DC Comics September 2026 solicitations have arrived! With that we see the DC Next Level direction start to pay attention to the superhero team side of the DC Universe. We have three team books all with different looks and feels to them. Along with that events led by Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman continue to impact their respective franchises. What else should you expect from DC Comics in September? Find out with our ten big takeaways from DC Comics September 2026 comic book solicitations.
10) FLASH PLAYING WITH THE GODS OF FATE

Wally West has stepped up his superhero game by becoming the protector of Central City, Keystone City, and, most recently, Metropolis. All signs indicate that Wally is doing well in managing protecting these three cities. That is thanks to his newly developed Flashes of Insight that has been an expansion of his Speed Force powers.
While this has made him a better Flash it does not mean everyone is a fan of what he is doing. Based on the main cover for The Flash #37, the people not on Flash’s side are his very own Justice League allies. We see that from the main cover featuring Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman. Will this lead to others having a problem with how Wally is using his powers to peak into the future.
9) RAVEN MOVES INTO ZATANNA’S MAGIC WORLD

With the new direction of the Titans and Teen Titans comic books it has left out several characters from where they are going. One of those characters that impacted is Raven. The long-time Titan seemingly has nowhere to go. Now after months of no answers about where Raven is at we are finding out she may be making big moves.
The answer to where Raven should be expected next comes from the new DC’s Quoth The Raven….Whatever. This new one-shot will feature Raven among many magic users who are dealing with some sort of magical threat near Gotham City. Because anything that happens in the DC Universe must involve Batman in some form or fashion.
It is not clear that if this will lead anywhere but given that Zatanna has become a big part of DC Next Level it can tease out a future magic-based event. Given her background it would be a good way to finally move forward to have Raven involved more in the magical realm of the DC Universe. She would fit right in with what is going on with Zatanna right now.
8) BATMAN’S BAD SEEDS SPROUT NEW LIFE IN GOTHAM CITY

The Batman Family isn’t the only ones being impacted by the events of the Bad Seeds crossover. We see that the event reverberating across Gotham City and Bludhaven. The events impact to Bludhaven threatens to cut off Gotham City from the rest of the world, like No Man’s Land.
Meanwhile across the rest of Gotham City both the GCPD and medical centers will be working overtime during Bad Seeds. It is so bad for them that they need their own dedicated one-shots as we are getting a Gotham Central and Gotham General comic book. This along with everything else going on in the Batman Family ongoings shows that Gotham City will not be the same when Bad Seeds is over.
7) ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN NEW HELLISH WEAPONS

Absolute Wonder Woman had a strong start. She was able to overcome everything that was thrown her way no matter how powerful. Though recently that has not been the case as Absolute Wonder Woman’s luck has been as good, or bad, as her other Absolute Universe counterparts.
To combat the heightened threats, she is facing Diana of the Wild Isle will be turning to Circe and Hephaestus for help. That help well result in Diana debut a whole new weapon set in Absolute Wonder Woman #24 from hell. What makes this intriguing is what the ramifications of using these new weapons will be for Absolute Wonder Woman.
The Troika Lasso almost killed her. If these new weapons are anything like Troika, they could be as big of a threat to Diana’s life as they are to those she uses them against.
6) DOOM PATROL JOIN THE SUPEHERO TEAM PARTY

DC Comics September 2026 solicitation is proving to be big for superhero team books. Yes, Teen Titans and Legion of Super-Heroes have long been teased. One team that will occasionally pop back up is Doom Patrol. That is in fact what we see happen again in September as a new Doom Patrol #1 will be released that month.
Of all the DC Next Level comic books that have been announced Doom Patrol may be the most niche title. They are the team that has a solid following, though have never come close to the consistent success of the Justice League, Teen Titans, JSA, and other teams. That is where it will really be up to writer Darcy Van Pelgeest and artist Niko Henrichon to pull in Doom Patrol fans into this series. They will need the fanbase along with whatever new readers are unfamiliar with the team or just the TV show to make the series a success.
Going in a heroes-for-hire direction for this new Doom Patrol is certainly an interesting, and unique one for the DCU. The team seems to be going back to basics of the core team of Robotman, Elasti-Girl, and Negative Man. I was thinking that with Beast Boy leaving the New Titans he would show up in Doom Patrol to help give it a little boost. But starting with the core team fans know is probably for the best of getting this new direction over.
5) ABSOLUTE CASSANDRA CAIN STEPS OUT OF THE SHADOWS

When the Absolute Robins group made their debut in Absolute Batman #19 one notable classic Batman protégé that was missing was Cassandra Cain. Now we are getting our answer as to why, and like the Robins, it is connected to Absolute Joker. Unlike the Absolute Robin Program, the League of Shadows was around before Absolute Joker, and he trained with them in his own Bruce Wayne-like journey. True to who he is Absolute Joker learned everything he could and then slaughtered the League of Assassins.
That is where Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand one-shot comes into play. Seemingly one of the only surviving League of Assassins members from Absolute Joker’s massacre, Absolute Lady Shiva has trained her daughter to be the greatest assassin on the planet.
While this may make it seem that it would directly connect Cassandra Cain to Absolute Batman it is being connected to Absolute Catwoman. In fact, the Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand one-shot is filling in the spot Absolute Catwoman in September. How things will connect with Absolute Selina Kyle’s journey and a possible bigger storyline for the Absolute Universe does create an immediate hook for this one-shot.
4) SUPERMAN RETURNS FOR END OF KINGDOM OF ZOD

The time when it was the rest of the Superman Family’s time to step up is over. They had their time with Superman MIA post-DC K.O. That is because the events of Kingdom of Zod have forced Superman to step back into the main DC Universe to help his family defeat Zod.
That is certainly a notable thing to happen. The bigger impact of Superman’s return is to what it will mean for the rest of the Superman Family. Superboy, Tomorrow Man, Superboy-Prime, and Supergirl all enjoyed more time in the spotlight in Superman’s absence. Now that he is back there is a big question to Superman Editorial if they will keep the focus on the entire family? Or will they go back to Superman, dominating most of the titles with Supergirl as the lone hero in the family with her own ongoing.
3) BARBARA GORDON BECOMES THE ABSOLUTE BAT

It was only a matter of time before Absolute Barbara Gordon joined the vigilante cause. The question was always if she would side with Absolute Batman or align with Absolute Joker. The answer became clear that she would at least not join Absolute Joker after he had Absolute Scarecrow kill her father.
While she is going to be taking on a costume reminiscent to her DCU counterpart she won’t be becoming Batgirl. Instead, Barbara will be taking on the identity of Absolute The Bat. This was something already hinted at with how Barbara appeared to have bulked up in the most recent issue of Absolute Batman compared to her early appearances.
Is it the big question if she works with Bruce? Given how Bruce has been acting recently Barbara will likely be better off doing things on her own.
2) RED HOOD LEADS NEW TEEN TITANS GENERATION

The Teen Titans franchise has been returning to what it has long been known for where we see the next generation heroes of the DC Universe working together. We’ve seen that in the latest direction for the New Titans series being a mix of original Titans and those DC has positioned as the next generation. That is something we are seeing with Static joining Jon Kent, Yara Flor, Stephanie Brown, and Eva being led by Nightwing, Cyborg, and Terra.
Now to expand the franchise we are seeing the Teen Titans series being brought back. Though it is not brought back with a classic Teen Titans roster. Rather than current sidekicks or proteges of Justice League heroes we have a roster of what can be classified as fresh characters. Bringing these new characters into the spotlight is none other than who some consider the best Robin: Jason Todd.
It is certainly interesting that DC Comics would sign off on a Teen Titans series without at least a few classic type members. It may help that New Titans is filling that role with having the current Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Batgirl on their roster. It may have opened the door for writer Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo to go all in on new or hardly used next generation characters. How Red Hood can step up to mentor Cheshire Cat, Fairplay, Flatline, Proxy, and Wild Card will certainly be a good starting hook for the series.
1) THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARE BACK

DC Comics has long teased that the Legion of Super-Heroes would be returning in a big way. That has partially been true as they were a major part of showing how Darkseid was able to take his new Godly powers to corrupt the multiverse. That includes creating his own Dark Legion as part of his Absolute Universe. Though that has now been slightly resolved with the way things turned out during DC K.O.
Now in September we will finally see DC Comics keeping to their word on a new Legion of Super-Heroes comic book. Unsurprisingly the new Legion of Super-Heroes comic book is being written by current Superman writer and DC All In co-architect Joshua Williamson. We’ve already gotten a lot of hints at Williamson being the one to write a new Legion comic with how he has had versions of characters from the characters pop up during his Superman run.
One of the first things that sticks out from Legion of Super-Heroes #1 solicitation is the new designs by Hayden Sherman. While Brainiac 5 looks like his usual Legion appearances all other Legionnaires have completely new “modern” designs. The designs are reminiscent of designs for modern remakes of classic anime like Cyborg 009 and Ghost in the Shell. The retro look to the Legionnaires has this feel capturing what the 1960s and 1970s designers thought people in future would dress like but with modern art tendencies.
