Okay, this is just ridiculous. This week brings a whopping total of 19 titles headed to the Bunker. That is insane. I simply read way too many comic books. I have no idea how many reviews I’ll be able to crank out this week. I’ll just have to pick and choose which titles to review wisely.

Which DC comic book am I most looking forward to reading? This is a tough one. It comes down to three Geoff Johns titles: Booster Gold #2, Justice Society of America #9 and Green Lantern #23. Both Green Lantern and Justice Society of America have been fantastic reads. And the debut of Booster Gold was incredible.

I’m going to have to go with Green Lantern #23. The Sinestro War storyline is simply the best big event that we have gotten in quite some time. Yeah, even more enjoyable than Civil War and Infinite Crisis.

Which DC comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Trials of Shazam #8. This mini-series has been crap-on-a-stick up to this point. DC placing the rebirth of the Shazam franchise in the hands of Judd Winick has turned out to be a massive mistake.

Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? Wow, so many great choices between Daredevil #100, Moon Knight #12, Thor #3 and X-Factor #23. These are all excellent titles that have been very strong reads. Huston has done an amazing job rejuvenating the dormant Moon Knight franchise. David always impresses The Revolution by making X-Factor the best read out of all the X-titles. And JMS has restored The Revolution’s faith in his talents with wonderful reads with the first two issues of Thor.

I’m going to have to go with Daredevil #100. Brubaker has made this title one of Marvel’s strongest titles and a consistently good read. The ending of the last issue was a real “Oh shit!” moment and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? Man, we have so many choices for this as well with Ghost Rider #15, New Avengers #34 and Punisher: War Journal #11. All of these titles are worthy of scorn since they have all been such pathetic reads for quite some time.

I’m going to have to go with New Avengers #34. I’m pretty sure that Bendis is using this title as an experiment in stasis to find out how many issues he can crank out without any actual advancement of a single plotline. It is truly mind boggling how a writer as talented as Bendis can consistently crank out such a pathetically piss poor read.

I’ll try my best to start posting reviews as soon as possible. I hope everyone enjoys their new comic books for this week.

  1. It’s easy to review them all. You just need to cut out anything unnessesary, such as work, family or personal grooming. If I take the time to ingore my wife and daughter long enough to read this blog, you can take the time to write it. Besides, showering is overrated.

  2. What, you aren’t reading the Justice League wedding special? Supposedly it leads into the next arc of the JLoA.

  3. Not to add to your potential woes, but if you’re still following JLA once McDuffie is on, this week’s “JLA Wedding Special” is the start of his run (and, misleadingly, just uses the “wedding” (bachelor parties, actually) as a background for the Injustice League’s opening moves).

I thought it was quite good, somewhat off Mike McKone art aside.
