms of ongoings Captain America is the only ongoing dealing with One World Under Doom’s impact.

It certainly stands out that after dedicating almost all of 2025 that One World Under Doom would not have a greater immediate impact. Marvel made fans invest nine months into this event that it feels like a waste that there doesn’t appear to be a greater impact from the event. Titles like Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Iron Man would be expected to deal with One World Under Doom fallout.

One World Under Doom’s lack of impact may just speak to Marvel’s overall view on big events. They are quick to move on from one big event to another. So even for an event they dedicated a year to doesn’t matter as they move on to whatever event is next in 2026. We’ll see if that is true in December.

5) X-MEN AGE OF REVELATION COMES TO AN END

The X-Men: Age of Revelation will come to a close in December. With that we will see what the payoff for the entire X-Men franchise being paused was about. It is a major risk that Marvel took pausing the current line to go all in on the X-Men: Age of Revelation timeline.

Now we already know that we will know what comes out of X-Men: Age of Revelation during October’s New York Comic-Con. The X-Men new publishing line-up will include the return of Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, and Wolverine. Those three titles will be joined by two new titles in Cyclops and Wade Wilson: Deadpool. This will all be part of the new X-Men direction known as Shadows of Tomorrow.

While we got five titles announced for the Shadows of Tomorrow direction the X-Men line will likely be expanded on. There will be at least one or two new X-Men team books that will be tied directly to how the Agen of Revelation ends. Then there are other solo titles that could return or be announced such as Storm or Phoenix. Emma Frost may be primed for a solo title as Marvel has invested a lot in establishing her importance in the Marvel Universe.

4) BLACK PANTHER’S NEW COSMIC DIRECTION

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: Black Panther: Intergalactic #1

The fallout from Imperial will continue as Black Panther gets a new series to join Nova and She-Hulk for Marvel’s new cosmic direction. Unlike with other cosmic empires Wakanda isn’t solely based on galaxy politics. There is still a large Wakanda’s presence on Earth. That appears to continue as Black Panther: Intergalactic #1 teases Wakanda’s presence on Earth and with the Galactic Council.

Adding a bit of intrigue to Black Panther: Intergalactic is that Marvel is coming out of the gate establishing it’s a four-issue mini-series. Both Nova: Centurion and Planet She-Hulk are being sold as ongoings so that creates a question why Black Panther: Intergalactic is a mini-series. The reason for Black Panther: Intergalactic mini-series status could be that it is to set up Black Panther’s 2026 direction.

Afterall, we do have Black Panther featured in the current Avengers line-up so Marvel can’t take T’Challa off Earth on a permanent basis. What Black Panther: Intergalactic could be setting up is how T’Challa and Shuri manage Wakanda’s reach across the Marvel Universe. Based on how Imperial has gone and Black Panther: Intergalactic #1 solicitation Shuri seems to be set-up to be the one to get more involved on the cosmic side of things.

3) AMAZING SPIDER-MAN LEADING NORMAN OSBORN TO BREAK BAD (AGAIN)

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: Amazing Spider-Man #18

With each new solicitation we are getting from this new Amazing Spider-Man direction it is opening the door for Norman Osborn’s true future. That true future seems to be him returning to his Green Goblin ways. There have been a lot of teasers about Norman giving into his villainous tendencies since he started trying to turn a new leaf. Even the lead up to taking on the Spider-Man identity there were some Green Goblin teasers.

Now Amazing Spider-Man #18 is giving us our strongest indication that Norman returning to being the Green Goblin is happening. It seems that Norman trying to do good will have the opposite effect as it is not easy for him to actually fill Peter’s Spider-Man shoes. Norman has already learned that it takes more than just wearing the Spider-Man costume to fill the hero role. The weight of that could lead him to have yet another breaking bad moment.

If all roads lead back to Norman Osborn returning to his Green Goblin identity that could happen with Amazing Spider-Man #1000. Marvel has been adding the Legacy issue number as part of Amazing Spider-Man’s solicitations again. This plays into the series reaching its 1000th Legacy issue around August 2026 if it keeps up its bi-monthly release schedule. How do you make Amazing Spider-Man #1000 a bigger deal? Well, the return of Norman Osborn as Green Goblin to renew his rivalry with Spider-Man.

2) CROWNING THE NEW SORCERER SUPREME

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: Sorcerer Supreme

December will see the crowning of the new Sorcerer Supreme after Doctor Doom loses the title due to his One World Under Doom actions. Based on how Marvel’s latest solicitation both Doctor Doom and Doctor Strange appear to be out of the running for the new Sorcerer Supreme. The cover creates a lot of contenders for who will be the new Sorcerer Supreme in an attempt to create a mystery.

There are two characters on the cover that would make the most sense for the new Sorcerer Supreme. They would be Scarlet Witch and Magik. Both characters have shown to be powerful magicians who would equal what Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom were capable of.

With how things have gone down in One World Under Doom the biggest favorite would be Scarlet Witch. She played a key role in uncovering what Doctor Doom was really doing with Latvaria. Marvel has also invested a lot in Scarlet Witch as a solo hero with several comic books published in the last several years. It would make sense the payoff to all her solo comics would lead to Scarlet Witch being the new Sorcerer Supreme.

1) THE MAKER’S ULTIMATE ENDGAME BEGINS

Marvel Comics December 2025 Solicitations: Ultimate Endgame #1

The event that the creation that the Ultimate Universe has been building towards is finally beginning in December. That event will see The Maker finally make his return as he is finally able to exit from the bubble that covered The City. While only two years have passed in the Ultimate Universe because of what’s kept The Maker trapped in The City he’s gone through 2,000 years. And with his escape The Maker will trigger World War III to take place in the Ultimate Universe.

With a two-year build up to Ultimate Endgame the expectations are as high as it can be for any comic book event. It will be a real test to all of the investment Marvel has made to Deniz Camp as a creator. His work in the Ultimate Universe has had its fair share of ups and downs but he’s been given the go ahead to prove himself. Ultimate Endgame will show if Camp is ready to be seen as a go to creator for Marvel in the future.

With all the story implications of Ultimate Endgame it will also provide an idea of the Ultimate Universe will continue on. It is still not clear if this version of the Ultimate Universe was a two year thing as Hickman is ending his Ultimate Spider-Man run. The Ultimate Universe comics have been too successful for Marvel to not continue after Ultimate Endgame. Which adds to Ultimate Endgame’s importance both critically and commercially.
