Marvel Comics April 2026 solicitations are here! April looks to be a month dominated by plans for the Spider-Man franchise between the end of its big crossover to kickoff 2026 to a questionable new title for the franchise. That is on top of things like Ultimate Endgame’s finale bringing the latest iteration of the Ultimate Universe to a close in April. Let’s break down the ten biggest takeaways from Marvel Comics April 2026 solicitations.
10) IRON MAN NEW EVOLUTION

Iron Man is always a character that is evolving, for better or worse. That has been especially a trend since the introduction of Extremis. Now we are seeing Tony Stark enter a new period of evolution in the upcoming Iron Man #4.
Part of this evolution is pushing the narrative of Tony’s Iron Man being “Most dangerous weapon in the Marvel Universe.” That push comes with Tony developing new technology to deal with the rising threat Madame Masque has become. But with anything Tony develops there are risks that we always have to be concerned by. What these risks are could end up playing a role in the Armageddon event, which also seems to be about various weapons in the Marvel Universe.
9) ETERNALS QUIETLY CELEBRATING 50TH ANNIVERSARY

There was a point that Marvel was pushing the Eternals to be their next big thing. Between the their own live-action MCU movie and leading the A.X.E.: Judgment Day comic book event the Marvel Universe was the Eternals to have. But just as the Inhumans had to experience, Marvel ended up dropping the ball with their Eternals push.
How badly Marvel push went is maybe best exemplified this coming April. As revealed by Marvel Comics April 2026 solicitations this year will mark the 50th anniversary for the Eternals. To commemorate that major milestone anniversary the Eternals are getting a celebratory one-shot in April. But what else is there planned to celebrate the milestone? Nothing, yet.
The fact that the only promotion the Eternals are getting is this one-shot says a lot. Marvel must really look inward more at how they handle pushing teams and characters without much cache. Because the Eternals and Inhumans got such big pushes that went nowhere and Marvel has only themselves to blame.
8) CAROL DANVERS MS. Marvel PAST EXPLORED

Captain Marvel may not have a new ongoing, but she will be having a continued presence in the Marvel Universe even without the Avengers team books. Captain Marvel has joined the Imperial Guardians to deal with the current state of the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe. Now Marvel is going to be exploring a secret part of Carol Danvers past in Captain Marvel: Dark Past.
We haven’t seen Marvel go back to Carol’s past as Ms. Marvel very much. Since she became Captain Marvel, there is have a concerted effort to have that be the only superhero name she is known for. Her Ms. Marvel past is something that Marvel seems to want to forget as that is any part of her modern presentation. Any appearance outside comics shows Carol starting off as Captain Marvel.
So maybe the mini-series titled Captain Marvel: Dark Past is appropriate. It is something that Marvel seems to wish wasn’t part of who Carol was. That said, maybe having a legend like writer Paul Jenkins and artist Lucas Werneck in the comic book means we will get an honest exploration of Carol’s time as Ms. Marvel. We’ll wait and see.
7) JUBILEE LEADS X-MEN SPOTLIGHT

Jubilee is finally getting her respect from Marvel by getting a spotlight one-shot to lead the April plans for the X-Men. Jubilee’s character has been one that has been slowly rejuvenated over the course of the last few years. Gene Luen Yang writing and Michael Yg drawing the one-shot is great news for her as both have consistently delivered great comics for multiple comic book brands.
The X-Men also are positioned to have a big April. The things that have been happening in the Shadows of Tomorrow direction are all hitting a major point in April. Across X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant, and other titles there are hints of big developments.
These developments are likely to say a lot of what crossover event Marvel is building towards for the X-Men. Which, like Spider-Man, means they’ll play a secondary role in Armageddon while also having their own event to deal with in the second half of 2026.
6) SORCERER SUPREME VS DORMAMMU

Sorcerer Supreme #1 opened with Scarlet Witch showing her power against Dormammu. That help showcase why Scarlet Witch was the best person to be the new Sorcerer Supreme. It has certainly helped build strong momentum for the early stages of Wanda Maximoff’s new title she gained for herself.
But Dormammu isn’t a villain to let the embarrassing way he got his ass handed to him lying down. He is going to return in Sorcerer Supreme #5 looking to take his revenge. This time it’s not just Scarlet Witch but also on the Dark Dimension’s Sorcerer Supreme, Clea.
Getting to see Wanda and Clea interact should be a fun thing as they are characters that hardly interact. Both being Sorcerer Supreme for their respective dimensions can lead to a lot of cool things in exploring magic in the Marvel Universe. We also get to see Dormammu as close to his full power, so he’ll have no excuses when he loses to Wanda and Clea. Win, win.
5) CAPTAIN AMERICA AND WOLVERINE FACE WEAPONS OF ARMAGEDDON

The marc to Armageddon continues in April. With Armageddon only a month away when April ends the issues of Captain America and Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon for that month take a greater importance. These respective comics April issues will firm up the foundation that Armageddon will be built on.
On the Captain America side both the ninth and tenth issues of the series are pushing the True Latveria and SHIELD narratives forward. What the results of this story Captain America is dealing with will say a lot about Armageddon. With the SHIELD mention we could see a part of the mission with Armageddon is to return that organization to prominence in the Marvel Universe once again.
Then for Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, there is the continued narrative around Weapons that can play a role in Armageddon. This is an additional element to Armageddon to go alongside the role the Origin Box is set to play. We could see how the rise of a whole new set of superhumans is introduced into the Marvel Universe.
4) MONTH WITHOUT THE AVENGERS

March saw the conclusion of the current volume of the Avengers ongoing series. Now we see in Marvel Comics April 2026 solicitations the first month of the second quarter will be a month without an Avengers single issue comic. There will be some Avengers’ trades but nothing with the team having an ongoing or mini-series.
This is a bit of coincidence since New Avengers is on a two-month hiatus in March and April with its return set for May. That does create the question of what exactly Marvel’s 2026 plans for the team considered to be Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be? For the Avengers related characters we do have individual comics for Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Sentry, and Wonder Man. So, on the solo side it’s not like we have a hole in content from characters normally on the team
With Armageddon just months away it would not be smart to suddenly launch a new ongoing. Given the way 2026 has already been presented it seems like what we will have is a lot of Avengers mini-series. That includes individual characters. Some may be tie-ins to Armageddon and others will be like Captain Marvel: Dark Past that’ll be origin-like stories. That will leave things so the post-Armageddon status quo can launch with a clean slate for all the new ongoings as part of that direction.
3) WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE

April will see the end of the Amazing Spider-Man and Venom crossover “Death Spiral.” This is a major deal for multiple reasons. For one it will set up the new status quo for both Spider-Man and Venom, two of Marvel’s top sellers. Another is that the ending will likely set-up what the dynamic will be between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, a relationship Marvel keeps pushing apart. Then there is the fact Peter will have to deal with what Ben Reilly and Norman Osborn did to impact his life while he was lost in space.
One thing spinning out of the current Amazing Spider-Man direction is a new mini-series titled Spider-Versity. This series will see Norman Osborn and Jessica Drew teaching Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and other Spider-Man Family members to be superheroes. Yes, that’s right Norman Osborn the former Green Goblin and guy who has been getting his ass kicked while acting as Spider-Man will teach Miles and Gwen to be heroes. This is absolutely the last type of comic as a Spider-Man fan that I want to read and will be definite pass, even on Marvel Unlimited.
This all puts into question what exactly Marvel plan to do with the Spider-Man franchise in 2026. Because we are going into the year with Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Knull, and Black Cat comics in the franchise. Miles Morales has had his series canceled as of January 2026 and the young Spider-teens all have Spider-Versity in their future. That is coming off a year where it felt like every Spider-Man family member had an ongoing or mini-series. Will that even happen given how Armageddon is set to dominate the majority of 2026 for Marvel?
2) SUPERMAN & SPIDER-MAN FAMILIES MEET

April will be Marvel’s turn to have their editorial take on the Superman and Spider-Man crossover. Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz have been tapped to work on the main crossover story for this one-shot. We also got stories from the creative teams of Dan Slott and Marcos Martin, Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman, Louise Simonson and Todd Nauck, Joe Kelly and Humberto Ramos, and Brian Bendis and Sara Pichelli.
The creative team assembled certainly drives home this being a big comic book for Marvel and DC Comics. And unlike the Batman/Deadpool, these Spider-Man/Superman one-shots are being promoted as stories between the families of these characters. That’s not surprising given that Spider-Man and Superman not only have various alternate versions of themselves but related characters in their main universe. So having the one-shot be about the Spider-Man and Superman families teaming up helps to show the legacy of these two.
The one-shots being done this way is also smart with how Spider-Man and Superman are positioned in the greater Marvel and DC Comics brand. Spider-Man’s 2026 will not only keep up its typical comic book momentum but will have an MCU movie coming out in the summer. Meanwhile, Superman has been firmly positioned as the starting point for the new live-action DCU that James Gunn is building. Those two things make Spider-Man/Superman an early contender for top selling comic book in in 2026.
1) ULTIMATE ENDGAME REACHES ITS CONCLUSION

The latest iteration of the Ultimate Universe will officially come to an end in April. Both the final issue of Ultimate Endgame and a celebration final one-shot for the Ultimate Universe are set for April. That is going to be a major deal for Marvel as the Ultimate Universe has been a big part of Marvel’s publishing plans for the last two years.
The ending of Ultimate Endgame also could provide hints at what Marvel has planned for Armageddon. The creative teams behind this Ultimate Universe, like Deniz Camp, have said they did have plans outlined for a third year of books post-Ultimate Endgame. Those plans could possibly be worked into Armageddon as we know the Origin Box that Miles Morales brought back from the Ultimate Universe plays a role in the event.
If the Origin Box is to play a role it could mean, we could see the Ultimate Universe factor into the summer Marvel event. There are characters like Maystorm whose breakout characters have been like Miles Morales that could make their way to Earth-616. Whatever happens it will be sad to see this iteration of the Ultimate Universe end as it has given us some of Marvel’s best comic books in the last two and a half years.
