Ultimate Superman DVD Set on Sale – For About 7 Hours

Hey, it’s not like there’s going to be a new Superman movie anytime soon, as all DC hero movies seem consigned to rot forever in development hell. So when I saw this in my e-mail this morning (okay, when I woke up at noon – same basic principle), I wanted to get the word out as soon as possible to as many people as possible. Through the end of the day, as in for the next several hours, Amazon.com is offering the Superman Ultimate Collector’s Edition DVD set at 54% off – that’s $45 99 down from $99 98.

I couldn’t resist ordering, if only for the impressive size of the box – there are 14 DVDs in there: the four Christopher Reeve Superman movies (yes, Superman II is the Richard Donner Cut  –  and no, Superman IV has not improved with age.  Take the good with the bad), Superman Returns, and three cool DVDs featuring documentaries on Superman; the character and his many movies, extra scenes left over from the cutting room floor, and cool behind-the-scenes “making of” material hosted by Bryan Singer. At $45 99 and free shipping, I couldn’t pass this one up and I felt a sort of duty to spread the word before the day is up and the sales is over. At the least, are getting 13 awesome DVDs and one very attractive coaster (Superman IV).
