One of the biggest comic book moments of 2023 was the reveal that Void Rivals #1 was the beginning of the new Energon Universe. With that reveal we learned that Void Rivals would be part of a new combined universe that would include the G.I. JOE and Trasformers franchises. The Energon Universe has come thanks to a partnership by Skybound and Hasbro, which will see the return of the legendary Larry Hama return to the G.I. JOE franchise. The return of G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero continues the historic collaboration between Skybound and Hasbro, seeing the return of the G.I.
