It is time to check out the June 2026 comic book sales rankings. Things are getting murkier in terms of actual unit numbers. So, we must settle for going to ICv2 for their Top 200 sales rankings. It is not as good as actual unit numbers, but we must work with what we get.
Keep in mind that the Top 200 sales rankings are unit and dollar sales rankings based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub and Comic Shop Assistant POS systems at stores selling American comics around the world. During the period in which these reports were generated, over 225 stores were using the two systems. As this is a small, non-random sample of over 3,000 stores selling American comics worldwide, these rankings may not be typical for all stores but do represent a variety of locations and store emphases.
We all know that these ICv2 sales charts are not the most ideal manner of tracking sales. However, as long as publishers hide their sales statistics, this is the best that we have to go by. You can see that these sales charts provide a rough indication of the market, as titles that are canceled tend to correspond with low sales rankings in these ComicHub and Comic Shop Assistant charts. I wish we had better data to analyze, but we have to make do with whatever data we have these days.
The data for the June 2026 comic book sales rankings were collected over a five-week period, from May 31 – July 4, 2026.

June 2026 Top 200 Comic Book Sales Rankings
The Battle for the Top 10
DC Comics annihilated the competition by placing seven comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the seven comics that DC Comics had in the Top 10 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up by a massive margin, as DC Comics had three comics in the Top 10 in June 2025.
Numbers were up from two years ago, as DC Comics had two comics in the Top 10 in June 2024.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as DC Comics had two comics in the Top 10 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had four comics in the Top 10 in June 2022.
Good lord. DC Comics continues to beat the ever-living snot out of Marvel Comics in the Top 10. DC Comics has now placed seven comics in the Top 10 in back-to-back months. This publisher has built an elite sales machine that Marvel Comics simply cannot match at the moment.
Of course, DC Comics remains heavily dependent on the Absolute Universe. Six of DC Comics’ seven issues in the Top 10 came from the Absolute Universe. The other issue was Batman #10 at the number 5 spot.
The Absolute Universe is blessing DC Comics with incredible success, but it is also extreme concentration. DC Comics should enjoy the ride while it lasts because the rest of the regular DCU still is not generating this level of sales heat.
Marvel Comics placed a pathetic two comics in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the two comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 10 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down by a grotesque margin, as Marvel Comics had seven comics in the Top 10 in June 2025.

Marvel Comics continues to look embarrassingly awful in the Top 10. Being flat month-over-month is not good news when the baseline is already a miserable two comics.
Marvel Comics used to routinely flood the Top 10 with issues from a wide range of franchises. Now, Marvel Comics is getting demolished by DC Comics by a score of 7-2. This is not a temporary slump. Marvel Comics has now posted just two comics in the Top 10 in May and June 2026.
The historical comparisons are brutal. Marvel Comics has fallen from six or seven Top 10 comics every June from 2022 through 2025 to just two comics in June 2026. That is a complete collapse of Marvel Comics’ elite sales power.
Image Comics placed one comic in the Top 10. Month-over-month sales were up from the zero comics that Image Comics had in the Top 10 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in June 2025.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as Image Comics had two comics in the Top 10 in June 2024.
Numbers were flat compared to three years ago, as Image Comics had one comic in the Top 10 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as Image Comics had zero comics in the Top 10 in June 2022.
The big takeaway from the Top 10 in June 2026 is simple. DC Comics owns the elite tier of the market. The Absolute Universe continues to steamroll everything in its path. Marvel Comics remains trapped in an ugly historical collapse. Image Comics gets the fun surprise of the month with MASK #1 crashing the Top 10.
The Battle for the Top 25
Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 11-25 range typically sell in the 80,000 to 50,000 unit range.
DC Comics took first place by placing twelve comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the eleven comics that DC Comics had in the Top 25 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up from the eight comics that DC Comics had in the Top 25 in June 2025.
Numbers were up by a massive margin from two years ago, as DC Comics had six comics in the Top 25 in June 2024.
Numbers were also up by a massive margin from three years ago, as DC Comics had six comics in the Top 25 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had nine comics in the Top 25 in June 2022.
DC Comics continues to be on an incredible roll in the Top 25. This publisher has doubled its Top 25 presence compared to June 2023 and June 2024. DC Comics has gone from getting its ass kicked by Marvel Comics in this portion of the sales chart to now taking first place by a comfortable margin.
To no surprise, eight of DC Comics’ twelve issues in the Top 25 came from the Absolute Universe. Three came from Bruce Wayne’s Batman title. The remaining issue was Deadman #1.
The Absolute Universe is not merely successful. It is dominating the market. Outside of the Absolute Universe, Bruce Wayne remains DC Comics’ most reliable regular-universe sales weapon in the Top 25.
Still, eleven of DC Comics’ twelve issues were tied to either the Absolute Universe or Bruce Wayne. DC Comics is posting excellent numbers, but the foundation remains narrow.
Marvel Comics placed nine comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were down from the eleven comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down by a massive margin from the fifteen comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in June 2025.
Numbers were down by a massive margin from the fifteen comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in June 2024.
Numbers were down by a grotesque margin from the seventeen comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 25 in June 2023.

What a disaster. Marvel Comics has fallen from fifteen comics in the Top 25 in June 2025 to just nine comics in June 2026. That is a forty-percent collapse in one year.
The three-year comparison is even more humiliating. Marvel Comics had seventeen comics in the Top 25 in June 2023. Now, Marvel Comics has nine. The House of the Mouse has lost nearly half of its Top 25 strength in just three years. What an epic sales collapse and a complete dereliction of duty by Marvel Comics’ editorial staff.
Marvel Comics’ nine Top 25 issues came from Avengers Armageddon, Daredevil, Spider-Man, the Ultimate Universe, the X-Men franchise, the Doom mystery blind bag, and Jay and Silent Bob.
Marvel Comics actually beat DC Comics by a score of 7-5 between the numbers 11 and 25 spots. That shows Marvel Comics still has more depth once we move beyond the Top 10. Unfortunately, DC Comics’ overwhelming 7-2 victory in the Top 10 gave DC Comics the cumulative 12-9 win in the Top 25.
Marvel Comics still has broader franchise diversity than DC Comics. That is the good news. The bad news is that Marvel Comics’ individual franchises are not generating the same sales strength that they did from 2022 through 2025. Marvel Comics is throwing more different franchises onto the field and still losing.
Image Comics placed three comics in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were up from the two comics that Image Comics had in the Top 25 in May 2026.

This is exactly what Image Comics needs. The Hasbro franchise delivered two Top 25 comics, but Image Comics was not solely dependent on Hasbro. Battle Beast continues to give Image Comics another powerful franchise capable of consistently competing near the top of the sales chart.
Dynamite Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 25. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 25 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in June 2025.
Numbers were up from two years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in June 2024.
Numbers were up from three years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 25 in June 2022.
Ben 10 #2 dropped from the number 7 spot in May 2026 to the number 21 spot in June 2026. The expected second-issue drop arrived, but Ben 10 did not collapse. Dynamite Entertainment should be thrilled that Ben 10 remains a Top 25 seller.
The Battle for the Top 25 tells a crystal-clear story. DC Comics is surging and has built a commanding advantage through the Absolute Universe. Marvel Comics still possesses greater franchise diversity, but its historical decline has become impossible to ignore. Image Comics is quietly building an excellent one-two punch with Hasbro and the Invincible Universe.
The Battle for the Top 50
Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 26-50 range typically sell in the 49,000 to 30,000-unit range.
Marvel Comics took first place by placing twenty-five comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up slightly from the twenty-four comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 50 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down by a wide margin, as Marvel Comics had thirty-one comics in the Top 50 in June 2025.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had thirty-one comics in the Top 50 in June 2024.
Numbers were down by a wide margin from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had thirty-three comics in the Top 50 in June 2023.
Numbers were down from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had twenty-eight comics in the Top 50 in June 2022.
Marvel Comics finally found a portion of the sales chart where it could beat DC Comics. After losing the Battle for the Top 10 by a humiliating score of 7-2 and losing the Battle for the Top 25 by a score of 12-9, Marvel Comics stormed back between the numbers 26 and 50 spots.
Marvel Comics placed sixteen issues between the numbers 26 and 50 spots. DC Comics placed nine issues in that same range. That 16-9 beatdown allowed Marvel Comics to overcome DC Comics’ massive advantage at the top of the chart and claim a 25-21 victory in the cumulative Battle for the Top 50.
This remains Marvel Comics’ biggest strategic advantage over DC Comics. Six of Marvel Comics’ twenty-five Top 50 issues came from the X-Men franchise. Five came from the Spider-Man franchise. Three came from the Avengers franchise. Two came from the Ultimate Universe. Two came from the Fantastic Four franchise. The remaining seven came from Daredevil, Moon Knight, Punisher, Hulk, and various special issues.
That is excellent franchise diversity. Marvel Comics is not dependent on one alternate universe or one-character family to generate Top 50 sales. Unfortunately, that depth continues to weaken compared to prior years.
DC Comics placed twenty-one comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were up from the nineteen comics that DC Comics had in the Top 50 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up by a massive margin, as DC Comics had twelve comics in the Top 50 in June 2025.
Numbers were up by a massive margin from two years ago, as DC Comics had eleven comics in the Top 50 in June 2024.
Numbers were also up by a massive margin from three years ago, as DC Comics had eleven comics in the Top 50 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from four years ago, as DC Comics had fifteen comics in the Top 50 in June 2022.
DC Comics lost the Battle for the Top 50, but this was still a fantastic performance. DC Comics improved month-over-month and annihilated its numbers from June 2025, June 2024, June 2023, and June 2022. DC Comics has nearly doubled its Top 50 presence compared to June 2023 and June 2024. That is a stunning turnaround.
Eleven of DC Comics’ twenty-one issues in the Top 50 came from the Absolute Universe. Five came from the Batman franchise. One came from the Superman franchise. The remaining four issues came from Deadman, Lobo, Zatanna, and Justice League Unlimited.
The Absolute Universe and the Batman franchise remain the twin engines powering DC Comics’ sales resurgence, accounting for 76% of DC Comics’ issues in the Top 50. DC Comics still relies heavily on the Absolute Universe and the Batman franchise, but June 2026 offered more regular DCU support than we have seen in many prior months.
DC Comics’ strategy is working spectacularly right now. The Absolute Universe is white-hot, and DC Comics is aggressively feeding that demand. However, DC Comics still needs to turn more of its regular DCU franchises into consistent Top 50 sellers if this resurgence is going to remain sustainable over the long term.
Image Comics placed three comics in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were down by half from the six comics that Image Comics had in the Top 50 in May 2026.

The raw number is disappointing. Image Comics dropped from six Top 50 comics in May 2026 to just three in June 2026. Image Comics was also down compared to every historical June in our comparison range.
Dynamite Entertainment placed one comic in the Top 50. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 50 in May 2026.

This is another poor Top 50 showing for IDW Publishing. Without the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise producing elite results, IDW Publishing has no realistic path into the Top 50.
The Battle for the Top 50 illustrates the radically different positions of Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Marvel Comics still has the superior franchise depth and won this battle by four comics. However, Marvel Comics continues to decline compared to every historical benchmark.
DC Comics lost the battle of the Top 50, but its numbers are surging compared to prior years. Marvel Comics is winning even as it gets weaker. DC Comics is losing while getting stronger.
Marvel Comics may have won the Battle for the Top 50, but DC Comics remains the publisher with the stronger momentum.
The Battle for the Top 75
Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 51-75 range typically sell in the 29,000 to 25,000-unit range.
Marvel Comics took first place by placing thirty-five comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the thirty-five comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 75 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down by a wide margin, as Marvel Comics had forty-three comics in the Top 75 in June 2025.
Numbers were down by a massive margin from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-seven comics in the Top 75 in June 2024.
Numbers were down by a massive margin from three years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-eight comics in the Top 75 in June 2023.
Numbers were down by a wide margin from four years ago, as Marvel Comics had forty-five comics in the Top 75 in June 2022.
Marvel Comics has lost more than a quarter of its Top 75 strength since June 2023. This is not a minor fluctuation. This is a sustained erosion of Marvel Comics’ middle-of-the-chart depth.
DC Comics took second place by placing twenty-nine comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the twenty-seven comics that DC Comics had in the Top 75 in May 2026.

DC Comics continues to post fantastic historical growth. DC Comics has nearly doubled its Top 75 presence compared to June 2024. Going from fifteen comics to twenty-nine comics in just two years is an incredible turnaround.
Marvel Comics won the Battle for the Top 75, but DC Comics is the publisher with all the positive momentum. Marvel Comics is flat month-over-month and down compared to every historical June. DC Comics is up month-over-month and up compared to every historical June.
Image Comics took third place by placing eight comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were flat compared to the eight comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up from the five comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in June 2025.
Numbers were flat compared to the eight comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in June 2024.
Numbers were up from the six comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in June 2023.
Numbers were up from the seven comics that Image Comics had in the Top 75 in June 2022.
This was another good Top 75 performance for Image Comics. The publisher was flat compared to May 2026, matched its June 2024 result, and improved compared to June 2025, June 2023, and June 2022.
The Hasbro franchise remains Image Comics’ biggest weapon, but it is not doing all the work. Image Comics received support from the Invincible Universe, Universal Monsters, Ghost Machine, and creator-owned material. This is a much healthier strategy than relying entirely on Transformers and G.I. Joe.
Dynamite Entertainment placed two comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were up from the one comic that Dynamite Entertainment had in the Top 75 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were up, as Dynamite Entertainment had zero comics in the Top 75 in June 2025.

Gun Honey Doubles Down #1 debuted at the number 67 spot. That is a good result for Titan Comics. Getting any title into the Top 75 is an achievement for a publisher of Titan Comics’ size.
IDW Publishing placed zero comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the two comics that IDW Publishing had in the Top 75 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as IDW Publishing had two comics in the Top 75 in June 2025.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as IDW Publishing had two comics in the Top 75 in June 2024.
Numbers were down from three years ago, as IDW Publishing had two comics in the Top 75 in June 2023.
Numbers were flat from four years ago, as IDW Publishing had zero comics in the Top 75 in June 2022.
This was a terrible Top 75 performance for IDW Publishing.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remains IDW Publishing’s strongest franchise. However, even the flagship TMNT title could not crack the Top 75. Godzilla, Star Trek, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the rest of IDW Publishing’s licensed properties provided no help. While IDW Publishing has recognizable franchises, it simply does not have Top 75 sales strength.
BOOM! Studios placed zero comics in the Top 75. Month-over-month sales were down from the two comics that BOOM! Studios had in the Top 75 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down, as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 75 in June 2025.
Numbers were down from two years ago, as BOOM! Studios had one comic in the Top 75 in June 2024.
Numbers were flat from three years ago, as BOOM! Studios had zero comics in the Top 75 in June 2023.
Numbers were down by a massive margin from four years ago, as BOOM! Studios had four comics in the Top 75 in June 2022.
BOOM! Studios went from placing Fall of the House of Slaughter #1 at the number 66 spot and Something Is Killing the Children #47 at the number 71 spot in May to having zero comics in the Top 75 in June. That franchise collapsed in June. Something Is Killing the Children fell outside the Top 100, while Fall of the House of Slaughter #2 plummeted to the number 142 spot.
The Battle for the Top 100
Based on historical numbers from the Comichron as well as projections through April 2022, the titles in the numbers 76-100 range typically sell in the 24,000 to 18,000-unit range.
Marvel Comics took first place by placing forty-seven comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were up from the forty-three comics that Marvel Comics had in the Top 100 in May 2026.
Year-over-year numbers were down by a wide margin, as Marvel Comics had fifty-eight comics in the Top 100 in June 2025.
Numbers were down by a massive margin from two years ago, as Marvel Comics had sixty-one comics in the Top 100 in June 2024.

Marvel Comics won the Battle for the Top 100, but the historical trajectories of these two publishers could not be more different. Marvel Comics fell from sixty-one comics in June 2024 to forty-seven comics in June 2026. DC Comics surged from eighteen comics to thirty-eight comics during that same period.
Image Comics took third place by placing eleven comics in the Top 100. Month-over-month sales were down from the thirteen comics that Image Comics had in the Top 100 in May 2026.

The Battle for the Top 100 tells the same story as the rest of the sales chart. Marvel Comics still has enough volume and franchise diversity to take first place. However, Marvel Comics’ historical decline is grotesque and impossible to ignore.
DC Comics finished second, but the publisher’s growth compared to 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022 is phenomenal. Image Comics remains a healthy third-place publisher despite cooling from its 2024 peak.
The Joshua Williamson Award For The Writer With The Most Titles In The Top 50

Pornsak Pichetshote had two issues from the same title with Absolute Green Arrow #2 at the number 4 spot and Absolute Green Arrow #1 at the number 13 spot.

Camp continues to live a charmed life. Camp has the luxury of writing comics in both the Absolute Universe and the Ultimate Universe. Those are two of the hottest franchises in the American comic book market. However, Camp is also taking full advantage of that opportunity by consistently placing multiple different titles near the top of the sales chart.
Camp also becomes the first writer to win the Joshua Williamson Award in back-to-back months in 2026. Camp won the May 2026 award with four different titles in the Top 50 and followed that performance by placing three different titles in the Top 26 in June 2026.

That has now been the result for three consecutive months. The Reign of the Superboys had one Top 50 comic in April, one in May, and one in June. It has not generated a single Top 25 comic during that stretch.
The Reign of the Superboys is doing just enough to keep the Superman franchise from sinking. It is not doing enough to turn Superman into one of DC Comics’ dominant sales engines.

Avengers Armageddon #1 benefited from the usual number 1 issue curiosity, an oversized event presentation, a wide cast of recognizable Marvel characters, and aggressive promotion. Therefore, Avengers Armageddon #2 will provide the first meaningful retention test.

M.A.S.K. #1 debuted at the number 6 spot. That is an outstanding debut. M.A.S.K. immediately gave the Hasbro franchise another elite seller alongside Transformers. Personally, I loved M.A.S.K. toys when I was a kid. They were so damn cool.
It is interesting to note that Image’s version of M.A.S.K. does not follow the original toy line, the original mini-comics, the original cartoon, or the DC Comics comic book from 1985 to 1987, where Matt Trakker is white.
Instead, Image’s M.A.S.K. follows the 2016 IDW version of Matt Trakker where he was made a black character. It is not what I would have done. I see no benefit in continuing anything from when IDW was badly bungling all of the Hasbro properties that led them to lose those valuable licenses.
At any rate, Skybound promoted M.A.S.K. #1 as the beginning of the next phase of the Energon Universe, and readers responded in a big way. Dan Watters and Pye Parr took a Hasbro property that has been largely dormant in the comic book market and launched it directly into the Top 10.
That is impressive. Plenty of licensed titles can deliver a respectable debut based on nostalgia. Very few can muscle their way past Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and the X-Men and take the number 6 spot.
Of course, the real test arrives with M.A.S.K. #2.
The debut benefited from twelve open order covers, two reprint covers, five incentive covers, and seven retailer exclusive covers. My favorite cover was the Kevin Toliabo cover. This issue also benefited from an Energon Universe anniversary promotion and a mystery blind-bag program. Therefore, some of this ranking was clearly driven by the aggressive launch strategy.
That does not diminish the debut. It simply means that issue #2 will reveal how much of this demand came from actual readers and how much came from collectors and speculators chasing the launch gimmicks.
Transformers #33 held steady at the number 16 spot compared to the number 16 spot that Transformers #32 took in May 2026.
That is an excellent result. Transformers returned to the Top 10 in April 2026 before falling to the number 16 spot in May. Instead of continuing to decline, Transformers stabilized and retained its Top 25 position.
Transformers remains the dependable foundation of the Hasbro franchise. Robert Kirkman taking over this title has not produced a massive sales explosion, but it has kept Transformers firmly planted near the top of the chart. The title is no longer the unstoppable Top 5 monster that it was during 2024, but it continues to be a strong and consistent Top 25 seller.
G.I. JOE #23 climbed from the number 54 spot to the number 51 spot. That is technically an improvement, but missing the Top 50 by one spot is still disappointing, as this title used to be a reliable Top 50 seller.
Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Edition #1 debuted at the number 60 spot. This was a strong result for repackaged material from a forty-year-old animated movie. It demonstrates the enduring nostalgia power of the Transformers brand.
Void Rivals #31 climbed from the number 111 spot to the number 92 spot. That is an encouraging nineteen-spot improvement and moves the title back into the Top 100. Void Rivals desperately needed this rebound. The title had fallen into the Dead Titles Walking category in May 2026.
However, nobody should pretend that the number 92 spot is good for a title that launched the Energon Universe by debuting at the number 2 spot in June 2023. Void Rivals has suffered an incredible loss of reader interest over the past three years.
Robert Kirkman remains on the title, and Void Rivals is still an important connective piece of the Energon Universe. Yet, the sales chart shows that readers care far more about the recognizable Hasbro properties than the original characters surrounding them.
G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #329 plummeted from the number 116 spot to the number 153 spot. That is a brutal thirty-seven-spot decline.
Larry Hama’s G.I. JOE title has a loyal audience, but that audience is small. The title had been hovering near the Dead Titles Walking line. It is now buried deep inside that category.
G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #31 Hama Files Edition went unranked. This was another reprint of a classic Larry Hama issue with new behind-the-scenes material.

She Spawn #2 plummeted from the number 27 spot to the number 138 spot. Holy crap! That is a brutal 111-spot collapse between the debut issue and the second issue. Talk about a complete rejection by the market.
She Spawn #1 gave the franchise an encouraging Top 50 debut in May 2026. Evidently, that ranking came from curiosity, plenty of variant covers, and the usual collector interest surrounding a debut issue. The actual ongoing reader demand was not there.
This does not surprise me. Gail Simone has never had any sustained sales success outside of being carried by the iconic Uncanny X-Men brand name. So, I figured that this sales crash was going to happen with She Spawn #2.
This five-issue mini-series is going to struggle to remain inside the Top 200 through the final issue.
Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn #15 remained unranked after issue #14 was also unranked in March 2026. Issue #14 had fallen out of the Top 200 after issue #13 took the number 178 spot in February 2026.
Gunslinger Spawn #55 became unranked after Gunslinger Spawn #54 barely made the May 2026 chart at the number 179 spot.
This title used to be one of the Spawn Universe’s stronger spin-offs. Gunslinger Spawn #21 made the Top 50 in June 2023.
King Spawn #56 remained unranked for the second consecutive month.
Rat City #25 remained unranked after Rat City #24 was unranked in April 2026. Rat City has now been unranked for thirteen consecutive months.

Rook Exodus #10 fell from the number 54 spot to the number 74 spot. That is a twenty-spot decline from where Rook Exodus #9 ranked in December 2025.
Rook Exodus remains the strongest Ghost Machine title in the sales rankings. It was the only Ghost Machine comic to make the Top 100 in June 2026. However, the number 74 spot is still a disappointing result for a title that regularly sold in the 40-60 range during 2024.
The six-month gap between Rook Exodus #9 and Rook Exodus #10 likely did not help. Readers can lose interest when a popular title disappears from shelves for half a year.
Redcoat #18 plummeted from the number 90 spot to the number 154 spot. Redcoat #17 returning to the Top 100 in April looked like an encouraging rebound. Redcoat #18 immediately erased that optimism and buried the title deep inside the Dead Titles Walking category. I expected more from a comic book with the all-star creative team of Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch.
Trillion Dollar Kid #1 debuted at the number 158 spot. Holy crap. That is an absolutely horrendous debut for a brand-new Ghost Machine title from Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi. Personally, I like Johns, and I love Tomasi. So, I was hoping this title would perform better than this disappointing debut number.
A number 158 debut means this two-issue mini-series was dead on arrival. There is virtually nowhere for Trillion Dollar Kid to go with issue #2 except out of the Top 200 entirely.
Ghost Machine attempted to launch Trillion Dollar Kid as part of its expanding interconnected universe. However, the number 158 spot proves that the Ghost Machine brand name possesses almost no sales power by itself. Readers may show up for Rook Exodus or Geiger, but they are not automatically following Ghost Machine into every new property.
Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook #3 remained unranked after Ghost Machine: The Official Guidebook #2 was also unranked in May 2026.
The problem is that Ghost Machine is publishing five issues of this guidebook. The first three issues have demonstrated little marketplace demand. This is universe-building content being released for an audience that the sales chart suggests barely exists.
Ghost Machine launched with massive names, aggressive promotion, interconnected universes, and some of the best artists in the industry. Two years later, the sales results are ice-cold.
Ghost Machine needs fewer titles, more consistent release schedules, and a genuine breakout storyline capable of giving the entire line renewed momentum. Right now, the machine is sputtering.

Godzilla Infinity Roar #5 fell from the number 88 spot to the number 102 spot. This was a disappointing final ranking for this five-issue mini-series.
Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Presents: Godzilla’s The Odyssey debuted at the number 135 spot. This was a terrible debut for a new Godzilla one-shot. The $7.99 price likely did not help.
The previous Monsterpiece Theatre one-shot, Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Presents: Romeo & Juliet & Godzilla, debuted at the number 96 spot in April 2026. Therefore, Godzilla’s The Odyssey performed thirty-nine spots worse than the prior installment.
Frank Tieri and Ilias Kyriazis placed Godzilla inside Homer’s epic, while the issue also contained the second chapter of Tom Scioli’s Godzilla vs. Robin Hood backup.I appreciate the complete insanity of the concept. Godzilla stomping through classic literature is the kind of bizarre idea that comic books should embrace.
The decline from Romeo & Juliet & Godzilla at the number 96 spot to Godzilla’s The Odyssey at the number 135 spot also suggests that the novelty of the Monsterpiece Theatre concept is already wearing thin.
IDW Publishing has now tried nearly everything with the Godzilla license. IDW has launched a connected Kai-Sei Era. It has produced Godzilla vs. America one-shots. It has crossed Godzilla over with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It has sent Godzilla into space. It has placed Godzilla into classic literature.
None of it has turned Godzilla into a consistent Top 50 franchise. That is an incredible failure.
Godzilla is not an obscure license that requires significant consumer education. This is a globally recognizable monster with successful movies, television shows, toys, video games, and merchandise. Yet, IDW Publishing routinely produces Godzilla comics that debut near the bottom of the Top 200 or go unranked entirely.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #19 began a new story following the conclusion of the Ujigami saga. Gene Luen Yang remained as writer, while Fero Pe took over the artwork. IDW Publishing supported the issue with four open-order covers and three incentive covers. None of that prevented the title from falling deeper into the Top 100.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder #9 became unranked after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder #8 took the number 166 spot in May 2026. That is the predictable conclusion to this title’s sales collapse.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures #38 remained unranked after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures #37 was also unranked in May 2026.
This title has no meaningful direct-market sales presence. IDW Publishing continues releasing Saturday Morning Adventures because the classic animated series has a recognizable brand and a dedicated nostalgic audience. However, that audience is clearly too small to push the ongoing comic into the Top 200.
TMNT: Journeys #10 remained unranked after TMNT: Journeys #9 was also unranked in May 2026. Issue #10 shipped on June 3, 2026.
Journeys has been a complete non-factor since its launch. IDW Publishing is mining the franchise’s history for dedicated longtime readers, but the title has failed to reach a broad direct-market audience.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license continues to underperform. The historical comparisons make IDW Publishing’s failure even more obvious. In June 2023, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Street Fighter #1 took the number 34 spot, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin—The Lost Years #4 took the number 46 spot.
In June 2024, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II—Re-Evolution #2 took the number 23 spot, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Alpha #1 took the number 41 spot.
In June 2025, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #9 took the number 40 spot, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto #4 took the number 50 spot.
In June 2026, the franchise’s best-selling comic took the number 87 spot.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise still possesses substantial sales power when IDW Publishing delivers a compelling concept. The problem is that IDW Publishing keeps flooding the market with satellite titles that consumers ignore.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remains the only franchise keeping IDW Publishing remotely relevant in the direct market. IDW Publishing is doing an increasingly terrible job of protecting that lifeline.
Star Trek Franchise

Star Trek is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary in 2026, and IDW Publishing cannot get one new Star Trek comic into the Top 200. IDW announced multiple anniversary initiatives and new series for 2026, but none of that celebration translated into consumer interest in the June sales chart.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy—Lost Contact #3 remained unranked for the third consecutive month.
IDW Publishing timed the release of Lost Contact to coincide with the Starfleet Academy television series. The comic featured characters and concepts connected to the Paramount+ program and received multiple covers, including an incentive cover. None of that mattered. There has been zero consumer interest in this title.
Star Trek: The Last Starship #8 was unranked for the eighth consecutive issue. IDW Publishing launched The Last Starship with Captain James T. Kirk, the Borg, and a new version of the Star Trek universe. However, IDW Publishing’s editorial made the boneheaded move of hiring Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly to write this title. Everything from Lanzing and Kelly immediately dies in the sales rankings. Moves like this are why I have no confidence in IDW Publishing’s editorial staff.
The Last Starship #5 was unranked in February 2026. Issue #6 was unranked in March. Issue #7 was unranked in May. Issue #8 was unranked in June.
Star Trek remains a dead property. IDW Publishing appears ready to attempt another reset with a new Star Trek #1 scheduled for September 2026 from Christopher Cantwell and Dennis Menheere. Perhaps that relaunch will finally generate some curiosity. However, the franchise’s recent history gives us no reason for optimism.

The Star Wars franchise continues to be a graveyard of failure in the direct market. Marvel Comics released four Star Wars comics in June 2026. None made the Top 50. None even made the Top 75. Only one barely managed to remain inside the Top 100.
This is pathetic for what was once one of the most powerful entertainment franchises on the planet.
Star Wars: Shadow of Maul #4 fell from the number 59 spot to the number 91 spot. That is brutal. Shadow of Maul has steadily collapsed with each issue. Star Wars: Shadow of Maul #1 debuted at the number 24 spot in March 2026. Now, issue #4 has fallen to the number 91 spot.
This is a steady rejection of the title as the mini-series progresses. Each month, more readers leave and do not come back. We shall see if this five-issue mini-series can conclude in the Top 100 next month.
Darth Maul is one of the most popular characters created during the prequel era. Marvel Comics also launched this five-issue mini-series near the debut of the Maul: Shadow Lord animated series. Even with that promotional advantage, Shadow of Maul could not maintain a Top 50 position beyond its second issue.
Star Wars: Rogue One – Jyn Erso #1 debuted at the number 106 spot. That is an embarrassing debut for a Marvel Comics one-shot starring the main character from Rogue One.
Star Wars: Rogue One – Saw Gerrera #1 debuted at the number 182 spot. Holy crap. That is a catastrophic debut.
The Rogue One character one-shots have fallen from Cassian Andor at the number 65 spot to Jyn Erso at the number 106 spot and then to Saw Gerrera at the number 182 spot.
The downward trajectory could not be clearer. The Rogue One anniversary celebration quickly collapsed. Consumer interest in these Rogue One anniversary one-shots has evaporated with each installment. Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm completely failed to generate meaningful direct-market excitement for the tenth anniversary of Rogue One.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire #3 fell from the number 157 spot to the number 191 spot. This five-issue mini-series is a massive sales failure.
Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire was designed to generate interest in Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge theme-park setting by using Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and other recognizable original-trilogy characters. The concept still failed spectacularly.
The problem is that so much damage has been done to the Star Wars franchise that even trying to bring back popular characters does not lead to sales success. Once fans are aggressively insulted and run off, it is tough to induce them to come back. At some point, an abusive relationship means the consumer never returns.
The historical decline of the Star Wars franchise is stunning. In June 2022, Star Wars had one comic in the Top 25 and three comics in the Top 50. In June 2023, the franchise improved to one comic in the Top 25 and five comics in the Top 50. Star Wars #35 took the number 14 spot that month.
The franchise then collapsed to zero Top 50 comics in June 2024, June 2025, and June 2026.
Marvel Comics has one of the most recognizable licenses in entertainment history and is producing nothing but Dead Titles Walking. However, I do not blame Marvel Comics. Most of the reason that the Star Wars franchise is dead is the malpractice over the years from Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm. Marvel Comics is just paying the price for that prior malpractice.

As always, let’s begin with the main man himself: Peter Parker.
Amazing Spider-Man #30 climbed from the number 14 spot to the number 12 spot. Amazing Spider-Man #31 then dipped from the number 12 spot to the number 14 spot. That is essentially holding steady. This is additional proof that strong-selling popular titles can easily support two issues a month.
Amazing Spider-Man #32 then fell from the number 14 spot to the number 32 spot. This is understandable since this was the third Amazing Spider-Man issue shipped during the same sales month.
Placing three issues of the same title in the Top 32 is an impressive performance. Peter Parker may have missed the Top 10, but Amazing Spider-Man remains Marvel Comics’ most dependable ongoing title.
Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1 debuted at the number 25 spot. That is a solid debut. But I expected a higher debut number given the creative team on this title. This five-issue mini-series brought together Jonathan Hickman and Adam Kubert for a story starring Peter Parker, Frank Castle, and Bruce Banner. Those are massive creators and commercially powerful characters. Given the impressive talent on this title and the cast of characters, I expected this issue to score a much higher debut number. We shall see if issue #2 is able to hold ground or if it suffers a sales drop.
Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #2 plummeted from the number 21 spot to the number 79 spot. Off. This is a brutal collapse. Readers were not that interested in what Dan Slott had to offer with the first issue of this five-issue mini-series. I thought that this mini-series had a shot of concluding in the Top 75. Now? This title will be lucky to conclude in the Top 100. It appears that Slott’s title is destined to become a Dead Title Walking.
Let’s check out the knock-off Spider-Men.
Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity #3 fell from the number 122 spot to the number 147 spot. This five-issue mini-series is completely dead. Keep in mind that this mini-series debuted at the number 46 spot. It has briskly shed readers.
None of this is surprising. Spider-Versity features Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Silk, Araña, Spider-Boy, and Spider-Girl. Only a Marvel Comics editor would think there was an audience for this roster of characters. This is also a continued failure by Marvel Comics to hire non-comic book writers like Jordan Morris to write a mainstream superhero comic book. It is all so predictable.
Let’s slide over to the Venomverse.
Venom #259 fell from the number 58 spot to the number 93 spot. Ouch. Death Spiral gave Venom a temporary boost. The moment the event ended, the title began falling down the chart again.
Keep in mind that Venom #258 already dropped from the number 27 spot to the number 58 spot in May. Marvel Comics continues to promote the new VenoMJ status quo, but consumers are not responding with meaningful sales strength. Venom remains a recognizable brand, yet the ongoing title is now operating near the bottom of the Top 100.
Let’s wrap up with the lady of the Spider-Man franchise.
Black Cat #11 climbed from the number 45 spot to the number 29 spot. Wow. That is an excellent sixteen-spot improvement. Black Cat continues to be one of Marvel Comics’ most pleasant sales surprises. This title has quietly displayed better stability than numerous comics starring more important Marvel characters, supposedly.
The Punisher guest appearance probably helped Black Cat #11. The Punisher was prominently featured on the cover of this issue. We shall see for sure with what issue #12 does in the sales rankings.
The Spider-Man franchise delivered a mixed June 2026. Amazing Spider-Man remained strong and placed three issues in the Top 32. Black Cat delivered an excellent jump into the Top 30. Spider-Man: Long Way Home had a solid Top 25 debut. Everything else was ugly.
The most important takeaway is that Peter Parker continues to do nearly all the heavy lifting. All three Spider-Man franchise comics in the Top 25 starred Peter Parker. Four of the five comics in the Top 50 starred Peter Parker. Black Cat was the sole non-Peter title capable of joining him in the Top 50.
Marvel Comics keeps flooding the franchise with Venom characters, Spider-Verse characters, mantle swaps, alternate Spider-Men, and nostalgia mini-series. Consumers keep telling Marvel Comics that they primarily want Peter Parker.

Let’s kick things off with the team titles.
Uncanny X-Men #29 fell from the number 18 spot to the number 24 spot. Uncanny X-Men #30 then fell from the number 24 spot to the number 39 spot. The crown jewel of the franchise is now fighting simply to remain inside the Top 25 and Top 50.
X-Men #31 climbed from the number 60 spot to the number 37 spot. X-Men #32 then fell from the number 37 spot to the number 57 spot.
X-Men continues to bounce between the Top 25, Top 50, and Top 75 without ever building sustained momentum. This makes it difficult to reliably handicap this title.
Marvel Comics should be able to place both X-Men and Uncanny X-Men comfortably inside the Top 25 every month. Instead, only one of the four new issues from these two flagship titles made the Top 25 in June 2026.
X-Men United #4 climbed from the number 52 spot to the number 46 spot. X-Men United #5 then fell from the number 46 spot to the number 68 spot. These sales numbers continue to be disappointing for a comic that debuted at the number 11 spot in March 2026 and was clearly positioned as an important new team book.
X-Men ’97: Season Two #1 debuted at the number 47 spot. That is a mediocre debut for a brand-new X-Men comic tied to a popular animated brand. The normal second-issue decline could immediately knock this title outside the Top 75.
What If…? Uncanny X-Men #1 debuted at the number 48 spot. This was another average debut.
X-Men: Outback #1 debuted at the number 84 spot. Yikes. That is a terrible debut. But, this is no surprise to me. Steve Orlando is the writer, and he has never had a hint of sales success for Marvel Comics. I am unsure why the editorial staff keeps hiring him. X-Men: Outback should be in the Dead Titles Walking category with the next issue.
The roster of characters in X-Men: Outback is quite nice. So, I do not think that was the problem. And the story takes place during a time when the X-Men were utter sales monsters and insanely popular. This is more just about Orlando once again failing to attract readers to a title.
X-Men of Apocalypse #4 climbed from the number 81 spot for issue #3 to the number 72 spot. That is an unexpected and nice little rebound. But this is still lower than I anticipated for a Jeph Loeb X-Men mini-series built around the Age of Apocalypse.
Inglorious X-Force #6 fell from the number 102 spot to the number 132 spot. Stick a fork in it, because this title is completely dead.
Let’s check out the one duo title.
Magik & Colossus #5 plummeted from the number 48 spot to the number 90 spot. Brutal. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series has concluded. Magik and Colossus are two popular X-Men characters. But, Ashley Allen was unable to get readers excited about this title.
Let’s hop over to the dudes of the X-Men franchise.
Bishop #1 debuted at the number 55 spot. Woof. That is ugly. Bishop is a recognizable X-Man with decades of history and appearances across comics, animation, movies, toys, and video games. A new Bishop comic should not debut outside the Top 50. What an utter embarrassment for Marvel Comics.
Of course, this was no surprise given that this five-issue mini-series is written by Saladin Ahmed. Ahmed has always struggled to have any sales success for Marvel Comics. I am unsure why Marvel Comics editorial thought Ahmed was a smart hire for this Bishop comic.
Maybe Bishop #2 can mount a rally in the sales rankings. However, I fear this title is headed for the Dead Titles Walking category in short order.
Cyclops #5 fell from the number 39 spot to the number 63 spot. Cyclops displayed surprising stability through issue #4. That run ended in June. With this issue, this five-issue mini-series has concluded. While this title ended on a big down note, I have to admit that Cyclops performed much better than I expected!
Wolverine #21 fell from the number 50 spot to the number 81 spot. This is unacceptable. It is bad enough for a Wolverine title is struggling to stay in the Top 50. But to fall outside of the Top 75? That should never happen.
Wolverine #22 then rebounded from the number 81 spot to the number 65 spot. The rebound is welcome, but this remains an embarrassing performance for Wolverine’s flagship solo title. Logan should be a dependable Top 25 seller. Instead, both June issues sold outside the Top 50, and one fell outside the Top 75.
At some point, Marvel Comics is going to have to replace Saladin Ahmed in the writer position in order to get readers excited about Wolverine and return this character back to where he belongs in the sales rankings.
Wade Wilson: Deadpool #5 fell from the number 55 spot to the number 59 spot. Wade Wilson: Deadpool #6 then plummeted from the number 59 spot to the number 97 spot. Deadpool is another massively popular character whose ongoing comic is failing to display matching sales power.
Deadpool debuted at the number 13 spot. Six issues later, it is clinging to the final few positions inside the Top 100. This should not be acceptable for Marvel Comics.
Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the X-Men franchise.
Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant #5 fell from the number 74 spot to the number 112 spot. Gross. This five-issue mini-series ends with a thud as it concludes in the Dead Titles Walking category. I have a suggestion for Marvel’s editorial staff. How about we let someone other than Murewa Ayodele get a chance to write a Storm comic book?
Generation X-23 #5 fell from the number 139 spot to the number 171 spot. Nobody cares about this title. This was all so predictable once we saw that Jody Houser was going to be writing this title. Based on Houser’s history of epic sales failure, there is literally no reason why any editor with half a brain should have hired Houser.
Generation X-23 was already buried deep inside the Dead Titles Walking category. Issue #5 moved even closer to falling out of the Top 200 entirely. Marvel Comics unveiled Generation X-23 as an ongoing title when it was first announced. We shall see how many issues this title ends up getting before being canceled.
Moonstar #4 plummeted from the number 125 spot to the number 195 spot. Holy crap. Ashley Allen’s five-issue mini-series continues to crater in the sales ranking in spectacular fashion. This mini-series may not even be able to conclude ranked in the Top 200. Allen continues to struggle to get readers interested in what she has to offer.
The X-Men franchise pushed out twenty-two issues in June 2026. Only one comic made the Top 25. Only six comics made the Top 50. Ten of the twenty-one new issues sold outside the Top 75. Six sold inside the Dead Titles Walking category.
Uncanny X-Men remains the only title capable of consistently threatening the Top 25. X-Men continues to bounce around the Top 50. Nearly everything else is either declining rapidly, debuting poorly, or already buried inside the Dead Titles Walking category.

Let’s kick things off with the big team title.
Avengers Armageddon #1 debuted at the number 3 spot. That is a fantastic debut and easily the best Avengers franchise result of 2026. Avengers Armageddon #1 gave the franchise its first Top 10 comic since Captain America #2 took the number 8 spot in August 2025.
Chip Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti delivered precisely the type of sales performance that Marvel Comics needed from an Avengers event. Yes, Avengers Armageddon #1 benefited from the usual debut-issue curiosity, an event-level premise, a large cast of popular characters, and aggressive promotion. Issue #2 will tell us whether Marvel Comics created an actual event hit or merely generated a strong launch.
Let’s move over to the dudes of the Avengers franchise.
Captain America #12 fell from the number 24 spot to the number 38 spot. That is disappointing, especially since this issue was an event tie-in which should have provided a sales boost. Instead, Captain America lost ground.
Iron Man #6 fell slightly from the number 37 spot to the number 40 spot. That is essentially holding steady and keeps Mr. Emma Frost inside the Top 50. Joshua Williamson has stabilized Iron Man inside the numbers 25-50 range. Considering the damage that Marvel Comics has inflicted on Tony Stark’s brand over the years, simply maintaining a dependable Top 50 position is meaningful progress.
However, Iron Man #7 then plummeted from the number 40 spot to the number 76 spot. Again, shipping two issues in the same sales month is always going to lead to a sales decline for any title not starring Peter Parker or Bruce Wayne. There is no need to panic over this. I am sure Iron Man will be back in the Top 50 with the next issue.
Infernal Hulk #8 climbed from the number 61 spot to the number 44 spot. That is a rebound that moves the title back inside the Top 50. Having said that, Infernal Hulk has been inconsistent throughout its run. The title will climb into the Top 50 and then immediately fall back outside it. We shall see what happens next month.
Mortal Thor #11 fell from the number 56 spot to the number 64 spot. Mortal Thor #12 then plummeted from the number 64 spot to the number 122 spot. Yikes! Again, I expect a drop in sales when the same title ships two issues in the same sales month. But I was not expecting this massive of a drop between the two issues!
What If…? Thor #1 debuted at the number 116 spot. That is a terrible debut.
Civil War Unmasked #2 took the number 137 spot. The original Civil War was one of Marvel Comics’ biggest events of the 2000s. Twenty years later, consumers have shown almost no interest in this retrospective mini-series. This is another example of Marvel Comics assuming that a recognizable event logo will automatically create sales.
Sentry #4 fell from the number 140 spot to the number 156 spot. This four-issue mini-series concluded deep inside the Dead Titles Walking category. This title was a sales failure.
Wonder Man #4 fell from the number 191 spot and out of the Top 200 to go unranked. This was completely predictable. Marvel Comics attempted to capitalize on whatever attention the Wonder Man television series might generate. The direct-market audience did not care. This five-issue mini-series looks like it is going to conclude outside of the Top 200 and unranked.
Let’s wrap up with the sole lady of the Avengers franchise.
Captain Marvel Dark Past #3 fell from the number 117 spot to the number 145 spot. Carol Danvers and the Dead Titles Walking category are like peanut butter and jelly. They are destined to be together. Captain Marvel Dark Past is another sales failure in a long line of sales failures for Carol Danvers.
Marvel Comics has spent years insisting that Captain Marvel is one of its premier characters. The sales rankings continually disagree. Changing creative teams, restarting titles, tying Carol to movies, and surrounding her with recognizable guest stars have not created a dependable comic book audience.

Fantastic Four is no longer the powerful Top 25 seller it was in June 2023, when Fantastic Four #8 took the number 20 spot. However, it remains a reliable presence in the numbers 25-50 range.
Fantastic Four #13 then plummeted from the number 30 spot to the number 70 spot. Again, this is not that unusual for a title that ships two issues in the same sales month. Only elite titles like Batman and Amazing Spider-Man are capable of experiencing large drops in the rankings for the second issue.
Let’s move over to Doctor Doom.
616 Day Marvel Mystery Blind Bag Featuring Doom debuted at the number 20 spot. The $14.99 product also took the number 4 spot in the rankings by dollars. That is an excellent commercial result for Marvel Comics.
The mystery blind bag gave consumers a sealed package containing Doom-related material without revealing the exact contents before purchase. The format turned a comic book product into a collectible gamble and successfully pushed it into the Top 25.
Marvel Comics will undoubtedly view this as proof that blind bags can become a valuable part of its publishing strategy. Yay? At any rate, this result tells us more about collector behavior than it does about the health of the Fantastic Four franchise.
The mystery bag does not represent thousands of readers committing to an ongoing Fantastic Four or Doctor Doom story. It represents consumers responding to scarcity, secrecy, variant possibilities, and the gambling aspect of a blind purchase.
Doomquest #2 fell from the number 35 spot to the number 45 spot. That is a respectable retention result. Doomquest #1 had a merely decent debut rather than a spectacular one. Challenges of Doom: Mr. Fantastic #1 debuted at the number 115 spot. This was an unimpressive debut for this one-shot issue.
Fantastic Four: First Foes—Shalla-Bal #1 went unranked. What an epic sales embarrassment for this one-shot issue. Literally nobody cares about Shalla-Bal starring as a gender-swapped Silver Surfer from a Fantastic Four movie that completely bombed in the theaters. This is another case of Marvel Comics editorial publishing a comic for an imaginary audience.

Ultimate Endgame should have been an elite Top 10 event from beginning to end. This was the payoff to two years of storytelling across multiple popular titles. Marvel Comics had spent months building toward the Maker’s return and the final battle for this universe.
Ultimate Universe Finale #1 debuted at the number 26 spot. Ouch. Marvel Comics brought together the creative teams from the Ultimate line for one final goodbye following the events of Ultimate Endgame #5. This was explicitly promoted as the curtain closing on the new Ultimate Universe. The farewell issue still could not make the Top 25.
Ultimate Impact Reborn #2 plummeted from the number 25 spot to the number 94 spot. Holy crap. That is a complete rejection of the series after the debut issue.
Ultimate Impact Reborn moved the Ultimate Universe’s legacy into the regular Marvel Universe. Miles Morales returned with the Ultimate Origin Boxes, which could create new heroes and villains across Earth-616. Issue #2 introduced the race-swapped Wonder Man matching the Disney+ version of Wonder Man.
Readers were curious enough to push issue #1 into the Top 25. However, readers were not interested enough to return for issue #2. This five-issue mini-series looks to be a dead title walking with the next issue.
The original Ultimate line succeeded because readers cared about those specific characters, creative teams, and stories. Marvel Comics cannot simply move some Ultimate concepts into Earth-616, place the word “Ultimate” on the cover, and expect the audience to follow automatically.

However, once we move away from Batman himself, the franchise quickly falls apart. Barbara Gordon: Breakout and Batwoman barely made the Top 50. Every other new Batman franchise comic sold outside the Top 50.
That is a far cry from June 2022, when the Batman franchise placed ten comics in the Top 50.
Let’s kick things off with the sun and the moon of the DCU: Bruce Wayne.
Batman #10 fell from the number 3 spot for Batman #9 to the number 5 spot. Batman #11 then fell from the number 5 spot to the number 11 spot. Placing two new issues of Batman inside the Top 11 during the same sales period is an excellent accomplishment.
Batman does not need a flashy big-name writer, an Absolute Universe gimmick, an event crossover, or a new number 1 issue to generate elite sales. Bruce Wayne simply sells.
Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham #4 fell from the number 40 spot to the number 52 spot. This four-issue mini-series ended up concluding just outside the Top 50.
The ranking is respectable considering the absurd delay between issues. Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham #3 shipped in December 2024, meaning readers waited roughly a year and a half for the final chapter. That lengthy delay likely damaged the title’s sales momentum.
Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #52 fell from the number 70 spot to the number 75 spot. The number 75 spot is still disappointing for a title starring DC Comics’ two biggest characters. Batman/Superman: World’s Finest was once one of DC Comics’ most dependable Top 25 and Top 50 titles. The comic has now settled near the bottom of the Top 75.
Detective Comics #1110 fell from the number 76 spot to the number 80 spot. That is essentially holding steady. Unfortunately, holding steady at the number 80 spot is not good news. Detective Comics is one of DC Comics’ flagship titles and stars Bruce Wayne. It should be a consistent Top 50 seller. Instead, the title is fighting to remain inside the Top 100.
Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #4 plummeted from the number 79 spot to the number 140 spot. That is a grotesque sales decline. This four-issue Black Label mini-series concluded deep inside the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s move over to the lone Bat-boy.
Nightwing #139 fell from the number 69 spot to the number 85 spot. Nightwing continues to move in the wrong direction. Dick Grayson should be one of DC Comics’ strongest secondary characters. Nightwing has spent much of 2026 bouncing around the numbers 60-90 range. The title occasionally shows signs of life before falling again with the next issue.
Let’s wrap things up with the ladies of the Batman franchise.
Barbara Gordon: Breakout #2 fell from the number 12 spot to the number 33 spot. I am not surprised that this title quickly crashed out of the Top 25 given that Mariko Tamaki is the writer. Tamaki is not a mainstream superhero comic writer and has never had any sales success. We shall see if this six-issue limited series can remain in the Top 50 next month.
Batwoman #4 fell from the number 43 spot to the number 49 spot. This title is clinging to the Top 50. But, honestly, this is better than I had anticipated this title would do with its fourth issue. Especially given that Batwoman has rarely displayed dependable sales strength.
Poison Ivy #45 fell from the number 85 spot to the number 95 spot. Poison Ivy #46 then plummeted from the number 95 spot to the number 173 spot. This title continues to struggle to remain outside of the Dead Titles Walking category.
Batgirl #20 fell from the number 82 spot to the number 126 spot. Batgirl #21 then plummeted from the number 126 spot to the number 183 spot. This is another title that struggles to escape the vortex of the Dead Titles Walking category.
Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes #6 fell from the number 137 spot for issue #5 to the number 161 spot. This six-issue mini-series concluded deep inside the Dead Titles Walking category.
Pairing Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy should be an easy commercial concept. Both characters have large fan bases and extensive exposure outside comic books. But DC Comics editorial hired Erica Henderson as the writer for some mysterious reason. Henderson is not a mainstream superhero comic book writer and has never had any sales success. This was a predictable sales failure.
Catwoman #88 plummeted from the number 132 spot to the number 185 spot. Catwoman is now barely clinging to the Top 200. This title has been a Dead Title Walking for a long time. DC Comics keeps publishing it, and readers keep abandoning it. At some point, DC Comics has to hire a real superhero comic book writer for Catwoman’s title.
Harley Quinn #63 fell from the number 171 and right out of the Top 200 to become unranked. This was entirely predictable. This title has struggled to just break into the Top 200.
Gotham Academy: First Year #5 remained unranked after issue #4 also failed to make the May 2026 Top 200. This title has no measurable direct-market audience.

Superman Unlimited #14 plummeted from the number 94 spot to the number 121 spot. Brutal.
Bizarro: Year None #2 climbed from the number 121 spot to the number 107 spot. This four-issue mini-series seems doomed to stalk the Dead Titles Walking category until its merciful conclusion.
Superman: Father of Tomorrow #2 plummeted from the number 103 spot to the number 180 spot. What an awful second issue collapse. Kenny Porter has completely failed to get anyone interested in this six-issue mini-series. This comic appears destined to become unranked before reaching its conclusion.
Adventures of Superman: Book of El #9 plummeted from the number 131 spot to the number 199 spot. This twelve-issue mini-series has spent months buried inside the Dead Titles Walking category.
Let’s move over to the Supergirl portion of the franchise.
Summer of Supergirl Special #1 debuted at the number 58 spot. That is an okay debut, but it is not an impressive one. This does show that DC Comics’ attempt to manufacture a “Summer of Supergirl” did not generate elite direct-market excitement.
Supergirl #14 climbed from the number 80 spot to the number 71 spot. Supergirl continues to operate in the middle of the chart despite DC Comics giving the character an event tie-in, multiple specials, a second mini-series, and a wider June promotional push.
Supergirl: Survive #1 debuted at the number 89 spot. That is a terrible debut. This six-issue mini-series is doomed to be in the Dead Titles Walking category with the next issue. There is simply not enough consumer demand to support multiple simultaneous Supergirl titles.

JSA #20 plummeted from the number 89 spot to the number 133 spot. This title makes a return trip to the Dead Titles Walking category. JSA #19 had returned to the Top 100 after JSA #18 went unranked. That rebound lasted exactly one issue. DC Comics has no idea how to turn the Justice Society into a commercially viable franchise.
Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event #1 debuted at the number 129 spot. That is a horrendous debut for a new Justice League-branded mini-series. Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event Issue #2 then plummeted to the number 168 spot. Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event Issue #3 fell to the number 177 spot. Justice League: Dream Girls—A DC Pride Event #4 then dropped out of the Top 200 and went unranked.
Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event was an unmitigated sales embarrassment. This was predictable. First, this type of social messaging comics never perform well in the sales chart. DC Comics then doubled down on that by hiring Nicole Maines and Jadzia Axelrod to write the title. Neither Maines nor Axelrod is a professional mainstream superhero comic book writer. Also, everything from Maines or Axelrod for DC Comics in the past has immediately died in the sales charts. Even my food-obsessed pugs with their two brain cells saw this coming. This is just another example of DC Comics creating a comic for an audience that did not exist in sufficient numbers.
DC X Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #2 plummeted from the number 23 spot to the number 82 spot. Ouch. That was a brutal drop. DC X Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #3 then fell from the number 82 spot to the number 176 spot. Gross. Another horrific drop. This title tanked at a far faster rate than I anticipated based on its solid number 23 debut.
Let’s hop over to the dudes of the Justice League franchise.
Lobo #4 fell slightly from the number 26 spot to the number 27 spot. That is essentially holding steady. This is an excellent result. The Main Man suffered the expected loss of launch heat, but the title did not continue collapsing. DC Comics may have something going on here with this title.
Fury of Firestorm #3 fell from the number 32 spot to the number 53 spot. This decline is disappointing. Unfortunately, this title has already dropped out of the Top 50 with just the third issue. I was hoping for better for Fury of Firestorm.
The Flash #34 fell from the number 112 spot to the number 125 spot. The Flash remains a complete sales embarrassment. DC Comics has tried event tie-ins, creative changes, and various promotional pushes. Nothing has turned this title into a healthy seller.
The Flash is one of DC Comics’ most recognizable characters. This title’s performance in the charts should be unacceptable. At some point, DC Comics is going to have to have Barry Allen return to take over this title.
Emperor Aquaman #18 plummeted from the number 104 spot to the number 146 spot. Brutal. Changing the title from Aquaman to Emperor Aquaman did not create a lasting sales boost.
Let’s slide over to the Green Lantern comics.
Green Lantern #36 fell from the number 121 spot to the number 141 spot. This is pathetic. Green Lantern is supposed to be one of DC Comics’ most important franchises.
Green Lantern Corps #17 plummeted from the number 113 spot to the number 155 spot. A comic starring the wider Green Lantern Corps should be one of the easiest franchise concepts for DC Comics to sell. It offers space adventure, a massive cast, and numerous recognizable Lanterns.
The title has spent nearly its entire run inside the Dead Titles Walking category. At some point, DC Comics is going to have to replace Morgan Hampton on this title. Hampton continues her streak of no sales success and cannot draw readers to this title.
The state of the Green Lantern franchise remains an unacceptable disaster. DC Comics has taken one of its most important franchises and rendered it commercially irrelevant.
Let’s wrap up with the ladies of the Justice League franchise.
Zatanna #3 fell slightly from the number 38 spot to the number 42 spot. That is an excellent hold. Zatanna continues to be one of the bright spots in the regular DCU. Zatanna lost the massive launch audience after issue #1 but has now demonstrated that she can maintain a legitimate Top 50 readership.
To put a fine point on it, Zatanna is outperforming Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Firestorm, and the Justice Society. DC Comics should be thrilled. Jamal Campbell deserves a ton of credit for his work on this title
Wonder Woman #34 plummeted from the number 62 spot to the number 100 spot. That is nasty. This is embarrassing for one of DC Comics’ supposed Trinity characters.
Wonder Woman #32 briefly returned to the Top 50 in April. Issue #33 fell to the number 62 spot. Issue #34 has now dropped to the number 100 spot. Whatever momentum Wonder Woman briefly generated has completely evaporated.
Tom King has never generated impressive numbers during his Wonder Woman run. But now it looks like King’s run on the title is turning stale. At some point, DC Comics might want to bring on a new writer to try and reinvigorate what should be a flagship title.

The Absolute Universe single-handedly accounted for six of DC Comics’ seven comics in the Top 10, eight of DC Comics’ twelve comics in the Top 25, and eleven of DC Comics’ twenty-one comics in the Top 50.
DC Comics would be getting the ever-living snot beaten out of it near the top of the sales chart without this franchise.
Let’s kick things off with the sun around which the Absolute Universe revolves: Bruce Wayne.
Absolute Batman #21 held steady at the number 1 spot compared to the number 1 spot that Absolute Batman #20 took in May 2026. Twenty-one issues into this run, Absolute Batman is still the best-selling comic in the entire market. This is unbelievable. What an epic run Absolute Batman has been on over the past two years.
The resolicited Absolute Batman #20 also took the number 7 spot. Therefore, Absolute Batman placed two consecutive issues inside the Top 10 during the same sales period. This is just insane. It is outrageous what kind of sales juggernaut Absolute Batman has become.
Absolute Catwoman #1 debuted at the number 2 spot. What a monster debut! Keep in mind that the regular DCU Catwoman has been a Dead Title Walking for roughly a zillion years.
What is even more amazing is that Absolute Catwoman hit this number with a total no-name at the writer position. Che Grayson is the writer, and Grayson is not even a professional mainstream comic book writer. She is a TV writer and director.
Behold the power of the Absolute Universe. It can make writers who normally crash and burn in the sales rankings have success. This is genuinely incredible. The Absolute Universe simply can do no wrong.
Absolute Green Arrow #2 fell from the number 2 spot to the number 4 spot. This may be the most impressive result for any Absolute Universe title! Green Arrow has never sold well. And Absolute Green Arrow is written by a no-name writer in Pornsak Pichetshote. This type of sales success without any big creative names attached to these titles and with talent who have never had any sales success is beyond stunning!
Absolute Wonder Woman #21 climbed from the number 10 spot to the number 9 spot. This title remains an outstanding success.
Absolute Superman #20 fell from the number 4 spot to the number 10 spot.
Absolute Martian Manhunter #12 fell from the number 6 spot to the number 19 spot. This is lower than where we normally see this title. But, to complain about a Top 25 ranking is just being greedy.
Absolute Flash #16 fell from the number 20 spot to the number 28 spot. This is the lowest that we have ever seen Absolute Flash in the sales rankings.
Absolute Green Lantern #15 fell from the number 19 spot to the number 31 spot. Absolute Green Lantern #16 then plummeted to the number 73 spot. This is easily the lowest that we have ever seen an Absolute Universe issue in the sales rankings. Before this, the lowest we had ever seen an Absolute Universe issue was when Absolute Martian Manhunter #5 took the number 56 spot.
To be fair, Absolute Green Lantern did ship two issues in June 2026. However, strong titles like Batman and Amazing Spider-Man are immune to suffering big drops between issues when shipping two issues in the same month. This is the first sign that not all Absolute Universe titles have elite sales power.
Even just focusing on the first issue shipped in June 2026 taking the number 31 spot, we see a bit of a warning sign. The only times we saw this title sell this low were when Absolute Green Lantern #4 took the number 53 spot, when Absolute Green Lantern #7 took the number 48 spot. And when Absolute Green Lantern #12 took the number 30 spot.
Up to this point, Absolute Green Lantern has easily been the lowest performing Absolute Universe title.
The resolicitation performance of the Absolute Universe titles remained completely absurd. All in all, the Absolute Universe placed eight resolicited issues in the Top 200.

Deadman #1 debuted at the number 15 spot. That is an excellent debut and easily the best supernatural comic in the June 2026 sales rankings. Deadman is not traditionally a major direct-market sales character. Therefore, placing a new six-issue mini-series inside the Top 25 is a significant victory for DC Comics.
Having said that, Deadman #2 plummeted to the number 69 spot. Shipping two issues in June did not help this mini-series. We shall see if Deadman #3 can mount a rally next month.
Universal Monsters: Blood of the Wolf Man #1 debuted at the number 66 spot. That is a solid debut for an Image Comics Universal Monsters title. We shall see how this four-issue mini-series from Joshua Williamson performs over the next few months.
Swamp Thing 1989 #3 fell from the number 81 spot to the number 99 spot.
Doctor Strange #7 fell slightly from the number 106 spot to the number 109 spot. Doctor Strange #8 plummeted to the number 188 spot. Doctor Strange remains firmly trapped inside the Dead Titles Walking category. This title has been in the Dead Titles Walking category for six consecutive issues.
Sorcerer Supreme #7 plummeted from the number 100 spot to the number 134 spot. Exactly as expected. Marvel Comics replaced Doctor Strange with Scarlet Witch as Sorcerer Supreme and received no meaningful sales improvement. Both Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch are now Dead Titles Walking. At some point, Marvel Comics has to accept that the current strategy is not working.

Ben 10 #2 fell from the number 7 spot to the number 21 spot. This is a positive sign to see Ben 10 still hanging in the Top 25. The resolicited Ben 10 #1 also landed at the number 61 spot. That is impressive demand for a publisher that routinely struggles to get most of its comics anywhere near the Top 100.
D’Orc #5 fell from the number 34 spot to the number 56 spot. This knocks the title outside the Top 50. But, this is still a respectable result for a creator-owned title from Image Comics.
Odin #2 plummeted from the number 28 spot to the number 77 spot. That is a brutal drop.
If Destruction Be Our Lot #2 plummeted from the number 30 spot to the number 86 spot. That is a grotesque collapse.
M1: Monster Racing League #1 debuted at the number 119 spot. That is an unimpressive debut for a heavily promoted new Image Comics ongoing title.
Alien: King Killer #3 plummeted from the number 98 spot to the number 150 spot. That is a brutal decline. Alien is one of the most recognizable science-fiction and horror franchises in entertainment. Marvel Comics still cannot turn that brand recognition into a healthy ongoing comic audience.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate #1 debuted at the number 178 spot. That is a bad debut for this four-issue mini-series that ties into the Masters of the Universe movie that was in theaters. This is not surprising. The movie did not do well in the box office. On top of that, Dark Horse hired Tim Sheridan as the writer. Sheridan has never had anything resembling sales success in the past.
Of the Earth #2 plummeted from the number 91 spot to the number 181 spot. That is a massive collapse. Of the Earth #1 received some positive retailer activity and eventually went back to print. Issue #2 still crashed nearly to the bottom of the Top 200. This is another reminder that a sellout announcement does not guarantee strong reader retention.
Conan the Barbarian #32 fell from the number 177 spot to the number 190 spot. This is impressive. Conan the Barbarian has reached issue #32 and continues making the Top 200. Titan Comics has maintained a longer and more stable Conan run than many publishers have managed with the property in recent years.
Conan and Dragonero #2 fell from the number 153 spot and out of the Top 200 to go unranked. Titan Comics has found some stability with the main Conan title, but readers clearly had no interest in this seven-issue crossover.
Thundarr the Barbarian #5 plummeted from the number 144 spot to the number 196 spot. Damn. I had been pleasantly surprised by how long Thundarr remained inside the Top 200. The title debuted at the number 79 spot in February and performed much better than I expected for a comic based on an old animated series.
Predator: Bloodshed #5 became unranked after Predator: Bloodshed #4 took the number 136 spot. This five-issue mini-series has now concluded. Predator: Bloodshed spent nearly its entire run buried inside the Dead Titles Walking category. The final issue went unranked. Marvel Comics has taken another popular franchise and turned it into a massive sales disappointment.
Imperial Guardians #4 became unranked after Imperial Guardians #3 took the number 143 spot. Welp. I guess my enjoyment of this comic completed the Rokk Kiss of Death. I thought that the concept had potential. Clearly, the market disagreed, and there was no audience for this title.
Space Ghost #12 became unranked after Space Ghost #11 took the number 164 spot. Space Ghost lasted longer and performed better than I initially expected. However, the title ended on a down note with the final issue of this twelve-issue limited series failing to make the Top 200.
Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living #3 remained unranked after Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living #2 also went unranked in May.
ThunderCats x SilverHawks #3 became unranked after issue #2 took the number 185 spot.
ThunderCats x SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #3 remained unranked after issue #2 also failed to make the May Top 200.
Dynamite Entertainment expanded a weak-selling crossover, combining two loved 1980s animated properties, with an additional tie-in series. Evidently, the audience nostalgic for both franchises is still not large enough to support the series.

Marc Spector: Moon Knight #5 fell from the number 31 spot to the number 41 spot. Moon Knight has experienced an uneven sales pattern during this latest relaunch. The title keeps bouncing around, but it continues finding its way into the Top 50.
Punisher #5 fell from the number 36 spot to the number 43 spot. That is another good result for Benjamin Percy’s Punisher. It is great to see this title still in the Top 50. The title has displayed excellent stability since the expected second-issue decline. Marvel Comics finally stopped acting weird with the Punisher and returned Frank Castle to a recognizable setup. Readers responded. It is not complicated.
Punisher #6 then fell from the number 43 spot to the number 62 spot. Marvel Comics shipped two Punisher issues during the June reporting period. A drop is to be expected, and this was not that much of a drop. That is a solid result.
Alias: Red Band #4 plummeted from the number 92 spot to the number 118 spot. We predicted that this title would fall into the Dead Titles Walking category this month, and it happened. Jessica Jones has never had a good sales history. We shall see if this title can rebound with its final issue next month.
Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun #5 remained unranked for the fourth consecutive issue. This five-issue mini-series was an epic sales disaster; four of its five issues failed to make the Top 200 and went unranked. Marvel Comics continues trying to make Lin Lie’s mantle-swap Iron Fist work. The market continues giving Marvel Comics the same answer. No.
The central takeaway is simple. Readers continue supporting established street-level characters when publishers give them recognizable and straightforward versions of those characters. Marvel Comics gets into trouble when it piles on unnecessary gimmicks, mantle swaps, and concepts that readers never requested. Street-level comics work best when publishers stop overthinking them.

Titans is right back where it was before DC K.O. The temporary event bump did not create a sustainable audience. DC Comics even repositioned the series as New Titans and gave the team a new base following the destruction caused by DC K.O. Readers did not respond.
This is the recurring problem with the Titans franchise. DC Comics attaches the team to an event, receives a temporary ranking increase, and then watches the title collapse as soon as the event ends.

The Big Two have reduced their reliance on mantle swaps compared to several years ago. That is smart. This category has been methodically erased from the upper portion of the sales chart. Marvel Comics and DC Comics spent years convinced that exchanging famous identities and costumes would automatically create new commercially viable characters. Readers kept rejecting most of those comics.
Six of the seven new comics in this inventory were either Dead Titles Walking or unranked. That means 86% of the new Mantle Swap Comics were floating dead in the water.
