The Revolution’s Second Anniversary

February marks the second anniversary of The Revolution. I cannot believe it has already been two years! I never thought that I would be doing this blog for longer than maybe six months or so. This blog started off as just an outlet for me to blow off some steam about comic books, discuss comic books with fellow fans and to try and encourage people to try reading titles that they never thought about reading before.

And what has been the most rewarding part of doing The Revolution is whenever anyone posts that they tried a certain title because of my reviews and that they now read the title regularly. That is awesome. Spreading the joy of comic books is wonderful.

In the first year, The Revolution had around 50,000 visitors. I was stunned and amazed. Well, The Revolution continues to spread across the globe as we blew past our first year totals and had around 195,000 visitors in our second year. The massive jump in the number of visitors between our first year and our second year has totally shocked me.

And what is really cool is that The Revolution has followers not only all across America, but also all across the world. I think that we have followers in every single European country, South American country, Asian country and even some from the Middle East. I love that The Revolution is able to shrink the globe and come into contact with so many people from various different countries. This is one of the coolest aspects of the internet. Being able to connect with people across the world is a beautiful thing. No matter our differences we all share a common love for comic books.

I want to thank everyone out there who supports The Revolution. I love hearing comments from you all. It doesn’t matter if you guys agree or disagree with me. I dig the discourse of hearing another point of view. Plus, what has really impressed me the most about the followers of The Revolution is how intelligent and respectful all of your comments are no matter if you guys are basically telling me that I am totally wrong about a certain issue! 😉 That truly is a rarity with most internet discussions.

Thanks again to all the Revolutionaries out there and hopefully The Revolution will continue to spread during our third year.

  3. Just wanted to say that I am a regular reader and a comic collector since 1994 with 24 long boxes and growing. Your site is my first stop for reviews each week, as we have some of the same tastes in titles.

Your reviews have talked me into some books I was wondering about and convinced me to drop some books I was collecting to “complete the set”. Justification being, “hey, Rokk will fill me in and scan the last page cliffhanger, why should I buy this crap (New Avengers)?”

Just wanted to say keep up the good work and I hope you do this for a long time to come.

  4. Your success is well deserved, gentlemen; keep up the good work, and don’t be too surprised when your hits double and triple again.

You’re an invaluable resource to all Comic Geeks at large, so I humbly add my thanks to the chorus. May you have many more years!

  5. Congratulations!
That’s quite a milestone, and quite a readership! A well deserved hallmark of a site that does a great deal to bring weekly reviews to a great many people!

I know I like being able to sneak onto the site to check up on what’s happening in releases I haven’t yet been able to read. :-p

Keep up the good work, chief!
