December 2025 Comic Book Sales Rankings

December 2025 Comic Book Sales Rankings

It is time to check out the December 2025 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we must settle for going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we must work with what we get.

Keep in mind that the Top 200 sales rankings are based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at over 125 local comic book shops selling American comics. These sales rankings represent sales to consumers by local comic shops.

We all know that these ICv2 sales charts based on the ComicHub system are not the best. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics, this is the best that we have to go by. You do see that these sales charts give a rough sketch of the market because titles that will be canceled correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.

The data for the December 2025 comic book sales rankings was collected based on a four-week month, from November 30, 2025, to January 3, 2026.

You can go over to ICv2 and check out the Top 50 for December 2025 for free, or opt for a pro membership (It is well worth the money) and get the Top 200 for December 2025, and then come back here for a detailed analysis of the December 2025 comic book sales rankings!

December 2025 Top 200 Comic Book Sales Rankings

The Battle for the Top 10

DC Comics placed six comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were down from the nine comics that DC Comics had in the Top 10 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had three comics in the Top 10 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 10 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 10 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in December 2021.

Of course, all five issues from DC Comics came from the Absolute Universe, Batman, and DC. K.O. DC Comics is still dominating the Top 10, but December 2025 was a big come-down-to-Earth moment from the insane Top 10 showing in November 2025.

Marvel Comics placed two comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Marvel Comics had in the Top 10 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down as Marvel Comics had five comics in the Top 10 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had five comics in the Top 10 in December 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had five comics in the Top 10 in December 2022.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had eight comics in the Top 10 in December 2021.

The two issues from Marvel Comics came from the Ultimate Universe. Marvel Comics really took it in the nuts in the Battle for the Top 10. This is the worst back-to-back Top 10 performances that we have seen from Marvel Comics in the four years we have been covering the sales rankings.

It is stunning how Marvel Comics has fallen off the cliff in the Top 10 compared to four years ago. Marvel Comics had a commanding lead over all the other publishers and have frittered it away over the years due to bad decisions from their editorial staff. There is no doubt that Marvel Comics rested on its laurels and now finds itself in trouble in the Top 10.

IDW Publishing placed one comic in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 10 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2021.

Naturally, the sole IDW Publishing issue in the Top 10 was from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13 shot up from the number 45 spot to the number 10 spot. This is the highest that we have seen this title in a long time. The softening of the market has allowed titles like this one to shoot back up in the rankings.

Keenspot Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Keenspot Entertainment had in the Top 10 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 10 in December 2021.

Mark Spears Monsters #8 rocketed up from the number 99 spot to the number 6 spot. This has been a nice selling title for Keenspot, but this is a title who has sold between the number 80 and number 123 spot in its prior issues with the exception of one issue that scored the number 45 spot. We continue to see the softening in the comic book market allow titles from smaller publishers rank higher than ever.

The Battle for the Top 25

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 11-25 range typically sell in the 65,000 to 50,000 unit range.

DC Comics placed fifteen comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the twelve comics that DC Comics had in the Top 25 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as DC Comics had ten comics in the Top 25 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had eight comics in the Top 25 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had seven comics in the Top 25 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had seven comics in the Top 25 in December 2021.

As expected, all fifteen issues from DC Comics came from just three franchises. Eight of the fifteen issues were from the Absolute Universe. Six of the fifteen issues were from DC K.O. big event. And one Bruce Wayne issue filled out the fifteen issues in the Top 25.

Marvel Comics placed seven comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the eleven comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as Marvel Comics had thirteen comics in the Top 25 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had fifteen comics in the Top 25 in December 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had sixteen comics in the Top 25 in December 2022.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had seventeen comics in the Top 25 in December 2021.

This was brutal! Marvel Comics took a beating in the Battle for the Top 25 of the likes we have never seen in the four years covering the sales rankings. The amount of market share that Marvel Comics has lost in the Top 25 is stunning. Marvel Comics’ editorial have to ask themselves some hard questions concerning many of their decisions that have led them to this point.

Like DC Comics, Marvel Comics’ Top 25 success came from just three franchises. Four of Marvel Comics’ seven issues came from the Ultimate Universe. Two of Marvel Comics’ seven issues came from the Fantastic Four franchise. One of Marvel Comics’ seven issues came from the Spider-Man franchise.

We are used to seeing DC Comics overly rely on just a couple of franchises to power their Top 25 success. However, this is the first time we have seen Marvel Comics lack diversity in the franchises that power their Top 25 success.

Image Comics placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the two comics that Image Comics had in the Top 25 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as Image Comics had two comics in the Top 25 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Image Comics had two comics in the Top 25 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2021.

To no surprise, the sole Image Comic issue in the Top 25 was from the Hasbro franchise.

Keenspot Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Keenspot Entertainment had in the Top 10 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2021.

IDW Publishing placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 25 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were up, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 25 in December 2021.

The Battle for the Top 50

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 26-50 range typically sell in the 49,000 to 30,000 unit range.

Marvel Comics placed twenty-two comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the twenty-six comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 50 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as Marvel Comics had twenty-six comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had twenty-eight comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had twenty-seven comics in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had twenty-eight comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

The news does not get much better for Marvel Comics in the Battle for the Top 50. Yes, Marvel Comics managed to squeak out a win, but the amount of territory it has ceded over the past four years is alarming.

DC Comics placed twenty-one comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the seventeen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in November 2025.

Year-over-year numbers were flat, as DC Comics had twenty-one comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had seventeen comics in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had sixteen comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Marvel Comics is inevitable. DC Comics put up a furious fight but just fell short in the Battle for the Top 50.

Image Comics placed four comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down from the six comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in November 2025.

Three of Image Comics’ four issues in Top 50 were from the Hasbro franchise.

The sole non-Hasbro franchise comic was Exquisite Corpses #8 which clocked in at the number 37 spot.

Keenspot Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Keenspot Entertainment had in the Top 50 in November 2025.

Numbers were up from two years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as Keenspot Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

IDW Publishing placed one comic in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 50 in November 2025.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as BOOM! Studios had two comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Something is Killing the Children #45 checked in at the number 46 spot.

The Battle for the Top 75

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 51-75 range typically sell in the 29,000 to 25,000 unit range.

Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-three comics in the Top 75 in December 2022.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had twenty-two comics in the Top 75 in December 2021.

The Top 75 is the point where the chronic problems that plague DC Comics become obvious. Nobody thought DC Comics was particularly healthy a year ago, and the fact that it was doing better in 2025 than it is now should be concerning. The fact that DC Comics was doing the same in 2023 as it is now should also be alarming. Again, nobody thought DC Comics was killing it back in 2023.

The fact is that the Absolute Universe and DC K.O. have papered over the rot that is inside of DC Comics. The failure to create any sales successes in any of the other franchises remains a serious problem.

Image Comics placed eight comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the nine comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in November 2025.

Ordained #1 debuted at the number 86 spot. What a nice showing for Robert Venditti’s three issue-mini series. The softening of the comic market continues to let more small publisher titles to find better rankings than ever. I have always liked Venditti so it is cool to see him having success with an indie comic like this one.

133 X-Vengers #3 (Age of Revelation) (Marvel Comics)

140 Omega Kids #3 (Age of Revelation) (Marvel Comics)

Age of Revelation had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50. This was flat in the Top 10, down in the Top 25, and flat in the Top 50 compared to November 2025, when Age of Revelation had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.

The Age of Revelation remains an epic sales failure for Marvel Comics. What an embarrassment for the X-Men editors.

106 DC K.O. #1 (Of 4) (DC Comics) (Resolicitation)

DC K.O. had one comic in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50. This was up from November 2025, when DC K.O. had two comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50.

DC K.O. Knightfight #2 dipped from the number 4 spot to the number 9 spot.

Let’s check out the four one-shot issues.

DC K.O. Wonder Woman vs Lobo #1 had an excellent debut at the number 13 spot.

DC K.O. Red Hood Vs Joker #1 had a strong debut at the number 14 spot.

DC K.O. Superman Vs Captain Atom #1 had a nice debut at the number 15 spot.

DC K.O. Harley Quinn Vs Zatanna #1 had a good debut at the number 17 spot.

It is incredible that three of these DC K.O. one-shot issues slotted in the Top 15 and that all four of the one-shot issues clocked in the Top 17. Amazing. The consumer’s thirst for DC K.O. knows no limits.

The resolicitation for DC K.O. #2 took the number 22 spot. This is insane! A resoclicited issue cracking the Top 25 is something rarely seen. What a testament to the smashing sales success and consumer demand for DC K.O.

DC K.O. #1 took the number 106 spot. This is also bonkers. This is a resolicited comic from two months ago almost cracking the Top 100!

We have made fun of DC Comics for rarely getting it right over the years. Kudos to Joshua Williamson and Scott Snyder for gifting DC Comics this incredible big event to go along with their other gift of the Absolute Universe. DC Comics would be out of business without these two men.

Starship Godzilla #3 went unranked for the second straight month.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #5 went unranked for the second consecutive month. Three of the past four issues have been unranked.

IDW Publishing continues to unimpress with their handling of the Godzilla franchise as it has been unable to gain traction with the consumer.

Star Wars Franchise

The Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50. This was flat compared to November 2025, when the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were flat, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero titles in the Top 10, zero titles in the Top 25, and one title in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero titles in the Top 10, zero titles in the Top 25, and two titles in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as the Star Wars franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

The Star Wars franchise continues to be a steaming pile of refuse. It never ceases to amaze me how Disney/Lucasfilm/Marvel Comics have been able to utterly ruin what was once thought to be an unstoppable and pristine franchise.

The fact that seven out of the eight Star Wars titles are in the Dead Titles Walking category or unranked is unacceptable. The only Star Wars title not unranked or a dead title walking just barely avoided doing so by getting the number 99 spot. This is unacceptable and Marvel Comics should be thoroughly embarrassed by the state of the Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #11 ticked up from the number 100 spot to the number 99 spot.

Star Wars #8 fell from the number 84 spot to the number 130 spot. Two of the past three issues have been in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Star Wars: Jedi Knights #10 dropped from the number 121 spot to the number 131 spot. This title has been a Dead Title Walking for four consecutive months.

Star Wars: Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon #4 barely climbed back into the Top 200 by taking the number 190 spot.

Star Wars Boba Fett – Black, White & Red #4 fell from the number 171 spot to the number 193 spot. This is the third consecutive month that this title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Alyssa Wong continues to do the impossible. Boba Fett has been one of the most popular Star Wars characters of all time. Just a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable to see a Bob Fett title selling this poorly. However, Wong does what Wong does and that is drive readers away from a comic book in dramatic fashion. Why Wong continues to get hired by Marvel Comics is utterly beyond me.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #4 was unranked for a fourth straight month.

Star Wars: Tales from the Nightlands #3 went unranked for a third consecutive month. Cavan Scott continues his reputation for making comics that fail in the sales rankings.

Unranked: Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Rogue Agents #1 had a brutal debut failing to make the Top 200 and going unranked.

I am unsure why Dark Horse Comics pays money for the Star Wars license anymore. There seems to be no value left to it and everything Dark Horse Comics publishes is an utter sales failure.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as the Spider-Man franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Let’s begin with the star of the show: Peter Parker.

Amazing Spider-Man #17 took the number 18 spot and Amazing Spider-Man #18 then dropped to the number 26 spot. This was worse than November 2025, when Amazing Spider-Man #15 took the number 9 spot, which is the same ranking it had in October 2025. Amazing Spider-Man #16 then dropped to the number 17 spot.

Spider-Man & Wolverine #8 dipped from the number 45 spot to the number 49 spot. This title has sold in the Top 50 for all but one issue.

Amazing Spider-Man Torn #3 fell from the number 49 spot to the number 68 spot.

Spider-Man ’94 #4 dropped from the number 49 spot to the number 85 spot. This was a disappointing ending for this four-issue mini-series. The first three issues all managed to finish in the Top 50.

Let’s hop over to the knock-off Spider-Men.

Spider-Man Noir #3 dropped from the number 33 spot to the number 45 spot.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #41 fell from the number 79 spot to the number 90 spot. This is roughly where Miles Morales: Spider-Man #39 was in October 2025 when it took the number 94 spot.

Let’s check out the Venomverse title.

Venom #252 climbed from the number 57 spot to the number 35 spot. This is roughly where Venom #250 was in October 2025 when it took the number 37 spot.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Spider-Man franchise.

Black Cat #5 climbed from the number 63 spot to the number 47 spot. This is the exact same spot in the rankings that Black Cat #3 took in October 2025.

All-New Spider-Gwen The Ghost-Spider #5 ticked up from the number 87 spot to the number 83 spot.

Spider-Girl #7 went unranked for the second consecutive month. This title has been unranked for three of its past four issues. Torunn Grønbekk continues to have no sales success with Marvel Comics.

140 Omega Kids #3 (Age of Revelation)

177 X-Men of Apocalypse #1 (Resolicitation)

195 Undeadpool #2 (Age of Revelation) (Resolicitation)

The X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was worse than November 2025, when the X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down in stunning fashion, as the X-Men franchise had two comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and thirteen comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were down from three years ago, as the X-Men franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as the X-Men franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Wow. The X-Men franchise is just a shell of what it used to be! The numbers are down by a massive margin compared to a year ago! Numbers are also down compared to two, three, and four years ago. There is no good news here for Marvel Comics. There is no doubt that Marvel Comics has completely bungled the handling of the X-Men franchise. This downfall has been a combination of unpopular ideas and some terrible writers.

Let’s start with the team titles.

Amazing X-Men #3 fell from the number 23 spot to the number 41 spot. This three-issue mini-series from Jed MacKay has concluded. This was the best selling of all the Age of Revelation titles.

Unbreakable X-Men #3 fell from the number 38 spot to the number 51 spot. This title from Gail Simone has now concluded. I know that Marvel Comics was expecting this title to conclude in the Top 25. The fact that it could not even end in the Top 50 is even more of a disappointment.

X-Men Age of Revelation Finale #1 from Jed MacKay had an unimpressive debut at the number 70 spot. This Age of Revelation event concluded with a whimper.

X-Men Book of Revelation #3 fell from the number 51 spot to the number 72 spot. This title from Jed MacKay has now concluded. I know that Marvel Comics was expecting this title to be better than a Top 75 seller.

Sinister’s Six #3 dropped from the number 73 spot to the number 91 spot. This concludes this title from David Marquez. This title was another sales dud.

Longshots #3 fell from the number 94 spot to the number 114 spot. This title from Jonathan Hickman and Gerry Duggan has now concluded. This title was a sales failure.

Expatriate X-Men #3 climbed from the number 137 spot to the number 116 spot. This title from Eve Ewing is now concluded. This title was an epic sales disaster as it was in the Dead Titles Walking category for all three issues.

X-Vengers #3 ticked up from the number 134 spot to the number 133 spot. This title from Jason Loo has now concluded. This title was a huge sales failure.

Omega Kids #3 ticked down from the number 139 spot to the number 140 spot. This title from Tony Fleecs has now concluded. This title was a massive sales failure as all three issues of this title were in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s check out the duo titles.

Iron & Frost #3 fell from the number 59 spot to the number 93 spot. This title from Cavan Scott has now concluded. This title never managed to crack the Top 50 and ended with a thud by barely avoiding the Dead Titles Walking category. Marvel Comics expected so much more from this title.

Rogue Storm #3 plummeted from the number 52 spot to the number 81 spot. This title from Murewa Ayodele has now concluded. This was another sales dud.

Cloak or Dagger #3 climbed from the number 143 spot to the number 127 spot. This title from Justina Ireland has now concluded. This title was an utter sales failure.

Let’s hop over to the dudes of the X-Men franchise.

Radioactive Spider-Man #3 dipped from the number 71 spot to the number 76 spot. This title has now concluded. This was another sales disappointment.

The Last Wolverine #3 crashed from the number 58 spot to the number 87 spot. This title from Saladin Ahmed has now concluded. Even the Wolverine brand could not drag this title to sales success.

Undeadpool #3 ticked up from the number 118 spot to the number 110 spot. This title from Tim Seeley has now concluded. This title was a sales dud.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the X-Men franchise.

Laura Kinney Sabretooth #3 dipped from the number 64 spot to the number 67 spot. This title from Erica Schultz has concluded. This title was a mediocre seller.

Binary #3 ticked up from the number 99 spot to the number 97 spot. This title from Stephanie Phillips has concluded. This was another typical Phillips sales dud.

The Age of Revelation was an unmitigated sales failure. What an embarrassment for Marvel Comics. None of the seventeen titles made the Top 25. Only one of the seventeen titles made the Top 50. That is brutal. Even worse a full six of the seventeen titles were Dead Titles Walking.

This big event was a combination of some bad ideas mixed together with numerous unpopular writers like Justina Ireland, Eve Ewing, Tony Fleecs, Stephanie Phillips, Erica Schultz, and Jason Loo who have never had any success on mainstream superhero comics.

Marvel Comics editorial need to step back and re-evaluate who they hire and what ideas they decide to green-light. Because DC Comics, Image Comics, and other publishers are going to continue to eat into Marvel Comics’ market share at this rate.

Avengers Franchise

119 Black Panther Intergalactic #1

133 X-Vengers #3 (Age of Revelation)

192 Captain America #5 (Resolicitation)

The Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was worse than November 2025, when the Avengers franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were down, as the Avengers franchise had one comic in the Top 10, two comics in the Top 25, and four comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from four years ago, as the Avengers franchise had three comics in the Top 10, three comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Avengers #33 fell from the number 50 spot to the number 62 spot. This snapped four consecutive months of Avengers climbing in the sales rankings.

New Avengers #7 dipped from the number 95 spot to the number 101 spot. It was inevitable that this title was going to end up in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Infernal Hulk #2 ticked down from the number 26 spot to the number 30 spot. This negligible drop in the sales rankings is a positive sign for this new title.

Hulk Smash Everything #1 had an unimpressive debut at the number 59 spot. This four-issue limited series from Ryan North looks like it is going to be a sales dud.

Alien vs. Captain America #2 dropped from the number 18 spot to the number 39 spot. This four-issue mini-series is going to struggle to stay in the Top 50 at this rate.

The Mortal Thor #5 rocketed up from the number 101 spot to the number 55 spot. This is the highest ranking for this title since The Mortal Thor #1 debuted at the number 34 spot. This is the first issue since The Mortal Thor #1 to make the Top 75 since The Mortal Thor #2 took the number 73 spot. It appears that the softening comic book market allowed this title to enjoy an unusual rebound in the rankings.

Black Panther Intergalactic #1 had a hideous debut at the number 119 spot. This four-issue limited series from Victor LaVelle is already a Dead Title Walking. This title may struggle to remain in the Top 200 given this awful debut number. Of course, this is no surprise. LaVelle is a novelist. Taking people who are not super hero comic book writers never works out for Marvel Comics. The trend continues.

Planet She-Hulk #2 plummeted from the number 24 spot to the number 65 spot. Zero surprise. It is more of Stephanie Phillips doing what she always does: drive away readers.

Fantastic Four Franchise

20 Fantastic Four #6

164 Fantastic Four Facsimile Edition #12

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 10, flat in the Top 25, and up in the Top 50, as the Ultimate Universe had three comics in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Ultimate Endgame #1 had a monster debut taking the number 2 spot. This five-issue mini-series from Deniz Camp is sure to be a strong seller.

Ultimates #19 fell from the number 21 spot to the number 42 spot. Wow. That is an unexpected drop and the lowest we have seen this title in the sales rankings.

Ultimate Spider-Man #23 ticked down from the number 7 spot to the number 8 spot. This title is rock solid dependable. No matter what you throw at it. The Absolute Universe? Batman? DC K.O.? This title shrugs them all of and still nails a Top 10 ranking.

Ultimate Universe Two Years In #1 had a strong debut at the number 16 spot.

Ultimate Wolverine #12 fell from the number 19 spot to the number 24 spot. This is the lowest in the sales rankings that we have seen this title.

Unranked: Gotham Academy: First Year #3

The Batman franchise had three comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and five comics in the Top 50. This was worse than November 2025, when the Batman franchise had four comics in the Top 10, five comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were up in the Top 10 and Top 25, but down in the Top 50, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, four comics in the Top 25, and ten comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were flat in the Top 10 and down in the Top 15, and down by a massive margin in the Top 50 from two years ago, as the Batman franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and thirteen comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were flat in the Top 10, but down in the Top 25 and Top 50 from three years ago, as the Batman franchise had three comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and eleven comics in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Numbers were up in the Top 10, but down in the Top 25, and down by miles in the Top 50 from four years ago, as the Batman franchise had one comic in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and fourteen comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Let’s start things with the star of the show: Bruce Wayne.

Batman #4 ticked down from the number 2 spot to the number 3 spot. Absolute Universe? DC K.O.? Ultimate Universe? Bruce Wayne don’t care. He is still going to nail a Top 3 ranking.

DC / Marvel – Batman / Deadpool #1 took the number 5 spot. This is insane. A resolicited issue from a month ago snagging a Top 5 ranking. You simply do not see this type of thing that often.

Detective Comics #1104 climbed up from the number 69 spot to the number 57 spot. This title has now sold outside of the Top 50 for three of the past four months.

Batman Superman World’s Finest #46 climbed from the number 72 spot to the number 60 spot.

Immortal Legend Batman #5 shot up from the number 92 spot to the number 79 spot. This six-issue limited series has a good shot of concluding in the Top 100.

Batman / Static Beyond #2 plummeted from the number 25 spot to the number 84 spot. Welp. I guess not even the Batman brand name could fireman carry Static to sales success.

Batman and Robin #28 ticked down from the number 96 spot to the number 98 spot.

The Bat-Man Second Knight #2 dropped from the number 95 spot to the number 105 spot. This is no surprise that this six-issue mini-series is already a Dead Title Walking given its weak debut ranking.

Batman Gotham by Gaslight – A League for Justice #6 dipped from the number 115 spot to the number 118 spot. This is the fourth straight month that this title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s check out the sole bat-boy title.

Nightwing #133 ticked up from the number 75 spot to the number 66 spot. This title seems stuck in this general area of the sales rankings.

Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Batman franchise.

Poison Ivy #39 dropped from the number 74 spot to the number 89 spot.

Batgirl #14 fell from the number 93 spot to the number 107 spot. Thus ended Tate Brombal’s one month tour outside of the Dead Titles Walking category. This title has now been in the Dead Titles Walking category for three of the past four issues.

Birds of Prey #28 ticked up from the number 135 spot to the number 134 spot. Kelly Thompson’s title has now been in the Dead Titles Walking category for ten consecutive issues.

Harley and Ivy Life and Crimes #2 crashed and burned falling from the number 54 spot to the number 137 spot. This does not surprise me. Hiring an illustrator like Erica Henderson to be the writer on a mainstream superhero comic made little sense to me.

Harley Quinn #57 climbed from the number 199 spot to the number 147 spot. Hiring comedian Elliott Kalan to write this title continues to be a disaster.

Catwoman #82 climbed from the number 154 spot to the number 139 spot. Torunn Grønbekk’s run on this title continues to be an unmitigated sales failure.

Gotham Academy: First Year #3 went unranked for the third consecutive month.

The Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was up compared to November 2025, when the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as the Superman franchise had zero comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Let’s kick things off with Clark Kent.

Superman #33 climbed from the number 40 spot to the number 29 spot. DC K.O. has been beneficial for this title.

Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #5 dropped from the number 61 spot to the number 82 spot. This is the first time this title has sold outside of the Top 75.

Action Comics #1093 dropped from the number 88 spot to the number 94 spot. This title continues to hang around the bottom of the Top 100. This is far too low for a title with this pedigree.

Superman Unlimited #8 climbed from the number 112 spot to the number 103 spot. This is the second consecutive month that this title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Adventures of Superman Book of El #4 fell from the number 132 spot to the number 142 spot. This twelve-issue limited series has been unranked or in the Dead Titles Walking category for three consecutive issues.

Supergirl #8 dropped from the number 78 spot to the number 96 spot. It looks like this title will be in the Dead Titles Walking category next month.

Numbers were up from four years ago, as the Justice League franchise had zero comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in December 2021.

Justice League Unlimited #14 climbed from the number 41 spot to the number 33 spot. This title cannot find its way back to the Top 25.

JSA #14 dipped from the number 102 spot to the number 109 spot. This title remains a sales dud.

Justice League Red #5 fell from the number 133 spot to the number 163 spot. This is the third consecutive month that Saladin Ahmed’s title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s hop over to the dudes of the Justice League.

Aquaman #12 rocketed up from the number 91 spot to the number 32 spot. Holy crap! Behold the sales power of DC K.O.! Aquaman has been mired in the Dead Titles Walking category since the start. It will be interesting to see if DC K.O. can entice some of these new readers to stay with Aquaman after the big-event tie-in issues have concluded.

The Flash #28 blasted up from the number 109 spot to the number 48 spot. Again, the sales power of DC K.O. takes a title that has struggled to even get ranked in the Top 200 and launches it into the Top 50. This big event seems unstoppable. Again, the hope for DC Comics is that some of these new readers stick around on The Flash after the conclusion of the DC K.O. event.

Green Arrow #31 climbed back into the Top 200 by taking the number 185 spot. This title continues to be a sales disaster.

Let’s check out the Green Lantern franchise.

Green Lantern #30 climbed from the number 157 spot to the number 128 spot. DC Comics cannot figure out how to get this once prominent franchise back to its former glory.

Green Lantern Corps #11 fell from the number 126 spot to the number 141 spot. Morgan Hampton’s title has now been in the Dead Titles Walking category for six of the past seven issues.

Let’s conclude with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.

Wonder Woman #28 ticked up from the number 85 spot to the number 77 spot. Tom King cannot get this title back into the Top 75.

Trinity Daughter of Wonder Woman #6 climbed from the number 190 spot to the number 166 spot. With this issue, Tom King’s six-issue mini-series has concluded. Trinity Daughter of Wonder Woman debuted at the number 78 spot and then spent the remaining five issues in the Dead Titles Walking category. This title was a complete sales failure. There is zero consumer interest in King’s pet character.

Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #5 dipped from the number 163 spot to the number 169 spot. This title has generated zero consumer interest.

The Absolute Universe

1 Absolute Batman #15

4 Absolute Wonder Woman #15

7 Absolute Batman #14 (Resolicitation)

186 Absolute Batman #9 (Resolicitation)

191 Absolute Batman #12 (Resolicitation)

198 Absolute Batman #8 (Resolicitation)

The Absolute Universe had three comics in the Top 10, seven comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50. This was worse in the Top 10, but better in the Top 25 and Top 50 than November 2025, when the Absolute Universe had four comics in the Top 10, six comics in the Top 25, and seven comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were flat in the Top 10, down in the Top 25, and flat in the Top 50, as the Absolute Universe franchise had three comics in the Top 10, eight comics in the Top 25, and eight comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Absolute Batman #15 ticked up from the number 3 spot to the number 1 spot. This title remains an unrivaled sales monster.

Absolute Wonder Woman #15 ticked up from the number 10 spot to the number 4 spot.

Absolute Superman #14 dipped from the number 7 spot to the number 11 spot.

Absolute Martian Manhunter #7 shot up from the number 56 spot to the number 12 spot.

Absolute Flash #10 fell from the number 16 spot to the number 23 spot. This is the lowest in the rankings that we have seen this title.

Absolute Green Lantern #9 fell from the number 14 spot to the number 25 spot. This is the lowest in the rankings that we have seen this title.

Absolute Batman remains the undisputed sales champion of the Absolute Universe. And it is not even close. Both Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Flash placed one resolicited issue apiece in the Top 200. That’s cute.

Absolute Batman placed a stunning six resolicited issues in the Top 200. Even more insane is that the resolicitation for Absolute Batman #14 took the number 7 spot!!! A resolicited issue in the Top 10? That is so rare!

Supernatural Comics

27 Doctor Strange #1 (Marvel Comics)

38 Sorcerer Supreme #1 (Marvel Comics)

50 Wiccan Witches’ Road #1 (Marvel Comics)

71 Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #15 (Marvel Comics)

112 Marvel Zombies Red Band #4 (Marvel Comics)

125 Spirits of Violence #3 (Marvel Comics)

157 Marvel Zombies Red Band #3 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Strange Tales #3 (Marvel Comics)

Doctor Strange #1 had an solid but unspectacular debut at the number 27 spot. This new title from Derek Landy is going to have a tough time staying in the Top 50 for very long.

38 Sorcerer Supreme #1 had an average debut at the number 38 spot. Steve Orlando is the writer. Given the average debut number and the fact that Orlando has never had any sales success, I would expect this title to quickly drop in the rankings.

Also, is there some law over at Marvel Comics that only Steve Orlando can write a Scarlet Witch comic? Orlando has had several Scarlet Witch comics over the years and all of them have been sales failures. I think it is okay to let a different writer take a crack at writing a Scarlet Witch title.

Wiccan Witches’ Road #1 had a weak debut at the number 50 spot. For some reason Marvel Comics hired an indie animator in Wyatt Kennedy to be the writer for this title. I have no clue where Marvel Comics finds these random people to write their titles. And I still cannot figure out what qualifications a person has to have to be a writer on one of Marvel Comics’ mainstream superhero comics.

The combination of Kennedy and a poor debut number leads me to believe that this five-issue mini-series will be a Dead Title Walking in short order.

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #15 dropped from the number 56 spot to the number 71 spot. This title continues to bounce back and forth in the Top 75.

Marvel Zombies Red Band #4 fell rom the number 82 spot to the number 112 spot.

Spirits of Violence #3 plummeted from the number 77 spot to the number 125 spot. We all knew this five-issue mini-series was going to end up a dead title walking. Sabir Prizada is the writer and he has had nothing but sales failure when trying to write superhero comics. Marvel Comics cannot resist hiring television writers and producers like Prizada even though they never had any sales success. It is a shame, because Spirits of Violence had some potential. It just needed a real comic book writer to deliver the goods.

Strange Tales #3 was unranked for a second consecutive month.

Cosmic Comics

39 Alien vs. Captain America #2 (Marvel Comics)

92 Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #5 (Marvel Comics)

108 Nova Centurion #2 (Marvel Comics)

181 Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #4 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #5 plummeted from the number 37 spot to the number 92 spot. Damn! I did not expect such a sudden drop in the rankings for this title.

Nova Centurion #2 fell from the number 76 spot to the number 108 spot. Welp. Well all knew this was going to happen given the poor debut number. Just chalk this up to another title that I enjoy dying in the sales rankings.

Street Level Comics

43 Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger #2 (Marvel Comics)

53 Punisher Red Band #4 (Marvel Comics)

58 Marvel Knights Punisher #3 (Marvel Comics)

88 Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger #1 (Marvel Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: The Undead Iron Fist #4 (Marvel Comics)

Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger #2 dipped from the number 30 spot to the number 43 spot. That is not that bad of a sales drop for this five-issue limited series. Especially given the fact that I have enjoyed this title and that is usually a curse.

Punisher Red Band #4 dropped from the number 27 spot to the number 53 spot. This title just misses out on remaining in the Top 50. Looks like Rokk’s Kiss of Death strikes again.

Marvel Knights Punisher #3 shot back up in the rankings from the number 104 spot to the number 58 spot. Well, it looks like a softening comic book market helped a title that I like enjoy a sales rebound. I’ll take it.

The Undead Iron Fist #4 was unranked for the second consecutive month. Nobody was asking for this title.

Legacy Character Comics

31 Titans #30 (DC K.O.) (DC Comics)

48 The Flash #28 (DC K.O.) (DC Comics)

66 Nightwing #133 (DC Comics)

96 Supergirl #8 (DC Comics)

107 Batgirl #14 (DC Comics)

166 Trinity Daughter of Wonder Woman #6 (Of 6) (DC Comics)

200 The Flash #27 (DC K.O.) (DC Comics) (Resolicitation)

Unranked: Gotham Academy: First Year #3 (DC Comics)

Unranked: Teen Titans Go! #10 (DC Comics)

There were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50. This was better than November 2025, when there were zero comics in the Top 50.

Year-over-year numbers were flat, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, zero comics in the Top 25, and two comics in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as there was one legacy character comic in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

Numbers were down in the Top 25, but up in the Top 50 from three years ago, as there were zero legacy character comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in December 2022.

Titans #30 climbed from the number 66 spot to the number 31 spot. Holy crap. The selling power of DC K.O. continues to amaze me. We have not seen Titans this high in the sales rankings in roughly a zillion years. Again, DC Comics has to hope that some of the new readers jumping on this title decide to stick around after the conclusion of the DC K.O. event.

Mantle Swap Comics

35 Venom #252 (Marvel Comics)

67 Laura Kinney Sabretooth #3 (Age of Revelation) (Marvel Comics)

Year-over-year numbers were down in the Top 25 and flat in the Top 50, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and one comic in the Top 50 in December 2024.

Numbers were down from two years ago, as there were zero mantle swap comics in the Top 10, one comic in the Top 25, and three comics in the Top 50 in December 2023.

DC Comics defeated Marvel Comics in the Battle of the Top 25 in a decisive shutout by a 4-0 score.

DC Comics beat Marvel Comics in the Battle of the Top 50 by an 5-2 score. DC Comics has successfully outmaneuvered Marvel Comics in this category. Having said that, it is a bit of fool’s gold with how well DC Comics did in this category in this month. The fact is that two of DC Comics’ five issues are DC K.O. one-shot issues. Therefore, this battle should be more competitive next month.

Ten out of twenty-three new female lead titles this month were dead titles walking. This comprised 43% of the new female lead titles.

This was up from the nine out of the twenty-two new female lead titles that were dead titles walking in November 2025. That comprised 41% of the new female lead titles were dead titles walking.

Dead Titles Walking

Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, titles outside of the Top 100 are usually selling under the 18,000 unit sales mark. These are the Marvel Comics and DC Comics titles that are dead titles walking.
