Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 Preview – Darkest Hour Begins

Continuing the tradition started with Shattered Grid, Power Rangers is going to be kicking off its 12-month event, Darkest Hour, next month. In anticipation for this big event BOOM! Studios has shared with us a first look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 releasing on August 23, 2023. The creative team for the first chapter in the Darkest Hour event will be writer Melissa Flores, artist Simona Di Gianfelice, colorists Raúl Angulo and Jose Enrique Fernandez, and letterer Ed Dukeshire.

For the first chapter of the Darkest Hour event, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 solicitation teases:

Mistress Vile has won, or so it seems, with control of the Grid and Dark Specter’s infections spreading through the universe! The Rangers are presented with the impossible choice of saving either their friend or the universe against  Dark Specter and find themselves separated and stranded until they receive help from the last team they’d expect, but not be the help they were hoping for.

Darkest Hour is hitting at perfect time to be part of the Power Rangers franchise 30th anniversary celebration. In honor of that BOOM! Studios has assembled an all-star line-up of cover artists for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111. The main cover will be done by Taurin Clarke with variant covers by Björn Barends, Goñi Montes, Keyla Valerio, Ariel Olivetti, and Tyler Kirkham available when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111 goes on sale on August 23rd seen below:

(NASDAQ: HAS) revealed a first look at MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #111, the beginning of the DARKEST HOUR event, taking place after the bold and greatly anticipated Reunited, Recharged era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with a superstar creative lineup of writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky), artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly), colorist Raúl Angulo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) in the kickoff of this monumental 12-month event, available in August 2023.
