Skybound and Image Comics will be releasing special Energon Universe manga variant covers for all their December e releases. The December Energon Universe comics getting the special manga variant covers will be M.A.S.K. #7, Transformers #39, G.I. Joe #29, and Void Rivals #37. The Energon Universe manga variants will be handled by mangaka artists Satoshi Shiki and Manabu Yashiro.
Satoshi Shiki is a legendary mangaka whose most well-known work is as the creator of Kamikaze, a manga that ran for seven years. Kamikaze was well known for some stellar character designs. Manabu Yashiro recently got their first ongoing manga series, Tank Chair, that’s been going since 2023 and recently got anime adaptation announced for it.
Having both Satoshi Shiki and Manabu Yashiro creating variant covers for the Energon Universe comics is something Skybound and Image Comics is very excited about. This excitement was something Executive Editor Ben Abernathy spoke about:
