DC Comics October 2026 comic book solicitations have arrived! With the solicitations we see how DC Comics October 2026 continues to build up sub-plots that will play a bigger role in 2027. That includes further developments for things that will come into play in the upcoming Absolute Crisis event. 10) GUARDIANS VS GREEN LANTERN CORPS
It is a written rule that the Green Lantern Corps and Guardians won’t be able to keep the peace for quite a while. The Guardians have constantly shown how they are not to be trusted as the final rule of law no matter how many chances they are given the by DC Universe. The power they wield always gets to their heads as believing themselves god-level beings.
We see this yet again as Krona is leading the Guardians against the Green Lantern Corps in Green Lantern #40. Specifically, Krona and the Guardians appear to be looking to kill Hal Jordan. This isn’t all that surprising since Hal has been made part of the Book of Oa, something the Guardians are likely not happy about. Something that Jessica Cruz is also dealing with from the Alpha Guardians in Green Lantern Corps #21.
9) ABSOLUTE FLASH EXPLORES THE MICROVERSE
DC K.O. was Absolute Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman’s experience outside their universe. Now it looks like Absolute Flash will be joining along having a new experience in another universe in October. As shown in Absolute Flash #20’s solicitation Absolute Wally West is going to go on a journey in the Absolute Microverse.
Up to this point the most extensive look at other worlds in the Absolute Universe has been Krypton. Seeing how Darkseid’s influence impacts other worlds, in this case the Microverse, will be interesting to see. It could play a bigger role in the upcoming Absolute Crisis event that we see other ways Darkseid changed things beyond character origins.
8) JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED TEASING SUPERHERO CIVIL WAR
The more time we get away from DC K.O. the more the internal conflict the superhero community are dealing with continues to grow. This plot line is the major focus of Justice League Unlimited where we see the villains getting pardon being dealt with. That has caused a lot of friction after certain villains joining the Justice League Unlimited roster.
Now in Justice League Unlimited #24 that seems to be coming to a head. The solicitation for the issue speaks about Batman and Lex Luthor’s recent actions causing the Justice League to be less united than ever. If the cracks start to become craters than that could mean that we could see some sort of superhero civil war going on in the future. That or this situation could play a part in the Absolute Crisis we know is happening in 2027.
7) JEFF LEMIRE ENDS RUN ON JSA
The latest ongoing JSA series has been going since the start of DC All In. Now after two years writer Jeff Lemire is ending his creative run on JSA. To end his run he will have Wildcat, Dr. Midnite, and Hourman working together to save one of their former teammates.
The story in JSA #24 certainly sounds like it will be a good way for Lemire to end his run on the series. The question is if this will be the end to the latest volume of JSA. We’ve had a whole convention season come and go without DC Comics making a mention of how the JSA factor into the future of the DCU. They haven’t even announced a new creative team for JSA. That likely signals that this volume of JSA will end with Lemire’s exit.
6) ETRIGAN AND JONAH HEXT JOIN DC NEXT LEVEL
The next comic books to join the DC Next Level train are The Demon and Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death. These two titles show that DC Comics is just looking to have their traditional heroes be in the spotlight. Its something they need to show they are looking to tackle different types of story that are not necessarily rooted in superhero style stories.
With that in mind it does make The Demon and Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death two titles that will say a lot for the overall feeling for DC Next Level. At this point in DC Next Level there have been enough new titles that brought in that its not just about hoping fans will add these two. DC Next Level is at a point where fans have to decide if trying these comics is worth it if their pull lists are already filled.
From a story standpoint The Demon is the one that stands out most because it could deal with more the magic side of the DC Universe. Right now we only have Zatanna that is dealing with that. Etrigan the Demon could give us a different glimpse at how magic is now working in the DC Universe, playing a complimentary role to Zatanna.
5) LEX LUTHOR DEFINITIVE ORIGIN
The constantly moving timeline will always be an issue DC Comics and Marvel have to deal with for their respective continuities. It causes a lot of problems for what can be considered in continuity, especially when major character choices are made. Lex Luthor is a great example of this. From running a billion dollar company, being the most wanted super-villain, President of the United States, and helping to save the universe he has literally done it all.
All these things that Lex has done has made it questionable to what different creators will keep in continuity. Now DC Comics is looking to define Lex’s origin in Action Comics #1103. They’ve assigned Mark Waid and Patricio Delpeche the job of telling Lex’s definitive origin. Waid has been DC’s go to guy for these updated origin stories so it will at least be in line with how the DC Universe has been shaped the last few years.
4) BAD SEEDS TEASES BATMAN FAMILY DEATH
Bad Seeds will continue to shape what the Batman franchise will be dealing with during the month of October. Every character is being tested by how things come to a head in Bad Seeds. From Nightwing and Robin’s dynamic being revisited to both Batman and Poison Ivy dealing with attacks very close their homes in Gotham City.
There are certainly a lot of big things that will happen with Bad Seeds. But the biggest thing that will happen during Bad Seeds is a possible death in the Batman Family. That is something teased in Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham General #2 solicitation that mentions a hero is on death’s door.
While we are kept in the dark for who the hero that’s on deaths door there could be a hidden detail that reveals who that character is. That is from the fact that Batwoman #8 solicitation speaks about the GCPD’s TUCO is looking to kill Batwoman. Who is the writer of both Batwoman and Gotham General? None other than Greg Rucka. Gotham Central #2 could play as extension of what Rucka plans on doing in Batwoman #8.
3) TEEN TITANS SIDE WITH RED HOOD OVER NIGHTWING
Teen Titans #2 solicitation makes it clear that the new team of superhero teens have rejected the old guard. Specifically, it is called out that Nightwing offered Cheshire Cat, Fairplay, Flatline, Proxy, and Wildcard membership in New Titans. But they seem to make it clear they rather follow Red Hood as their leader and mentor over Nightwing.
That is certainly a choice to make. It does help differentiate the Teen Titans from New Titans even more. New Titans are following more of the traditional teen heroes uniting together like the original Teen Titans. Meanwhile, the new Teen Titans are more a rebellious group, possibly following in what we saw with Red Hood’s Outlaw group years ago.
This is not a bad thing at all as there needed to be a differentiator between New Titans and Teen Titans. It’s a choice that drives home the importance of Jason Todd growing as a leader. It’ll be the first time Jason will be in a position to mentor on top of leading a team. Being a mentor to impressionable teens is a whole different animal from leading a team of peers like his former Outlaws team. We’ll see if he is ready to step up in this new role.
2) DARKSIDE VS THE WORLD SETS STAGE FOR ABSOLUTE CRISIS
The DC All In Saga will be getting even bigger in 2027. It has already been announced that the next event in the saga will be Absolute Crisis. The build for that event already started with the events that went down in DC K.O. Now as an epilogue for DC K.O. and prologue for Absolute Crisis we are getting a one-shot titled Darkseid vs the World.
Darkseid vs the World will reshape Darkseid’s origin story to prep the character to lead the Absolute Crisis. What we learn about Darkseid from this one-shot will be interesting as there is so much about him we already know. But we can at least trust that Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson have a clear plan in mind of how to build up Darkseid ahead of Absolute Crisis.
1) ABSOLUTE BATMAN & WONDER WOMAN CELEBRATE MILESTONE
The 25th issue of any ongoing series is a major milestone to hit. It is usually a sign of a series that has maintained success as it enters its third year of publication. That is certainly the case for both Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman.
Both Batman and Wonder Woman have been in a friendly competition of who has not just the best Absolute Universe but DC Comics best comic book. It says a lot for what Scott Snyder and Kelly Thompson, along with their collaborators, have accomplished with both series. They have constantly challenged the character in a fresh, new way while keeping the core of what makes Batman and Wonder Woman special.
Both Absolute Batman #25 and Absolute Wonder Woman #25 tease that they will be major turning point issues for their respective lead characters. Absolute Wonder Woman #25 solicitation goes into a little more detail with the debut of Barbara Minerva as Absolute Cheetah. Though we can piece together that Absolute Batman #25 will also feature Bruce Wayne dealing with consequences of his choices, both known and unknown.
