Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless #1 Preview

Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless #1 Preview – Drakkon Rangers Rise!

BOOM! Studios has provided us with a preview of Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless, a one-shot that continues the Power Rangers 30th anniversary celebration releasing next week, on Wednesday, June 28th. This one-shot will bring us back to the Power Rangers’ Coinless Universe that was introduced during Kyle Higgins run on the franchise. For this 40-page one-shot BOOM! Studios has assembled the creative team of writer Adam Cesare, artist Moisés Hidalgo, and colorist Arthur Hesli.

As with previous Power Rangers Unlimited one-shots The Coinless will be building off events in other comic books. Specifically, with the return to the Coinless Universe where the Ranger Slayer Kimberly and the surviving Rangers are rebuilding the world after what happened Power Rangers: Drakkon New Dawn. Things will become complicated as in this past week’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #109 we know that Lord Drakkon, with former Omega Ranger Kiya by his side, is making his return to the Coinless Universe. That return appears to be successful as we learn in the solicitation for Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless

As if the medium-spanning, fan-favorite villain Drakkon wasn’t enough of a threat, Mistress Vile has special plans of her own… ones that will bring the Rangers’ greatest foe into our world! But this scheming isn’t without consequences for Drakkon, and he’ll have to take a page from Zordon’s book if he wants the world of The Coinless to survive.

As we see in the cover by Dan Mora it appears as though Dark Specter will be playing a role in the story, after previously sending Eclipta to invade The Coinless Universe’s Earth in Power Rangers: Drakkon New Dawn. That is a big deal on its own. But we know that BOOM! Studios Power Rangers are about to begin their newest event titled Darkest Hour, which is being promoted at hitting on a Shattered Grid level. What happens in Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless could end up factoring into the Darkest Hour event.
