DC Comics July 2026 comic book solicitations are here! The month will be a big one for the Superman franchise. Along with setting the foundation for an upcoming Superman event Action Comics will be reaching a major milestone. Along with we get the first details of the sequel for Dark Knights of Steel. There are also big things going on for Batman, Wonder Woman, the Absolute Universe, and much more. Find out what our ten big take aways were from DC Comics July 2026 comic book solicitations.
10) JUSTICE LEAGUE & JSA DISCOVER KEYS TO NEXT DCU EVENT

The summer is going to be busy time for the Justice League and JSA teams in DC Comics July 2026 solicitations show. We already know that the villains have been given amnesty and membership into the Justice League Unlimited. This is a big development that will continue to cause tension for the heroes.
A big test of how the heroes and villains are working together under the Justice League umbrella is how Batman and Lex Luthor work together. That particular new partnership is going to be test quickly in the Justice League: Knight Vision Special
9) MORE ABSOLUTE UNIVERSE DEBUTS

We will be getting two major debuts in the Absolute Universe in July. The first will be Absolute Sinistero in the pages of Absolute Green Lantern #16. With Absolute Sinestro’s debut we will get our first look at the Yellow Lantern Corps in the Absolute Universe. This continues the expansion of what the Emotional Spectrum represents in the Absolute Universe.
Then over in Absolute Green Arrow #3 we got the debut of Absolute Roy Harper. As with his DC Universe counterpart, Absolute Roy Harper is once again a protégé of Absolute Oliver Queen. What shape Absolute Roy Harper is in is another question as it seems that Absolute Black Canary won’t like what she finds about him.
8) NEW TITANS CONFIRM FULL ROSTER

The solicitation for New Titans #37 confirms what many thought would happen for the series. And that is major roster moves beyond the team getting new members. That is because for the second month in a row we get a New Titans cover that is missing Donna Troy, Starfire, Arsenal, Raven, and Beast Boy. They aren’t even in any of the variant covers.
With that it seems like they will be leaving the team for whatever reason they may have. Does that mean they will be appearing in other comic books? Maybe the upcoming Teen Titans series? This is a big unknown for fans of those characters.
Now this leaves Nightwing and Cyborg as the lone veteran members to mentor Jon Kent, Yara Flor, Stephanie Brown, Red Devil, and Eva The Daugher of Tomorrow. Though they will have Terra still around as a wild card for the team that will likely not be a full-time mentor but not “new member.” This is certainly a fresh mix of characters for the New Titans to have. If this is successful will ultimately be on a clear vision that shows growth for the characters rather than just arguing and in-fighting.
7) GOTHAM CITY NEW CORRUPTING FORCE

The Batman Family’s problems with Gotham City’s new political direction continues to grow in July. Poison Ivy already seems to be losing control of Gotham City as her time as Mayor seems to be a short one. It certainly isn’t helping things that Vandal Savage is continuing to have his own vision of what the GCPD should be. That vision seems to make the deal Poison Ivy made with him worse with each passing month.
Poison Ivy’s bad image does not help the Batman Family at all. If the government and police hunting them was not enough Batman has to tangle with a new deadly assassin in town. And its not just any deadly assassin. The assassin is promoted as the deadliest woman in the world.
These problems also extend beyond Gotham City. Over in her ongoing Barbara Gordon is going to be discovering even more secrets about the Supermax prison she is locked up in. Meanwhile Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman are being taken to their limits with the respect things they are learning in their own titles. To say 2026 isn’t being kind to the Batman Family would be an understatement.
6) WONDER WOMAN’S ORIGIN REWRITTEN….AGAIN

The solicitation for Wonder Woman #35 seems to confirm the big thing that will happen at the end of “The Wonder War” Act One in June. That is that the Matriarch will be successful in killing Wonder Woman, with Trinity and Steve Trevor unable to stop her. That is heavily hinted at by the fact that Steve Trevor and Trinity take over as the leads in Wonder Woman #35 after a “tragic” event in the preceding issue.
Now there is still a possibility that Wonder Woman won’t die but even if that happens Tom King may be aiming for other things. Those things include reshaping Wonder Woman’s origin story. That is also hinted at in Wonder Woman #35’s solicitation as we will “witness” Diana Prince’s origin story.
With how Tom King loves to reshape characters in his image changing things about Wonder Woman’s origin isn’t out of the question. It wouldn’t be the first time this is done as DC Comics has constantly changed what Wonder Woman’s origin story is. Though given how fans have taken to Tom King’s direction for the character this may not be as well received as they intend it to be.
5) ACTION COMICS CELEBRATE 1100

Action Comics is set to celebrate another milestone as shown in DC Comics July 2026 solicitations. That milestone is Action Comics #1100. This is no doubt a major milestone for the series to hit. It is only surpassed by Detective Comics that hit its 1100th issue a year earlier.
As is customary with these celebration comics we will get several different creative teams telling stories in Action Comics #1100. But there is a bit of a different approach that DC Comics is taking this time around. Rather than bringing back legendary creators to tell short stories, Action Comics #1100 will be lead by all the current creative teams of the Superman comics.
Going with the current creative teams of the Superman comics is a nice change of pace. It gives the current talent a chance to show why Superman is so celebrated. As hinted by the solicitation, this also gives Mark Waid, Joshua Williamson, Sophie Campbell, and Dan Slott all a chance to tell different types of Superman stories to celebrate the character.
4) ROBIN & SUPERMAN BEGIN REIGN IN ABSOLUTE UNIVERSE

The Absolute Universe is finding a lot of ways to challenge our heroes. Two of the biggest examples is what is going on in Absolute Batman and Absolute Superman. In Absolute Batman we know that the Robin squad is working for Jack Grimm, aka Absolute Joker. Absolute Batman #22 shows that the overwhelming power and numbers of the Robins will be too much for Batman to handle.
With how overwhelming the Robins appear to be that will make Absolute Harley Quinn and the Red Hoods even more important. They are his few allies he is actually working with. Which makes what we learn about Absolute Harley Quinn’s origin story in Absolute Batman #22 even more interesting.
Along with that we learn in Absolute Superman #21 the climax of the battle against Absolute King Shazam will lead to the “Reign of Superman” storyline. That is an ominous storyline title as we’ve seen that Kal-El has tried to get a sense of normalcy with his new life on Earth. The battle against Absolute King Shazam may have opened Kal-El’s eyes that living a life that’s not Superman is not possible.
3) ZATANNA ZATARA BECOMES DC UNIVERSE’S PRIME MAGUS

The DC Universe is going to be getting their own version of the Sorcerer Supreme in July. That comes in the form of Prime Magus, a title that Zatanna Zatara will assume in her series’ fourth issue.
So what comes with becoming the Prime Magnus? That is still unclear as Zatanna will be learning what comes with this new title she is assuming. Though we do know it comes with a very cool costume designed by Jamal Campbell.
While some may see this as DC copying Marvel, the top magician in a universe having a unique title has been a long standing thing. Zatanna achieving such a title drives home that DC is not just looking to keep the status quo with Zatanna. They want to elevate her importance and becoming the Prime Magnus can be part of that elevation.
2) DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL SEQUEL

It was only a matter of time before we got a sequel to the Dark Knights of Steel Elseworld series. The original Dark Knights of Steel was a big hit with fans that sold well. The spinoff Allwinter mini-series did not make as much noise. Unfortunately for Allwinter the lack of the original creative team for the spinoff hurt it being seen as a true sequel.
All that said, Tom Taylor is returning for the Dark Knights of Steel II, this time joined by artist Otto Schmidt. While it is sad that Yasmine Putri isn’t returning for the sequel Otto Shmidt is a great fit for the look and feel for this DC Elseworld. There are so many possibilities to further reimaging classic DC Universe characters and stories in a new way.
One of the things that Tom Taylor is playing with is the origin story for Aquaman. The Dark Knights of Steel: Heir To The Sea one-shot hints at this Elseworld’s Aquaman will have an origin story similar to DCU’s Superman. That tie comes from the solicitation for the one-shot talking about Dark Knights of Steel’s Jonathan and Martha Kent finding an orphan with ties to those living under the sea. This one-shot should add to the importance Aquaman and Atlantis will have in the sequel series.
1) SUPERMAN RETURNING WITH THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES

While DC Comics July 2026 solicitations are lead by Action Comics #1100 there is something even bigger from Superman coming in the summer. That is the Superman 2026 Annual, that has the sub-title of Year One Thousand. As the title suggest the Superman 2026 Annual will show us what the Man of Stell has been up to since the end of DC K.O.
At the end of DC K.O. #5 we saw that Superman left the main DC Universe to his friends to protect. The annual will show us that Superman is using his God-like Time Trapper powers to heal as much of the Multiverse as possible.
Though it looks like this is where we will see the limits of the God-like powers he and Darkseid wield. Whereas Darkseid focused his power in reshaping the Absolute Universe in his vision Superman is stretching himself across the Multiverse. Doing so has its limits as the Superman 2026 Annual hints that Superman will be burning through his God-like powers by the time he returns to the main DC Universe.
