What else is coming up for the Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and more from the Marvel Universe? Find out with our ten big takeaways from Marvel Comics June 2026 comic book solicitations.

10) FANTASTIC FOUR ROME COSMIC ADVENTURE

The Fantastic Four have always been prepared to defend Earth from every threat that comes to their planet. But what happens when those threats don’t just invade the present but go to the ancient past? That is what Fantastic Four #12 is going to be exploring as the latest alien threat to Earth goes back in time to Ancient Rome.

And what better pair to defend Ancient Rome than Reed Richards and Johnny Storm. Reed and Johnny should make for a fun pair to have in this story as they are usually paired with one of the other Fantastic Four members. With the tease that Reed is going to use his powers in new ways this story could introduce some new things from the two.

9) FATE OF IRON FIST

The Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun has been the latest Iron Fist title has tested the current wielder, Lin Lie. Now it looks like Lin Lie will not survive his latest adventure as the Iron Fist. That is at least what is being heavily teased in The Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun #5.

The solicitation teases us with the finale setting the stage for what the new status quo will be for Iron Fist. Given that Marvel continues to tease Danny Rand returning to the title he made iconic him being Iron Fist again wouldn’t be surprising. Though it is more likely Lin Lie will still keep the title. Whatever the case, the finale hopefully gives Iron Fist something to build on rather than just having random mini-series here and there.

8) WHAT IF…? RETURNS

What If…? returns this summer with a host of new alternate stories. The series return will kick off with a story about what would have happened if Thor was the first person to wear the Venom symbiote. Given all the cosmic elements that have been given to the Symbiotes history this pairing makes sense. There are plenty of places Torunn Gronbekk and Segio Davila can take this story during and after the Secret Wars period of the Marvel Universe.

Then there is the What If…? story if Cyclops stayed with Madelyne Pryor and they raised Nathan Summers together. An important note is that it looks like the story will take place after Madelyne Pryor became the Goblin Queen. This could provide opportunity to explore some magic realm stuff along with the usual alternate universe mutant drama.

7) X-MEN ’97 SEASON 2 EARLY LOOK

The second season of X-Men ’97 is still months out as we only know it is sometime in 2026. But now Marvel possibly hinted at a July or August date for the second season as they are releasing prelude comic in June.

Based on the final episode of the first season, this X-Men ’97 comic book will take place in during the six month blank period shown at in the season finale. Based on the season finale it could help explain what Bishop, Forge, Jubilee, and Sunspot where up to. Specifically, details on Bishop’s mission in the future before he returned to the present day to meet up with Forge.

6) JAY & SILENT BOB INVADE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE

The last few years Marvel has become even more open to crossovers with other brands after being closed off for a while. We’ve seen that with Marvel crossing over with not just DC Comics but also Fox, Toho, and other brand properties. Now they will continue that with a one-shot that’ll feature a Jay and Silent Bob crossover.

Kevin Smith has plenty of comic book experience with a legendary Green Arrow run to his name. So writing Jay and Silent Bob: Jays of Future Past should be right up his wheelhouse. He should have plenty of fun with this X-Men: Days of Future Past story with his Jay and Silent Bob characters. So this should be must-buy for Jay and Silen Bob fans.

5) X-MEN RETURN TO THE OUTBACK

We are going back in time in June as the Steve Orlando and Stephen Segovia are revisiting the time the X-Men were based in Australia. That story will come in the form of the X-Men: Outback. The team of Storm, Wolverine, Rogue, Colossus, Dazzler, Havok, Psylocke and Longshot is certainly a unique one. It is a roster that Orlando and Segovia should have plenty of fun writing and drawing.

This series continues the trend of Marvel revisiting classic periods and stories from the X-Men to fill out the publishing line. And as we see with the X-Men publishing line in 2026, the trend of mostly having mini-series is continuing. Marvel does not appear to be in any hurry for committing to new ongoings for the X-Men.

We see this is Bishop is also getting his own mini-series. Based on the timing of all these comics there appears to be hints of Marvel building towards another X-Men crossover by the winter period. That would be enough time to wrap up all these mini-series and build the story of the crossover through X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Men United.

4) JONATHAN HICKMAN NEXT BIG SPIDER-MAN EPIC

Looks like Jonathan Hickman’s time on Ultimate Spider-Man got him hooked on writing more stories with Peter Parker. We see this as Hickman will be working with Adam Kubert on Spider-Man: Long Way Home. This new mini-series will see Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk to protect the Cosmic Cube from A.I.M’s reach.

Based on the solicitation for Spider-Man: Long Way Home, this min-series will be in its own continuity. This would be similar to Wolverine: Revenge that Hickman and Greg Capullo did last year. Being in its own continuity works best to Hickman’s strength as a world builder and keeps it away from all other Marvel events involved.

The team-up between Spider-Man, Hulk, and Punisher is certainly a unique one. While Spider-Man has fought and teamed up with both we don’t normally see Hulk and Punisher interact. How that goes with Spider-Man in the middle along with A.I.M’s Cosmic Cube mission will be interesting to see.

3) QUEEN IN BLACK CONNECTING SPIDER-MAN & THOR TOGETHER

2026 is a year for the Spider-Man franchise that is being dominated by the latest Symbiote Saga. We see this with the current Death Spiral crossover between Amazing Spider-Man and Venom. Marvel has also invested in building up Knull, the God of the Void, up for something big later in the year.

Now in June we will see that build continue with the Queen In Black mini-series by current Venom and Thor writer Al Ewing. Making this series even more intriguing is the fact it is starring Hela as the aforementioned Queen In Black. With that it hints at Ewing connecting his two current series, Venom and Mortal Thor, together in some way. This would not be out of the blue since there has been the Black Winter prophetic vision Thor got that has yet to come to pass. Given that seemed to involve the symbiotes this connection Hela has with the symbiotes can act as a gateway to start this event.

That would also make sense for the next stage of the Symbiote Saga to go. Both Ewing and Joe Kelly have shown they want to have cosmic elements in the current Spider-Man direction. This can set up a cosmic Symbiote event for the fall or winter of 2026 involving the Spider-Man, Venom, and Thor titles.

2) AVENGERS BEGIN ARMAGEDDON EARLY

Marvel will be going through most of Spring 2026 without an ongoing main Avengers series. Now with Marvel Comics June 2026 solicitations we know that will likely continue to be the case. That is thanks to the latest solicitations including the Avengers: Armageddon tie-in mini-series.

Avengers: Armageddon taking the place of an ongoing series for the franchise is given away by the fact that Armageddon writer Chip Zdarsky is writing it. That automatically makes it the most important Avengers team title that Marvel is publishing and will take attention from a main ongoing.

Avengers: Armageddon joins the Captain America ongoing and Reborn: Ultimate Impact to continue the build to the Armageddon event. Keeping the build to only a few titles keeps things focused for readers interested to know what comic books they need to read. And ahead of the big event we see that Captain America #12 will feature a major revelation of what Doctor Doom has been up to since the end of One World Under Doom. That revelation could provide the biggest hint at the direction we can expect from Armageddon yet.

1) AMAZING SPIDER-MAN TEASING SOMETHING WITH AUNT MAY

It has hit that point where Marvel is teasing the death of Aunt May again. That is at least what is heavily hinted at in the solicitation for Amazing Spider-Man #31. The visual of Uncle Ben and Aunt May together with Spider-Man over them certainly hints at the latter’s death. That would certainly be one of the only things that would measure up to the teaser of “Peter Parker’s world will never be the same. Don’t miss one of the most pivotal issues in Spider-Man history!”

Now are we to believe Aunt May will die? Based on Marvel’s history that would be a no. Aunt May has more lives than Black Cat. Every time it seems they will do something with her we go down a One More Day/Brand New Day scenario.

Though to Joe Kelly’s credit, he has built his entire Amazing Spider-Man run on doing big things. Every story arc has seen something big change from Spider-Man fighting a being from another realm. Peter Parker lost in space, and a Venom crossover. Aunt May’s death ahead of Amazing Spider-Man #1000 would continue the trend of doing big things.
