AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Joe Kelly
Artists: Ed McGuinness and Todd Nauck
Inkers: Mark Farmer, Wade Von Grawbadger, Ed McGuinness, and Todd Nauck
Colorists: Marcio Menyz and Erick Arciniega
Letterer: Joe Caramagna
Amazing Spider-Man #14 drives home how much the story with Norman Osborn and Ben Reilly as leads is just filler content. It is a story to pad out this direction for the series. It is unfortunate because there are elements with how the Spider-Man family and Aunt May react to Peter Parker’s MIA status that work. Unfortunately, the leads Joe Kelly and Spider-Man’s editorial have chosen for this story aren’t working. Click here to read the full review.

FANTASTIC FOUR/GARGOYLES
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Greg Weisman
Artist: Enid Balam
Colorist: Raul Angulo
Letterer: Joe Caramagna
When it comes to brand crossovers first and foremost the question that must be answered was if it was fun? With this Fantastic Four/Gargoyles one-shot special the answer is a definitive yes. This comic book shows these two franchises should have at least a yearly crossover because of how well they work together.
It is no surprise that Fantastic Four/Gargoyles is a blast with Greg Weisman as the writer for this one-shot. He is not only the creator of the Gargoyles but also has plenty of experience writing Marvel characters. That experience shows throughout this one-shot special with the chemistry that shines between the two teams. The world building with how other elements from both the Marvel Universe and Gargoyles world are integrated together help amplify the cohesive narrative in this one-shot. If you are a fan of the Fantastic Four, Gargoyles, or both pick up this comic book as soon as you can.

G.I. JOE #12
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Marco Fodera
Colorist: Lee Loughridge
Letterer: Rus Wooton
Joshua Williamson and Marco Fodera maximized the page count of G.I. JOE #12 to give Shooter a strong introduction. Shooter is put over as a badass sniper who can deal with any mission. At the same time, we get a lot of developments for major sub-plots that drive up the overall interest of this series. Click here to read the full review.
Overall Rating: 8.5 Night Girls out of 10
INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE: BATTLE BEAST #6
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Robert Kirkman
Artist: Ryan Ottley
Colorist: Annalisa Leoni
Letterer: Rus Wooton
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #6 is an absolute blast. Robert Kirkman knew exactly the story that needed to be told. That is simply to craft a story that Ryan Ottley steps in to carry with his amazing artwork. It shows the immense trust Kirkman and Ottley have in each other as a creative team. Ottley does not disappoint as it is just fun ending this series first story arc with Battle Beast and Juggernaut of Emsiu holding nothing back in their brutally bloody fight. NIGHTWING #131
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Dan Watters
Artist: Dexter Soy
Colorist: Veronica Gandini
Letterer: Wes Abbott
Nightwing #131 continues the trend of this series just being a constantly solid series month-in, month-out. Like many current DC Comics series, Nightwing is in a tough spot with changes to the Batman Family and DC starting a new big event. So with that we see Dan Watters and Dexter Soy taking chances of telling a more off the wall story with “Cirque Du Sin.”
A lot of the chances taken in Nightwing #131 ultimately work because of the focus on the characters. There is a lot of care taken with not just Nightwing but the entire cast. The things Killer Moth and the dark circus has an impact on Bludhaven and its protectors. This all creates a situation where Nightwing has to have his head on a swivel with everything thrown at him. It helps create a feeling where you are asking “what is next?”

ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #8
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Ryan North
Artist: R.B. Silva
Colorist: David Curiel
Letterer: Travis Lanham
We are at the endgame now and One World Under Doom #8 pushes that message forward. There is no holding back now that all the cards are on the table. The world knows how Doctor Doom has come to power. But it is too late as Doctor Doom’s power is absolute, proven by how even with all the cool combos the heroes pull off it’s not enough.
This all makes insertion of Valeria Richards even more interesting. Yes, we are beaten over the head with Valeria seeing Doom as her uncle and someone she can still talk to and stop. It is a very last-minute move. But to Ryan North credit he does a good job using this familial relationship to further push Doom to the point of no return. Doom ultimately uses his powers to leave us with an ending where he wins and loses at the same time. What that means for the finale will say a lot about what this nine-issue event meant to these characters.
Overall Rating: 7.5 Night Girls out of 10
POWER RANGERS PRIME #11
CREATIVE TEAM
Writer: Melissa Flores
Artist: Michael Yg
Colorist: Joana Lafuente
Letterer: Ed Dukeshire
Power Rangers Prime #11 is a return to form with the expectations that early issues of this series set. Starting out with a flashback to the Shiba family was a missing element that earlier issues should’ve had. But it is certainly welcomed here as it set the tone for the revelations and stakes for these last two issues of the story arc.
Having the stakes set help drive the connection that’s been needed with the entire cast. Lauren and Rita certainly continue to carry the interest in everything that goes on. But now that we know more about this version of the Eltarians the more we can back the entire cast’s motives. It certainly helps that the VR Troopers are finally given character development and not just treated as the Eltarians muscle. This all sets up what should be an exciting ending for this Power Rangers Prime story arc.
