The Revolution is a complete car nut, so I figured it was time to find a Top 10 involving cars for this week. I didn’t find a Top 10 list, however I did stumble across a Top 6 list from AskMen.com counting down the top 6 most overrated cars on the market.

6. Toyota Prius
5. Land Rover Range Rover
4. Porsche Cayenne
3. Dodge Viper SRT 10
2. Dodge Durango
1. BMW 3-series

I can’t say that I am surprised by the cars that made this list of the 6 most overrated cars on the market. The Toyota Prius got dinged because it is expensive to maintain and its excellent gas mileage that it boasts is actually quite difficult to get in real life. The Range Rover is a no-brainer. They are expensive and break down constantly. The Porsche Cayenne was also expected. Porsche and SUV are two words that should never be associated with each other.

The Dodge Viper SRT 10 is also no surprise. Out of all the “exotic” super cars, the Viper has lost much of its original luster. When the Viper first came out it was the ultimate American sports car. It was curvy car that simply looked nasty, belligerent and aggressive. The Viper was a distinctive car that stood out in a crowd. Now, it looks like a generic cheesy American sports car. I get it confused with Corvettes and the old Camaros and Trans Ams all the time. The other Dodge on this list, the Durango, is also not surprising. The Durango is expensive and is certainly the most boring and unappealing SUV on the market.

Now let’s talk about the number one most overrated car, the BMW 3-series. I know that plenty of my fellow attorneys probably sprayed their Starbuck’s venti, caff, half-decaff, Splenda, double shot Americano coffees all over their starched dress shirts when they saw their beloved yuppie mobile at the number one spot on this list. Pretentious country club loving yuppie bastards. I hate the BMW 3-series. And I agree with Askmen.com when they state that the BMW 3-series is way overpriced and that the Acura TL, Audi A4 and Infiniti G35 sedans deliver the goods with better value and without the negative stereotypes.

All right, let’s check out the comic books for this week. It looks like we have a whopping total of 17 titles headed to the Bunker this week. That is insane. I seriously have an addiction when it comes to comic books. I need help. Seriously. Plenty of quality professional psychological counseling. This week’s shipment of comic books is definitely heavier with Marvel titles than DC titles.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? There can be only one choice. Booster Gold #0. I absolutely love what Johns and Katz are giving us on this title. This issue is a Zero Hour issue that is only around 10 years late. It should be great watching Booster and Blue Beetle back in action once again. These two guys make one of the best crime fighting duos around. Also, it should be fun watching our two heroes knock heads with Parallax in this issue.

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Superman #673. I am a big fan of Kurt Busiek, so I have been surprised that I have found his run on Superman to be incredibly ordinary. I haven’t gotten excited to read Superman since the end of Infinite Crisis. Action Comics has certainly provided a more entertaining read since the end of Infinite Crisis than Superman has. Busiek’s run is coming to a close soon, so hopefully DC will have something interesting in store for us with Superman.

Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Oh man, this is going to be a tough one. We have so many choices for this week. This is an incredible week from the House of Ideas. We get plenty of new creative teams making their debuts this week.

I’m excited for Captain Marvel #3. This mini-series has been a pleasant surprise. I can only hope that Marvel decides to let Captain Marvel stick around on a permanent basis.

I’m also looking forward to Ghost Rider #20. Daniel Way’s horrific run has mercifully come to an end. Jason Aaron takes over the writing chores on this title with this issue. I have never read anything by Jason Aaron, but I do know that it simply can’t be worse than what we got from Way.

I’m curious to read the debut issue of X-Force. X-Force #1 is written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle and drawn by Clayton Crain. I know absolutely nothing about Yost and Kyle. Hopefully, they can deliver a solid read. Crain’s artwork is certainly unique looking. With the exception of Lady Wolverine, I totally dig the roster for X-Force. Honestly, I would have bought this comic just because Warpath is on the team. If nothing else, X-Force should make for a fun mindless action story.

As always, I am eagerly looking forward to X-Factor #28. David constantly delivers an excellent read on this title. X-Factor #28 is an issue that marks a new direction for this title as Rahne leaves the team and Layla is still missing. This certainly should be an exciting issue.

I’m going to have to go with Fantastic Four #554 as the issue that I am most looking forward to read this week. Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch take over the reins of this title with Fantastic Four #554. I absolutely loved Millar and Hitch’s run on The Ultimates. They two guys make for an excellent team. I have purposely avoided any spoilers concerning Millar’s plans for this title. I am definitely excited to find out what Millar has in store for us. It will be nice for the Fantastic Four to be a quality read once again.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? Oh, this one is just too easy. It has to be New Avengers #38. The promo for this issue reads more like the latest episode of “As The World Turns” rather than an issue of the Avengers. It looks like New Avengers #38 is trying to stake an early claim to this week’s Sequential Methadone Award.

I’ll try my best to start posting reviews as soon as possible. I hope everyone enjoys their new comic books for this week.

  1. Booster Gold
    Captain Marvel
    Fantastic Four
    X-Factor
    X-Force
    Wonder Woman

I’ve decided to stick with X-Factor for now, since I’ve been buying it for seven straight months at this point because of various crossovers (I had previously bought a couple of issues, then dropped it); the new status quo will be interesting.

  2. I’m going to second Booster Gold #0 as the DC book i’m excited to read and choose probably Simon Dark #5 as least excited. Issues #1-3 were good and took a dip in #4.

Also interested in Tiny Tians #1!

Nothing from Marvel this week, so I won’t comment on that.
