Transformers #24 was an end of an era. It marked the conclusion of Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona’s creative run on the series. They certainly made a big impact with shaping the Energon Universe’s Transformers. With the big shoes they’ve left only writer Robert Kirkman and artist Dan Mora could fill them. Now ahead of Kirkman and Mora’s debut Skybound and Image Comics has provided us with an early preview of Transformers #25 to share.
As you’ll see from the preview Kirkman and Mora aren’t looking to start things over. They are very much starting things off where Johnson and Corona last left off. That is unsurprising given that Megatron is not someone to forget loses so easily. That is something, along with the future of the Autobots, teased in the solicitation for Transformers #25:
The Energon Universe will never be the same as the Autobots and Decepticons kick off the most surprising new chapter in their war on Earth. Optimus Prime and the remaining Autobots must join forces with unlikely allies in order to protect their adopted planet. But Prime’s next challenge lies closer to home than he ever imagined. And what is the fate of the Decepticons?
Transformers #25 will be released with its main cover done by David Nakayama. Additional variant covers will also be available from artists Jorge Corona, Daniel Warren Johnson & Mike Spicer, Kael Ngu, Dan Mora, Jae Lee & June Chung, John Amor, and Eric Canete. There will also be special connected covers Jorge Corona & Mike Spicer that will be 1:10 variants for Transformers #25 through Transformers #30. Check those connected covers and a two-page preview for Transformers #25 below:
