Transformers: Bumblebee - Lost Planet #1 Announced At "Skybound Vision" NYCC Panel

During Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics “Skybound Visions” panel at New York Comic Con one of the comic books announced was Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet. The mini-series creative team will be writer Tate Brombal, artist Matt Emmons, colorist Giovanna Niro, and letterer Becca Carey. Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet is scheduled to arrive in comic shops on January 27, 2027.

Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet is part of a new publishing line that will be known as Skybound Vision. This new comic book line is being done as part of the greater partnership between Skybound Entertainment, Image Comics, Hasbro, and Universal. The goal of Skybound Vision is to tell new complete, evergreen stories spotlighting a variety of iconic characters. In doing so the Skybound Vision comic books will be both new reader friendly and long-time fans.

Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet #1 is scheduled to be the first of the new Skybound Visions comic books. As the title suggest, it will feature Bumblebee stranded on an unknown planet that has many dangers awaiting for what the solicitation terms “weakest of all the Autobots”. Here’s what the full solicitation states:

After a devastating Decepticon attack, Bumblebee is stranded on an uncharted planet. Lost in the galaxy, with no way to call for help, the so-called “weakest of all the Autobots” must tackle the biggest mission of his young life. But beneath its surface, this strange planet holds a secret that’s already begun to corrupt and change its indigenous life. Now, the Autobots’ greatest hope must come from the evolution of its most unexpected warrior… if Bee can survive being hunted by the deadliest Decepticon of all!

Writer Tate Brombal spoke further on what to expect from the new series starring Bumblebee and the opportunity Skybound Visions is providing for him and the rest of the creative team:

“What an honor to be a part of this first wave of Skybound Visions! With its bold mandate in mind, we wanted to make a Transformers comic unlike any other…so get ready as Bumblebee takes center stage on an alien planet hellbent on killing him. This is Scavenger’s Reign meets Horizon Zero Dawn vividly illustrated by your new favorite artist (if he isn’t already) Matt Emmons and the inimitable Giovanna Niro.”

Artist Matt Emmons went on to add his own excitement for the chance that this new Transformers series is providing:

“I’m so thrilled unveiling Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet, and especially our new Bumblebee design for this new journey! We went all out filling this strange, beautiful, and dangerous world with all sorts of bizarre plants, animals and a few… other beings to make a Transformers comic the likes of which has never been seen before. Working with Tate, Ben, Giovanna, and Becca has been a dream come true. Everyone brought their best to this book. I’m so excited to share what we’ve made and couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the first wave of Skybound Visions.”
