DC Comics June 2026 comic book solicitations are here! The month will see DC Comics continue their DC Next Level direction as characters get used to their new status quos. There are many changes that continue to happen across the DC Universe. The feeling of change even extends to the Absolute Universe as the heroes there are continue to be brutally challenged. Find out what to look forward to with our ten biggest takeaways from DC Comics June 2026 comic book solicitations.
10) WALLY WEST POWERS CONTINUE TO GROW
Wally West is seemingly getting a big upgrade in his power set in 2026. What these new superpowers are still to be shown. It does look likes at least he won’t be able to easily master them as he will have to test it out.
Good thing is Wally has allies with knowledge about how to deal with new powers. The ally he is turning to is Mister Terrific. This is a logical choice it is this type of use of team-ups that works. It adds a natural way of working to a guest character’s strength that can build long-term bond between Flash and Mister Terrific. That’s something we aren’t seeing even in Justice League Unlimited between the two.
9) AQUAMAN & GREEN LANTERN NOT SO GREAT TEAM-UP
With Emperor Aquaman expanding Atlantis’ reach beyond Earth it was only a matter of time before he started shaking the cosmic cages. Based on Emperor Aquaman #18’s solicitation shows that Aquaman is going to be learning a tough lesson. That tough lesson is that when you rattle the cages too much, you’ll find yourself in trouble. Which for the new Emperor Aquaman is ending up in a cosmic prison.
The good thing for Emperor Aquaman is that Green Lantern Hal Jordan is in the same prison. With that set up it looks like we will be getting a Prison Break-style story involving the two Justice Leaguers. How that goes for both in their current status quo will be interesting to see.
8) DEADMAN CONTINUES DC NEXT LEVEL MOMENTUM MOVING FORWARD
The second phase of DC Next Level comics continues with Deadman getting his own series. The series will be written by W. Maxwell Prince and art by Martin Morazzo. The Deadman is the first DC Next Level series that I have no familiarity with the creative team. Like other DC Next Level titles I am interested in what chances they’ll take with The Deadman but its certainly low on the excitement level of titles announced for the direction so far.
That said, there are things going on in the other DC Next Level books that look to challenge the characters in big ways. One that Barbara Gordon: Breakout #2 appears to hint at changes for the character. That is not only with a haircut, but also with how her Batgirl and Oracle activities impact her Supermax prison situation.
Then there is Deathstroke: The Terminator #4 that reveals that Ravager will be reuniting with her father. But given how Deathstroke treated his daughter during Dark Crisis this reunion won’t be a happy one. Ravager making Deathstroke answer for his crimes against her and others could satisfying to see.
7) WONDER WOMAN’S “WONDER WAR” ACT ONE CONCLUDES
Tom King’s “Wonder War” Saga will see its first act come to a close with Wonder Woman #34. With it closing out the first act it means something big is likely to happen. A lot of it hangs on if Trinity can save her parents. That continues the tease of the rumored death of Wonder Woman. This has been teased by King as something he is aiming to do. He made it obvious with the flashforward after the conclusion of the clash with Sovereign.
Will King actual go through with killing Wonder Woman? He definitely would do that based on past history. He seems deadest on making Trinity a character fans get behind. His heavy push with Trinity is something he needs to be careful about. Because we saw what happened when DC Comics let Brian Bendis do that when aging up Jon Kent to take over as Superman.
That all could make Wonder Woman #34 one of the more talked about comics of the year if it truly is a big one. We will have to wait and see.
6) ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN COMPETES IN BRUTAL FATAL FOUR-WAY MATCH
Absolute Superman won’t just have Absolute Shazam and Absolute Hawkman to worry about in the future. Absolute Superman #20 reveals that there will be another person joining the fight to turn the three-way battle into a fatal four-way match. Given the way that things are phrased it looks like only one of the four combatants will be able to come out the winner.
As to who this mysterious participant is there are a lot of contenders. The first one that comes to mind is that it will be whatever Absolute Brainiac turns Absolute Alex Luthor into. We’ve seen Absolute Alex Luthor go through horrifying events that have completely changed him. What is not known is what this change will be and what he will represent in the Absolute Universe moving forward.
There is also someone completely new that could join the fight. Superman has a very deep rogues gallery. So the mysterious fighter could be another character making their debut in Absolute Superman #20. Which would help out sales for the series.
5) BATMAN FAMILY STRIKE BACK AGAINST POWERS CONTROLLING GOTHAM CITY
The Batman Family are not having a great 2026. The way the previous year ended was carried over into 2026, as we see across all of the Batman Family comics. We already know the one arguably most impacted is Barbara Gordon, who has been sent to prison. Then there is Nightwing who is so busy trying to help Bludhaven recover he likely isn’t up on what is going on in Gotham City.
Batman #10 teases us with things just getting worse as Vandal Savage, Minotaur, and others involved in “Operation Peregine” have completely won. That complete victory is not something Batman will put up with. Batman #10 mentions that the Batman Family striking back. But how far they can truly fight back is a big question. Afterall their resources aren’t unlimited. They will have to be much more creative than previous events they’ve been through.
There is also the fact that Poison Ivy will continue her reign as Mayor of Gotham City. Things look to already be going south for Mayor Pamela Ivy. That’s at least hinted at in Poison Ivy #45 pushing the possibility of already losing supporters. How she reacts to this and other things going in Gotham City could say a lot about the Batman Family’s futures.
4) NEW TITANS ROSTER GETS ANOTHER CHANGE
The New Titans appear to wrap up their first story arc with a big change happening. That change is teased in the issue that follows the first arc’s ending, New Titans #36. Both the solicitation and main cover hints at Donna Troy, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven leaving the team. Furthermore, it looks like Terra will be shifted to a mentor rather than mentee role as initially teased.
Now this is not surprising as Tate Brombal has already shown that his he will be leaning on Nightwing and Cyborg from the iconic Titans team. It would truly be a shame that because of the roster size that Brombal decides to force the others to leave. Especially considering this current Titans era has been carried by Donna Troy, who until Brombal’s arrival was the Titans leader.
For the new class side, for all the concerns, it does give them the opportunity to have more screentime. Also having just two mentors in Nightwing and Cyborg will mean they will be able to have more focused advice. That can be valuable as having multiple mentors can causes clashes with what advice they should follow.
3) SUMMER OF SUPERGIRL BEGINS
DC Comics is going to be going all in on Supergirl like they have never before this summer. That is thanks to the DC Universe live-action Supergirl movie scheduled to be released at the end of June. That makes it a perfect time to start loading up June with plenty of Supergirl comic books and appearances.
That is seen in DC Comics June 2026 comic book solicitations that include several comics beyond the Supergirl ongoing. This includes Supergirl: Survive, Summer of Supergirl Special, Lobo #4, and The Fury of Firestorm #3 along with Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes #23 and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1 being republished.
This is certainly the biggest investment DC Comics has made in Supergirl in quite some time. If everything works out for the movie and they properly promot these comic books Supergirl could finally find the sales success that has allude her comics. That is something DC Comics certainly needs as the Superman franchise have had a tough time finding any sales success beyond Action Comics and Superman ongoings. Supergirl breaking out to be a stable part of the franchise will massively help the franchise.
2) DC COMICS LAUNCHES JUSTICE LEAGUE PRIDE MONTH EVENT
DC Comics is going to be celebrating Pride Month with the Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event series. This will be a four issue mini-series that will be a weekly comic in June. It will be lead by Dreamer and Galaxy, who will be dealing with the fallout of from the Justice League Intergalactic Special coming out at the end of April.
This is different from what DC Comics, and Marvel, have done for the monthly celebratory months. They usually give us some sort of one-shot to show that they recognize the characters.
Actually having a whole event that will be taking place throughout the month is a nice change. There is still the question if they’ll do more with these characters beyond Pride Month. But at least this is a start.
1) ABSOLUTE BATMAN ROGUES GALLERY GROWS
Absolute Batman personal life has spiraled to such a degree that almost every member of his inner circle suffered brutal and tragic transformation. Absolute Batman has already felt the ramifications of what he caused his friends to go through. His only ally now seems to be Absolute Catwoman and Alfred Pennyworth.
That is not the worst things will get for Bruce. That is seen in Absolute Batman #21 where it is shown that both Absolute Two-Face and Absolute Penguin are going to show what their full transformations are. Based on the two alternate covers we are going to see even more dangerous versions of the characters than ever seen.
If that was not enough we are also getting the debut of Absolute Scarecrow in Absolute Batman #21. That’s at least three villains that Absolute Batman will have to contend with. This is going to truly challenge how Bruce can continue to overcome everything the Absolute Universe throws his way.
