Energon Universe Preview: Transformers #30

Transformers has hit 2026 the ground running. The most recent issue of the series featured an intense fight between the Autobots and Decepticons. The fight ended with a surprise move by Elita-1. Now Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics has provided us with a first look at Transformers #30 ahead of its March 11th release.

As we saw at the end of Transformers #29, Elita-1 made a surprise reappearance. She didn’t appear to help out the Autobots. Rather, Elita-1 showed up to confront Optimus Prime ahead of his past leadership decisions. This confrontation is something that the solicitation for the upcoming March release teases will be heavily spotlighted:

Who will lead the Autobots? It’s Optimus Prime vs Elita-1. The fate of the Autobots hangs in the balance, because in the end, one shall stand…One thing’s for sure; nothing will be the same in the TRANSFORMERS universe when a victor emerges.

Transformers #30 will arrive in stores with its main cover by artist David Nakayama. Additionally, variant covers will also be available by artists Daniel Warren Johnson & Mike Spicer, Jorge Corona & Mike Spicer, Taurin Clarke, Dan Mora & Andres Juarez, and Joshua Cassara & Romulo Fajardo Jr. Check out the covers and two-page textless preview below.
