DC Comics April 2026 solicitations are here! April brings us the second month post-DC K.O. While we don’t get the full picture of the impact DC K.O. will have on the DC Universe’s future we do have hints. The biggest ones come from both the Superman Family and Justice League books. Then there are big things going on with Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and others. Let’s break down the ten biggest takeaways from DC Comics April 2026 solicitations.
10) DC COMICS KEEP THE JEPH LOEB EXPERIENCE GOING

No doubt Jeph Loeb has helped produced top sellers for both DC Comics and Marvel. For as much as the story of Batman: H2SH has been critically panned by fans and critics it has sold well. But as we’ve seen with Loeb’s return to comic books it has been nothing but tapping into nostalgia.
While Batman: H2SH is selling well that is because it is a sequel to a highly regard story from over two decades ago. And the experience with that has left a sour taste because of not only its quality but being highly delayed.
With that in mind, it’ll certainly be interesting if Loeb’s new DC Comics series Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth will sell. Loeb is certainly leaning into name value for this series. Loeb and DC Comics desperation to make it sell is seen in the solicitation for Batman/Wonder Woman: The Truth makes mention this will be a follow-up to H2SH. That doesn’t say much about the confidence to sell because Loeb has a good story to tell and is still relying on nostalgia for everything he does.
9) KYLE RAYNER AND JOHN STEWART BIG MOVES

Kyle Rayner is making a big move back to Los Angeles. This is a return that was something that didn’t seem likely for Kyle. He’s been up in space dealing with all sorts of Green Lantern matters. And since Hal Jordan and John Stewart have been positioned as the main Green Lanterns its meant Kyle’s time on Earth in general has become rare. So we’ll see if it is a good change for Kyle to return to Los Angeles since he is bringing Odyssey the Time Bandit along with him.
Then there is John Stewart continuing to deal with having to manage using the power of Parallax. This has caused many issues already for John. Those issue seem to reach a boiling point in Green Lantern Corps #15 that’ll say a lot for how his 2026 will go.
8) TITANS OF TOMORROW FOR DC ALL IN ERA

The New Titans won’t get much time to get used to the change in their direction. That is thanks to it, it looking like we will be getting a Titans of Tomorrow/Days of Future Past story starting in New Titans #34.
Telling alternate universe or dark future stories isn’t anything new to the Teen Titans franchise. Many of the teams have had to deal with possible futures impacting their direction. Most recently it happened with Titans Academy.
Hopefully this latest possible dark future story isn’t setting a specific direction for the series. New Titans should get time to develop the mentor-mentee dynamic that it can have with the current Titans teaching the major next generation heroes. If not given time New Titans could suffer from what impacted New 52 Teen Titans and Titans Academy.
7) EMPEROR AQUAMAN EXPANDS HIS REACH IN THE DC UNIVERSE

Emperor Aquaman is going to be waiting around to make decisions post-DC K.O. His experience in both that event and against Darkseid in the last year opened Aquaman’s eyes. To protect Atlantis he needs to expand Atlantis reach beyond the waters of Earth.
That is seen to be the case in Emperor Aquaman #16. That issue will see Emperor Aquaman sending out representatives to different corners of the DC universe. What that actually means is anyone’s guess. Especially with the state of the cosmic side of the DCU with everything the Green Lantern Corps have done recently.
Then there is also Jackson Hyde seemingly getting a new push in the Emperor Aquaman era. DC Comics has failed to show any sort of commitment to characters in the franchise. The only characters of note has been Aquaman and Mera. We’ll see if Jackson Hyde can finally catch on beyond being a niche fan favorite like all other Aquaman sidekicks.
6) BATMAN/SUPERMAN WORLD’S FINEST 50TH ISSUE MILESTONE

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest is going to hit a big milestone in April as it will release its 50th issue that month. That is great milestone for this series that has been existing in its own pocket of modernizing the DC Universe. It has been consistently one of DC Comics best titles since it started publishing.
For Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #50 we will see the return of Dan Mora, who helped Mark Waid establish the quality level expected from this series. Dan Mora has continuously shown himself to be the best artist in the industry. This will further cement that as he will be drawing a big Batman and Superman Family team-up for this milestone issue.
5) ZATANNA & FIRESTORM LEAD DC NEXT LEVEL SECOND MONTH

DC Next Level enters its second month bringing two new titles to DC Comics April 2026 publishing line-up. These titles are Zatanna by Jamal Campbell and The Fury of Firestorm by Jeff Lemire and Rafael De Latorre. With that DC Comics is setting up the cadence for what DC Next Level will be. They aren’t looking to just publish multiple new titles the same month.
This approach hopefully means that DC Comics has a promotional push to build awareness for DC Next Level. That is something that both DC Comics and Marvel have been bad about after a few months into their big direction. Having a more measured publishing approach should open up the way.
As for the two new DC Next Level titles themselves, Zatanna and The Fury of Firestorm certainly have strong creative teams. Jamal Campbell returning to write an ongoing Zatanna series after last year’s mini-series is great news. Campbell’s Zatanna mini-series was one of my favorite comic books of 2025. For The Fury of Firestorm it’ll be interesting to see if Jeff Lemire and Rafael De Latorre being well established names can help give Firestorm his first successful series in quite a while.
4) JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED EXPANDING AGAIN

Coming off DC K.O. the Justice League Unlimited concept will continue. Though the upcoming April developments might turn the opinions of the JLU concept around in a negative light.
That comes in the way of Justice League Unlimited #18 solicitation teasing villains and other unlikable characters joining the roster. The solicitation doesn’t say exactly who is getting invites to join the Justice League. Though the variant covers for JLU #18 tease Cheetah, King Shark, and Giganta along with Lex Luthor and Gorilla Grodd bringing back the Legion of Doom.
Then there is another expansion with the Justice League Intergalactic Special one-shot. Having Star Sapphire assemble a team to deal with cosmic threats is a more logical expansion of the JLU. Especially considering the impact the changes to the Emotional Spectrum have had on the greater cosmic side of the DCU. This one-shot could tease us with a bigger storyline for that side of the DCU in 2026.
3) GOTHAM CITY AND BLUDHAVEN BIG CHANGES

The Batman Family has seen big changes happening in the two major cities they live in to start 2026. In Gotham City Vandel Savage’s reign as Commissioner of the GCPD has basically gotten full political control of the city. Meanwhile in Bludhaven the city Nightwing protects is becoming a super natural city after the Fifth Dimension chaos Zanni brought.
Both things show that things will not be normal for the Batman Family 2026. Or at least what Batman fans have come to expect as the normal for them. This includes what looks like Poison Ivy joining forces with Vandel Savage, Catwoman making her Gotham City debut, and Batgirl dealing more underground assassins.
This sense of unknown is something the Batman Family has needed. We’ve been in a road of predictability for the last few years. Not knowing exactly what direction the franchise is taking can lead to bigger things fans can be excited for
2) REIGN OF THE SUPERBOYS BRINGS BACK YOUNG JON KENT

Just as Jon Kent joined the Titans alongside Yara Flor and Stephanie Brown there is an even bigger change for the character. That change is returning to his younger Super Son teen form that made him famous. This is something fans have been asking for as just about everyone has been in agreement that aging up Jon Kent was a mistake. That includes DC Comics as they recently tried to give him Super Son as his hero name to give the older Jon Kent some nostalgic ties.
Now while this could be a much needed return to form for Jon Kent we can’t expect it to be permanent. Afterall, the solicitation for Superman Unlimited #12 does lean into this Jon Kent being a time displaced version of the character. It is all part of the bigger Reign of the Superboys storyline. So to expect young Jon Kent to return permanently could just lead to long-term disappointment.
This development also helps to hide the fact that April will be the second month that Superman is missing in the present-day. With this no longer being a coincidence, it points to something character changing happening to Superman in DC K.O.’s finale. Superman’s absence could very well be tied to the bigger plans going on in the DC Universe for the second half of 2026.
1) DEBUTS FILL ABSOLUTE UNIVERSE’S APRIL

There’s a trend in the Absolute Universe titles for April. That trend is debuts. In Absolute Batman we got new inmates from Ark M, Absolute Superman will be the first appearance of Shazam, Absolute Wonder Woman will unlock her third lasso named Troika, Absolute Green Lantern has Tomar-Re showing up, and Absolute Martian Manhunter will show us the mysterious Agency boss. Not to be left out, Absolute Flash will also feature Wally West and Linda Park navigating the mysterious Mirror dimension.
Given all the characters DC Comics has in their stable there continues to be plenty of opportunity to give new Absolute Universe presentations for all of them. That is to the credit to the trust the Absolute Universe built in their first year that it is genuinely exciting to just hear new characters are debuting. We want to see how characters like Shazam, Poison Ivy, Tomar-Re, and others will be changed by how the Absolute Universe was shaped.
The same goes for locations and items being used. For Absolute Wonder Woman we still don’t know what the Troika lasso does. That’s created a sense of it being a dangerous weapon. In Absolute Flash, we’ll see how the Mirror dimension is different from its DC Universe counterpart. Or it could be connected to the DCU, providing a closer tie to both universes.
