Swamp Thing is Killing the Children is a special one-shot crossover BOOM! Studios and DC Comics announced last year. The special crossover one-shot is being handled by Something is Killing the Children co-creators writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera. Now ahead of its December 2nd BOOM! Studios has provided us with a full look at the covers releasing for Swamp Thing is Killing the Children.
Swamp Thing is Killing the Children is set to be the debut of the iconic DC Universe character into the SlaughterVerse that Tynion and Dell’Edera have created together. This is a big opportunity for BOOM! Studios as Josh Hayes, Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing at BOOM! Studios, spoke about.
“It’s such an incredible thing to see Erica Slaughter next to Swamp Thing. Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson are synonymous with comics I grew up on, and absolute masters of their craft. To have modern masters like James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera telling a tale like this is something – I mean Swamp Thing that I can’t wait to read!”
Adding to Hayes’ excitement on the project Chris Conroy, Executive Editor for the DC Black Label imprint, also said:
“I’ll admit the sheer brilliance of the title alone was reason enough to get excited about this, but James and Werther have gone deep and created a story that’s just as ambitious as any of the other classics in the Swamp Thing library. I think fans of both the SlaughterVerse and of the darker side of DC comics are going to be shocked and delighted when they see what we’ve been up to!”
BOOM! Studios and DC Comics assembled a all-star line-up of artists to create covers for Swamp Thing is Killing the Children. On top of the main cover by Werther Dell’Edera there will be variant covers by artists Tyler Boss, Jenny Frison, Martin Morazzo, Hayden Sherman and Gabriele Dell’Otto. Check out the covers below.
